    La Leone

    January 27, 2018 in Argentina ⋅ ⛅ 4 °C

We took the morning bus to El Calafate. It stopped on the way at La Leone.
Near here, on the eastern bank of the river was the largest known dinosaur, with a body weight of about 65 tons, the Dreadnoughtus schrani . Its name comes from the English word "dreadnought" - the one that fears nothing.
The building dates from 1894 and has been restored. The original was built by the Jensen family, on the river that gives it its name.
The celebrated American bandits and cowboys Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid would have stopped here in 1905.
