    Relaxing in Bangkok

    October 16, 2019 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Made it to Bangkok, will be here for a few weeks. Today's trail with the Bangkok Harriettes was a good start to a month's worth of hashing in Thailand. The map does not do the trail justice for how many narrow alleys and side streets we managed to sneak through. Oh, and guess who was tits of the week? Hard to believe it has been six fast years since I last hashed here, so good to be back. On On.

Ran with the Thursday Hash last night, another excellent small alley way trail. It does not show well, but what looks like near straight lines is really a bunch of short twists and turns, and ducking for low overhead. Here is a hilarious look at a bad intersection on the Bangkok Thursday hash.

Finished off the first week in Bangkok with an excellent shiggy trail with the Bangkok Men's H3. Great times to be had . . .

In less than a week you've traveled further than the average Dick and Jane does in a lifetime... It's not the destination... it's how you got there. Lucky bastard.

Please give my regards to Iboibo!

    April 25, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

We have arrived in Bangkok and the first thing we did was swimming in our pool. It was really great after almost 24 hours of traveling. To find our apartment was a bit tricky but our taxi driver helped a lot! Without him we would be lost in Bangkok on our first day.
The evening we will enjoy at the pool with some beer and self-cooked Spaghetti Tonno.

    The Summer Palace, Bang Pa-In.

    November 26, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

King Rama V built a summer palace compound for his wives and family in Ayutthaya. It was a beautiful morning when we visited, cooler and fresh. King Rama V had been educated in Europe and brought back those influences to his kingdom. Some of the buildings have a distinct European look while others show a Chinese influence. This Palace is used occasionally as a residence and also hosts ceremonies and receptions. I think the public is allowed in some buildings, but we just walked the grounds.

On the drive to our cruise boat for the ride home, we drove past rice paddies, lots of banana and mango trees and lotus fields. We stopped for a local snack, sugar in a roti. Very sweet but nice.

The boat cruise home included a lunch buffet (quite nice), a more Western meal than we have had lately. It gave us a different view of downtown Bangkok. Traffic was so bad Air had us exit the van and led us to the Sky Train were we travelled for 4 stops to a station near our hotel.

Vormittags Fährt zur alten Königstadt Ayutthaya. Tempel 1,Tempel 2, Tempel 3.
Sieht irgendwie alles ähnlich aus...aber bei Tempel 1 gab es den netten Mönch, der 4 Jahre im buddhistischen Tempel in Dortmund gelebt hat.Read more
