Lange genug sind wir auf den ausgetretenen Pfaden der Touristen durch Marokko gereist. Wir wollen mehr über das "echte" Leben im Land erfahren - ein Roadtrip quer durch Marokkos Hinterland soll dabei endlich für eine authentische Erfahrung sorgen. Ob dabei authentisch immer besser ist, erweist sich als zweifelhaft.
Über die Stunden ziehen sich ändernde Landschaften vor dem Autofenster vorbei. Von steinigen Wüsten zu grünen Weiden durchqueren wir Marokkos Hinterland. Die Schattenseite ist dabei, dass hinter den Fassaden der Lehmhäuser Armut weit verbreitet ist. Die Begegnung mit Menschen, welche mit dem Wenigsten auskommen müssen prägt uns sehr - und lässt uns sprachlos zurück. Der Kontrast zwischen den touristischen Städten und dem spärlich bewohnten Umland ist hierbei augenfällig.

We have travelled long enough through Morocco on the well-trodden paths of tourists. We want to learn more about the "real" life in the country - a road trip across Morocco's countryside should finally provide an authentic experience. Whether authentic is always better proves to be doubtful.
Over the hours, changing landscapes pass in front of the car window. From stony deserts to green pastures, we cross Morocco's countryside. The dark side is that poverty is widespread behind the facades of the mud houses. The encounter with people who have to make a living with the least and leaves us speechless.
