Hamburg (Day 3)

It's a slow start and after a few coffees we come back to life. We're off the visit Opa at his apartment and he pulls out a 1977 Atlas to show us where he grew up. We go for a peaceful drive down to the river and sample a raw herring burger followed by Spaghetti Cabonara Icecream (stringy Icecream encasing frozen cream with egg liquor on top)!

Back home we meet Ole parents who have been saving in Norway over the weekend and his girlfriend Claudia returns from visiting family. It's time for Suki to turn on her magic as she whips up a monster Curry! It's a great dinner and afterwards Ole's parents pull out an old school film slide projector and share some pic of their 1996 trip to Australia.

We say goodbye to Opa as we drop him back at his apartment and are so grateful to meet him. We take a detour via the autobanh on the way home and manage to max out his old mans BMW at 210km/h and still get overtaken by a Merc - plus its raining!!!

It's getting late and tomorrow we move on to Berlin. It's been an incredible weekend and Ole's hospitality has been remarkable. To finish off the night we knock back a few shots of the Wyand Focknick liquor we brought him from Amsterdam.Leggi altro
