One word to describe the day: confidence

This morning Mel and I woke up just slightly earlier to get the snow section over by mid morning. We had about 6 miles of snow to get through. It wasn't terrible. There were lots of comments on farout, the app we use for wayfinding, that made me a little worried. The slopes weren't terrible but definitely the steepest snow traverses we have done so far. We did have to do some bushwacking to get to the trail here and there. But overall we made good time and felt good about it!

We had good views of Shasta throughout the snow section. After the snow we went through some amazing forest with giant trees. So tall! Camping at water tonight and have lots of friendly deer around.
