After some time of cruising along the rivers we got to see the first proboscis monkeys who seem to meet in the trees around sun set. They are not only exceptional swimmers but can also jump very largeLeggi altro
When we woke up it was raining heavily. However we soon sighted our first wild Orang Utan. Later we trekked through the rain to the first feeding place. Orang Utans are really fascinating creatures.Leggi altro
We continued cruising on the river, watching monkeys and birds, eating lunch and chilling.
One of my favorite things of the trip was watching Bob, the gibbon, move from tree to tree, up and down. The grace with which he moved was beautiful. It must be fun to be a gibbon!
The sun came out in the afternoon and it was really nice and relaxing to just watch the surrounding nature ... including the monkeys enjoying themselves as well.
Katja and I took a night bus to Banjarmarsin. On the bus we met a nice young woman traveling with a baby. Somehow it ended up in my arms when she had to take a toilet break.
It took us some time to find a grab to take us to our hotel, but at least we made some acquaintances at the bus terminal.
After having enjoyed the small roof top pool and terrace, we went downtown to explore the city. Our first stop was the Klenteng Soetji Nurani Temple. We then crossed the river and took a coffee breakLeggi altro
