Yes… he was kind of a “keeper” at the ruins! He insisted we follow him so he could give us a stamp in our pilgrim passports and so he could point at this and that and ramble on in Portuguese, as if we had a clue! 🤣 Really sweet man! I’ll have to look up the ruins later tonight to find out what we were looking at!

So when we went to check-in at the Barcelos Albergue they had no more beds, unless there were no-shows later in the day. They did offer us mattresses on the floor of an attic alcove with no window….もっと詳しく

旅行者Nice to get dinner and breakfast included. At least you don't need to search for food. Fun to encounter treats along the trail.
旅行者Yes, there really isn’t much around so to have food provided is a bonus! Plus this place has a washer AND dryer (a first so far) and the shower is amazing! I’ll try to get a pic!

The architecture of old cathedrals, castles, forts, is so amazing! You wonder how they were built and detailed with tools of their era!!
旅行者I have especially loved seeing how they built water ways throughout the cities that feed into fountains, basins, washing areas, vineyards, etc!

旅行者No. Portugal is only to the south of us now. So Spain from now on! Andrea found me some Imodium and our day tomorrow is similar to today, so not too hard. Hopefully, I will be doing better tomorrow!

旅行者It is SO nice when you are walking along… hot and thirsty and you see this oasis of ice cold water. I mean, they make money! It’s not free, but worth a few euros!
旅行者Lots more pilgrims to meet…I’m just stuck on all the history represented along the way…bridges, doors, roads, buildings, etc. Very “old world”❣️
