Disko 11: Champagne sail west

We expected a motoring day and for a change were surprised by some first-class downwind sailing. We cracked out the Oxley and for a few hours made excellent progress at 8 to 10 knots boat speed. Once out of the channel the wind died we we reverted to steaming on one engine.

For the evening we reunited with Vanuily in a calm, picturesque anchorage. Anne and Hugues come over for a tea before we go to sleep. For tomorrow a nice, light, down-wind sail is anticipated.Læs mere
