Te Araroa - Tag 50

🇩🇪 Tag 50: 25 km Makahika Outdoor Pursuit Centre - Te Matawai Hut

Auf geht es in einen der anspruchsvollsten Abschnitte des Te Araroa. Es geht über den Grat der Tararua Ranges. Hier ist man dem Wetter absolut ausgesetzt, für morgen ist bis zu 70 km/h Wind angesagt. Mal abwarten, ob es soweit kommt. Heute führte der Weg vom Tal bis zur Te Matawai Hütte auf 900 m. Es ging immer mal wieder hoch und runter. Der Wald war wunderschön, manchmal erwartet man Feen oder Hobbits zu entdecken, wenn man um eine Ecke geht. Auch die Ausblicke auf die Küste und die Bergkette waren richtig genial. Insgesamt hatten wir dann 1.600 Höhenmeter auf dem Tacho. So macht wandern richtig Spaß! 🥰

We head into one of the most challenging sections of Te Araroa. It goes over the ridge of the Tararua Ranges. Here you are completely exposed to the weather, winds of up to 70 km/h are forecast for tomorrow. Let’s wait and see if it comes to that. Today the path led from the valley to the Te Matawai Hut at 900 m. It went up and down every now and then. The forest was beautiful, sometimes you expect to spot fairies or hobbits when you turn a corner. The views of the coast and the mountain range were also really awesome. In total we had 1,600 meters in altitude on the clock. Such Hiking is really fun! 🥰Baca lagi
