Route 66 West Day 5

We left my friends home around 0730 this morning. They were going to rejoin Route 66 from just west of Kingman and head up the Sidewinder squiggly road into Oatman. I've already been through there this year, so I decided to pretty much beeline it to the hotel.

I did a little of Route 66 on the way, though, stopping at Goff's Schoolhouse where there was a Tour of Honor stop. Then I had a really nice conversation with Paul on the side of the Route as we figured out the detour for construction. Nice guy 👍.

I popped by Roy's Motel & Cafe as well. Pretty cool stop and right at the junction to drop down south into Twentynine Palms and Joshua Tree National Park, which is an amazing place and a must see...but not during the summer 🥵🥵🥵.

I missed ALL the hot weather today, only reaching 80°F! 👍👍 Winning!!

After a short lunch at a nearby McDonald's, I'm sitting in the hotel lobby waiting on my friend to arrive so she can check us in. She told the hotel to let me check in for her, but they don't have any record of it 🤦. Oh well.
