Shelter From the Storm

I reluctantly and tearfully left the Kumpes this morning. It was so very wonderful to see them.

My first stop was Bull Run HD in Manassas, which is shut down 😔. They still had a sign up though, and it still counted for the Dealership Challenge 👍.

Then it was on to Skyline Drive, Virginia's 50 Rides route. 🤦. What a flustercuck. This is as bad as the Natchez Trace in Mississippi. 35 mph or less the entire 105 miles! Boat loads of people today, probably to look at the leaves. They don't know that those leaves aren't nearly as gorgeous as Vermont's 😉. Cars parked in the road, bicyclists, drivers playing lookieloo instead of driving, RVs...terrible. With some creative passing, I finally made it through.

The rest of the day I spent like I always do, getting photos. But today I was also keeping one eye on the weather.

When I was about to head to Hampton/Newport News, I realized I would probably hit some rain. Plus, pretty significant storms would be happening tonight, so I opted for a hotel room again.

Now, I'm hunkered down in bed hoping all the wet passes by me tonight 🤞🤞🤞.
