Starry night on the Cauchari salar

    December 11, 2017 in Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

It was a beautiful starry night with a few specs of clouds here and there. It was a typical clear altiplano night with tons of stars and galaxies visible all over the sky. It was an unforgettable, peaceful, quiet and stunning end of the day. We slept by the ruins. No vehicles passed on this very narrow bylane the whole night and it didn't get extremely cold as we had been expecting. The reason was clear when the sun came out. We had been camping in the shadow region of the Cauchari mountain at the edge of the Cauchari Salar. We woke up early at 7:00 am, so as to reach San Pedro de Atacama as soon as possible.Read more
