Cactus Candelabros

A bit further from the badlands is the area where the cactus candelabros grow. These are a species of cactii that grow only here and some parts of Peru. Its a very rare species since they can grow only between 1700 - 3000 mts and in extreme dryness only. Candelabros in Spanish means chandeliers and these cactii look like chandeliers upside down. The trunk is covered with a lot of long sturdy spines about 7-10 cms long. The height of the plants was about 2-3 mts.
