Not so quiet a day

Bjuröklubb! Finally, I managed to reach today's destination! This wasn't the relaxing day I had hoped for!

It all started rather well. I even saw a seal as I was leaving furuögrund who once they realised that I was close jumped in the water but kept looking at me with just eyes and nostrils above the water.

The wind started as expected and the sea was rather quiet for a good part of the day but around 2 p.m., the wind started to grow stronger and stronger, I took in one reef, then another and that seemed to do the trick for a while but in the end, I still had to roll a bit the front sail. I also tried to look for some shelter in the lee of an island and then off of the coast but without success, in the end, as it got even worse when I was just a few miles away, I started the engine and did the last 1.5-2nm with it.

I'm now at the SXKK buoy and I'll wait to see what is up in the morning before deciding what is next.

Bjuröklubb ! Enfin ! J'y suis arrivé ! Ce n'était pas le jour de détente que j'espérais…

Ç'avait pourtant bien démarrer. J'ai même vu un phoque qui dorait au soleil sur un rocher. Quand il s'est rendu compte que j'approchais, il s'est mis à l'eau, mais a continué de m'observer avec juste les yeux et les narines hors de l'eau.

Le vent était comme prévu au début et la mer assez calme, mais, vers deux heures de l'après-midi, le vent est monté bien comme il faut. J'ai pris un ris, puis un deuxième et ça m'a permis de continuer un moment. Mais finalement, il a fallu que j'enroule une partie de mon génois pour pouvoir continuer. J'ai essayé de m'abriter près d'une île et ensuite près de la côte sans y trouver de répit. Quand je n'étais plus qu'à quelques miles de l'arrivée, le vent et la mer ont encore forci et, quand il ne restait plus que deux miles à faire, j'ai mis le moteur et j'ai fini comme ça.

Je suis maintenant à une bouée du SXKK (le club de voile croisière suédois), et je verrai au petit matin quelles sont les conditions et le programme pour la journée.Leggi altro
