    Greenery after Payogasta

    After lunch, we started North again from Payogasta. Here, suddenly it was much more greener in the valleys and the locals had used the abundance of water to grow a lot of crops. The main sources of water here are the big river Calchaquí and a tributary Rio Piyul. The surrounding hills are very rich in iron oxide and are red in color. The road continued like this till a little after La Poma. From here the road started climbing up.Read more
