    Day 567: Danube Delta

    September 4, 2018 in Romania ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Up and out early, and we spent today on a boat cruising the Danube delta. Lots of bird watching to be had! It was us, with a young German couple along with an older quartet of Romanians. The latter were a bit noisy, but otherwise everything was good. Just a tiny little boat so we could access parts of the delta that most tourist boats don't go to.

After about four hours of cruising around and bird watching, we arrived at the Black Sea coast. Had about an hour to swim (isolated spot, though of course there was a ruined Soviet-era concrete hotel half buried in the sand), though only Shandos went in - I just wet my feet.

Headed back to the hotel around mid-afternoon where we relaxed and stretched our legs again. Ended up going out for dinner in town with the German couple, Jakob and Francesca from Regensburg. Shared a couple of fish and meat platters with them. Again, nice to socialise with some new people!
