A warm day in Lisbon. We filled up on a delicious breakfast and visited the oldest book shop before taking the train out to Cascais Beach. We walked the city and I won't admit to how many sidewalk pictures I took. The tile work is just beautiful. We finished the day with a yummy Mexican meal. It was a good day.Read more

Today was an organized tour to Fatima, Nazare, and Obidos. Few raindrops on the 30 minute walk to catch the tour, but not enough to break out ponchos. We were treated with a rainbow, third on this trip (other two were on Camino). A full day that ended with a nice meal near our Airbnb.Read more

Today a delicious breakfast at Dear Breakfast and then the ferry to Cristo Rei. After we returned on the ferry, Time Out Market was a good place to check out. A massive food hall. We wondered a bit and ended the day with Lisbon Under the Stars. It was a great 45 minute light and sound show capturing Portugal history, especially Lisbon. Another good day.Read more

After breakfast, it was off to Mosterio dos Jerinimos, a wonder around some favourite places, and snacks for tomorrow. A lot of English spoken in Lisbon and a lot of American accents. Today I ran into a guy from Lee's Summit, MO. He and his wife are here on their honeymoon. Walking to dinner we saw people coming out of the street, no idea what's happening there. There isn't a subway system that I'm aware of. Another good day in Lisboa (Portuguese way of saying Lisbon).Read more

Off to Lisbon today and flights went easily. Stephanie's long time friend now lives in the Netherlands and she came to join us for the weekend. She's been to Lisbon before, so it's nice for us to have a tour guide.

After so many days of seeing people in boots, quick dry gear, etc, everyone seems so dressed up here.

A quelques mètres de là, en descendant la rua Garrette, nous croisons un Pessoa de bronze, attablé à la terrasse du café A Brasileira dont il fut l'un des fidèles clients. Qui n'a pas rêvé un jour de dire : "j'ai pris un café à Lisbonne, en compagnie de Pessoa ? " Ce quartier avec ses petites rues piétonnes est très agréable. Traveler It is the Santa Justa elevator. Lisbon is all about the hills and this one is a 20 second ride up to an overlook so you don't have to walk it. It was designed by one of Eiffel"s associates
