      "Camp Monaco"

      July 20, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

Back at Home Base in Boring for 3 nights then to Coburg Oregon for motorhome service and upgrades. New gas cooktop, residential refrigerator and shock absorbers installed! Ended up staying in Coburg over two weeks waiting for diagnosis, inspection and authorization by warranty company, parts delivery. We spent our days visiting and comiserating with our fellow RVers at "Camp Monaco", going to Eugene's excellent farmer's market, driving up the McKenzie River to Blue River Lake, buying bread at the Camas Country Mill Store and Bakery, shampooing and clipping Kuma and taking many walks. As always we met new friends during our stay including Rod, a former jet fighter pilot, and Mona, a Las Vegas singer, as well as Renee, a former winter site manager at Admunsen Station South Pole... some of the most interesting folks we've met during our travels.Read more

      October 23-27

      October 27, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 55 °F

We went to REV in Coburg for annual preventative maintenance on the motorhome. While at "Camp Monaco" we met Tim and Janet from Grants Pass, we meet the nicest people living the RV life. We gave Kuma a bath and a trim at Suds 'Em Yourself, a wonderful grooming salon in Eugene that we stop at whenever we're in the area. http://www.sudsemyourself.com/
A great place for breakfast in Eugene is Buddy's Diner. We always dine there at least once when having our motorhome serviced. Marcus Mariota apparently likes it too as we just missed him! Our waitress showed us a selfie of her with him. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g…

    • Day 285

      October 4-12

      October 12, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 59 °F

We departed Seaside for Coburg on the 9th. The weather was evenly divided between partly sunny and constant drizzle our last four days at the beach. Dry days were spent on the pickleball courts, wet days we enjoyed fish & chips and fish tacos at Grizzly Tuna and driving into Cannon Beach for eggs benedict and marionberry scones at Lazy Susan's. We had a fantastic stay and hope to see some of our new friends when we head south this winter.
Beautiful weather for our annual stay at "Camp Monaco" in Coburg where we went for some minor fixes and adjustments to the coach. Washed the salt water and sand from Kuma and gave him a light clipping. Spent three mornings at Meadow Park playing pickleball with a great bunch of people... all eight courts full every morning with players waiting to rotate in.
Tomorrow we head back to our home base in Boring for two and a half weeks before hitting the road again.

    • Day 322

      November 3-18

      November 18, 2020 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 52 °F

What we hoped would be a one week stay for RV service in the Eugene area turned into two and a half weeks plus! Luckily our hot water heater and washer/dryer both started having problems the day before we left our home base so we were headed in the right direction for repairs. Unfortunately COVID-19 delayed procurement of parts.
After having our windshield replaced at Coach Glass we headed to REV, aka "Camp Monaco" for the water heater and washer/dryer then to Source Engineering for radiator maintenance then back to REV for more diagnostics/repairs and a lot of waiting.
We spent our days taking long walks around Coberg and Eugene. We also played pickleball at Meadow Park in Springfield and met our friends Angie & Jim at G3 Sports & Fitness in Corvallis for a couple hours of play. I passed some time crafting crocheted tulle scrubbies. After sewing about 15 face masks using four different patterns as well as trying the knit masks from Costco and the disposables I finally found and tweeked the perfect pattern to fit my face!😷
