  • Listen to Your Parents (by Andrew)

    22 Disember 2022, Namibia ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

You should listen to your parents because if you do not you can get sick, hurt, lost or DIE!!! Your parents know soooo much more than you do (fact). One week ago, my parents told me not to lick a salt rock but I licked it a lot anyway (for 4hrs in the car), then I was puking all night and had poop (I am serious, poop) all night in a tent in the middle of the bush of Namibia. You really should listen to your parents because you can get in big trouble if you do not. If you do not respect your parents, you get in trouble and loose stuff, which is bad and they are your parents you love and respect them and you have to respect the people you love!!! It is good to respect people.I hope you (kids) listen and respect your parents because if not have fun puking and pooping all night long!!!Baca lagi

  • Christmas Drive

    25 Disember 2022, Afrika Selatan ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

After Namibia, we went to Cape Town and rented 2 AC Cobras on Christmas Eve. Mom drove the #1 AC Cobra which was white with red stripes. Dad drove #2 and #2 was red with black stripes. We drove along the coast to Chapman’s Peak to see the sunset. It was great but we did not see the sunset because we only had 2 hours of driving time. We had a blast and dad’s bucket list came true.fBaca lagi

  • Rafting on the Zambezi River (by Lewis)

    31 Disember 2022, Zambia ⋅ ☁️ 79 °F

Yesterday we went white water rafting on the Zambezi river. The Zambezi river is the 4th longest river in Africa. It divides Zimbabwe and Zambia. Its water is unusually warm, which felt good when it splashed me. We went over GIANT rapids (classes l - V) and even saw a crocodile; that’s Jackson to you, Emma!! White water rafting was my favorite activity of the trip so far.Baca lagi

  • Hippos on the Chobe River (by Lewis)

    2 Januari 2023, Botswana ⋅ 🌧 70 °F

We went on a boat Ride on the Chobe River. The Chobe River divides Botswana from Namibia. We saw hippo’s on the Chobe River. Here's a few interesting facts about hippos. Hippos are the third largest mammals on Earth. Did you know that hippos are most active at night? Hippos also produce their own sunblock! Additionally, hippos can identify friends from enemies, which is good if you want to trade Pokemon. Hippos are also herbivores, eating 80 pounds of grass each night! There’s so many facts to learn about hippos!Baca lagi

  • Animals of Botswana (by Andrew)

    2 Januari 2023, Zimbabwe ⋅ 🌧 68 °F

We went to botswana and went on a game drive. On the game drive we saw a lot of animals like a lot of water buffaloes, a lot of crocodiles, giraffes, Elephant poop and many more animals. We also got to go on a river cruise and see hippos. We also saw a lot of impala and funny fact: they called impalas ‘McDonalds - lions and leopards fast food’ because their butts had a big black “M” on them.

I love animals and I hope you do too. If you do, please consider donating or adopting a rhino by giving a little bit of money like I did at: https://rhinos.org/donate/ I hope you do.

  • Skydiving (by Lewis & Andrew)

    7 Januari 2023, Singapura ⋅ ☁️ 82 °F

Lewis: While in Singapore we went indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel. Before you go skydiving, you should know that there are fans below you. The fans have to push up enough air, approximately 120 mph, to counteract gravity and make you float. Before you go skydiving, you need to have some special gear. That special gear is goggles, a helmet, earplugs, and a full-body suit. To be able to fly, you need to be in a specific position on your belly, chin up, arms out, and legs on a slight upward angle. It was breathtakingly fun. If I could do anything, I'd go skydiving again.

Andrew: We went to Singapore and went to an indoor skydiving place called Ifly. It was so fun. You get to go in a wind tunnel and you go dooooowwwwwwnnnnnn.... I’m just kidding you, you go up, not down. You just need to lie on your stomach and then you float. At the end, the guide asks you if you want to go to the top of the tunnel. If you do, you go with a guide and the people who run the skydiving tunnel turn the wind up a lot. This was the best Chanukah present - thanks so much Lewis!

  • ACMI (by Andrew)

    15 Januari 2023, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 59 °F

I went to a museum in Melbourne & it was called ACMI. ACMI stands for Australian center for the moving image. We saw the costumes from Thor, Jane, Zeus & all the Thor love and thunder characters. We also played PAC-MAN & a ton more video things with a bunch of pictures in them that you spin and look at it and it moves soooooo fast that it makes a movie almost. You should come to Melbourne and go to the ACMI museum.Baca lagi

  • Ropes Course (by Andrew)

    23 Januari 2023, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 70 °F

We went to Melbourne and went to a ropes course and went on some courses. The courses were Yellow = 4-7 year olds, green = 8+ year olds, blue = 8+ year olds, red = 10+ year olds and black = 13+ year olds. Each color has 2 runs, a short one and a long one. My favorite part was the long blue. There is a secret course but I can’t tell you, you have to go. But I can tell you a hint: take the short blue onto the red. I got to go on the green, blue and the secret course. You get to go on zip lines and obstacles. It is really fun. I hope you go too and find out what the secret course is. If you go I hope you enjoy it.Baca lagi

  • Animal Sanctuary (by Andrew)

    25 Januari 2023, Australia

We went to an animal sanctuary and we saw Koalas, Kangaroos and Tasmanian Devils. I liked the Koalas the best, but the Kangaroos were also pretty cool. The Tasmanian Devils Mom liked the best. We got to go to an animal hospital and there was a kids area where kids pretend to be helping stuffed animals. It's pretty cool. Did you know Koalas mostly eat and sleep. Did you know that Kangaroos can jump onto their tales and kick. You should go too, if you do I hope you enjoy it.Baca lagi

  • Wanaka, New Zealand (by Andrew)

    30 Januari 2023, New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

We went to New Zealand and went swimming in lake Wanaka. We saw the famous Wanaka tree. I got to jump off a pier that was very high from the water. It was terrifying, but awesome.
We hiked Mt Iron, Hawea Flat Track (very flat), Diamond Lake & Rocky Mountain. Mt Iron is an awesome hike to do with kids because it’s only 30 minutes up and 20 minutes down. Hawea Flat Track is a very long hike that is in the sun without shade, so maybe do this in the fall or winter, not summer (would not do with kids in the summer). Diamond Lake & Rocky Mountain hike had a ton of shade and there’s a pretty cool diamond-shaped lake. It’s a very long hike, so I would recommend going to look out with kids and not to the top.
We also got to go to this trampoline class. It was super fun because you get to do pretty fun tricks like flips. I hope you can go to New Zealand too, if you do I hope you love it in New Zealand.

While we were in New Zealand we went to a place called Puzzling World. There is a room where the floor is slanted and makes you nauseated. I think it’s cool, but you feel like you have to throw up (but it's still fun). There is also a great maze that’s pretty hard to get out of. Mom and I were buddies in the maze Dad and Lewis were also buddies. To get out you need to get to the top of the blue, green, red and yellow towers, but to get to the tops of the towers you need to find a path that goes to the stairs that take you to the top of the towers. I hope you go too, if you go I hope you enjoy it.Baca lagi

  • Kiwi Water Park (by Andrew)

    4 Februari 2023, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 90 °F

While we were in New Zealand, we went to a water park called Kiwi Water Park. The water park had huge inflatables, such as an obstacle course, a gigantic inflatable goat to leap off, waterslides, a humongous jump, a freaky high dive, an iceberg you can climb and plunge off, a tarzan swing, and a trapeze.
I thought the trapeze was pretty fun. To get to the trapeze, you had to climb up a bouncy house. Instead of landing in a net at the end of the trapeze, you landed in water. There was a high dive at the back of the Kiwi. The high dive was over 20 ft tall. When I went on it, I felt free in midair, but most people were scared and didn’t do it. Next to the high dive, there was a slightly less high jump that was 17 ft high. It was shorter than the high dive, but I still had a long time in the air to be free. The lower jump was for beginners and felt more safe for doing more tricks, but that's just my opinion.
I had a great time at the Kiwi Water Park.

My favorite animal was the hairy pig Emma had the same preference about her favorite animal at the farm. There was a door of nowhere that was in the middle of nowhere. • Emma's Visit (by Andrew)

    18 Februari 2023, New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 61 °F

When we were in New Zealand, the awesome Emma came to visit us for 10 days! While she was here, we went to a place for luging. There were 2 different tracks, arrow and dart. I went on the arrow track 3 times and dart 0 times. Why I did not go on the dart track is because I had to go on arrow first and I loved it so much that I did not want to go on the dart because we only had 3 rides. Apparently there was a triathlon when we were in New Zealand, which we got to watch. Guess what? At the triathlon we saw an Israeli athlete. There were mostly Australians and Kiwi runners. We also went to a place called Crossfire where you can do clay bird shooting, archery, mini golf, golf, and riflery. We got to do mini golf and archery. I got 6 bulls eyes. We also went on a hike/track to see sheeps and cows. I think we saw 5 sheep and 3 cows. It was a beautiful hike and the animals are stunningly beautiful too. Doing these activities are really fun, but they are more fun with Emma!Baca lagi

  • Disneyland & DisneySea Tokyo (by Andrew)

    2 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ 🌬 48 °F

We went to Tokyo Disneyland and loved the rides. We went on Space Mountain. Did you know that the people who made Space Mountain accidentally created a cookie in the programming. They let it stay in the program. We did not see the cookie. I think they may have redone the software. There were also some other rides like Big Thunder Mountain. I liked the part where you go through a waterfall. You only got a little misted on your head and lap. It has a pretty long line, but if you get up early, the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Even if you get up late, the line may be 40 minutes, but still it’s worth it. There is also a “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster” ride where you try to shoot the targets that have Zs on them. The circles with a Z on them are 100 points, a square with a Z is 1,000, a triangle is 5,000 with a Z, and last but not least the diamond is 10,000 points with a Z. If you go on the Buzz L ightyear ride aim for the diamonds. I loved it because first, the people are really nice, second, the rides are pretty fun, and third, they have so much popcorn!!!Baca lagi

  • Disneyland Tokyo (by Lewis)

    3 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ ☀️ 52 °F

A few days ago we went to Disneyland in Tokyo. My parents got us tickets as a birthday present for my brother and me. Some of my favorite rides there were Big Thunder Mountain, a whooping rollercoaster, and the Happy Ride with Baymax, which is Baymax driving you around in a triple figure eight. One of my favorite foods was the mochi dumplings with different flavors inside. It’s hard to believe, but they were shaped like the Little Green Aliens from Toy Story. My favorite flavor was the chocolate mochi.
Disneyland Tokyo was a lot more fun than Disneyland California. For example, there are a lot more popcorn stands in Tokyo than in California. The popcorn flavors are curry, salt, caramel, chocolate, cookie, and strawberry. Additionally, there is no line cutting. Everybody stands in long lines patiently. Something a bit unusual was that strangers wave at strangers all the time. For example, when I was waiting for Mom and Andrew to finish going on Raging Spirits, almost everyone that went by waved at me. There may be less rollercoasters in Tokyo, but there are definitely more activities to do in Tokyo than in California.

  • Skiing with Ms. A in Japan (by Andrew)

    6 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ ⛅ 43 °F

We took a train to Niseko, Japan and skied there. Niseko is on the island of Hokkaido. There are 4 peaks to ski off of. The 4 peaks are Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu, and Hanazono. My kindergarten teacher came to see, and ski with us. Her name is Aimee, but we call her Ms. A. The ratings for the tralles are, green is easy, red is intermediate, black is more difficult, and double blacks are most difficult and experts only, but they are not usually on this mountain though. The blue trails, as we know them, are red here. I like the reds the most, but that’s just my opinion.I loved skiing here. I love it because it has powder, nice staff, Ms. A came, and great trails.Baca lagi

  • Skiing in Niseko with Ms. A (by Lewis)

    7 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ 🌙 39 °F

After Disneyland, we went to Niseko and skied there. The conditions were great, and by great, I mean it was really powdery. The blue square trails that we Americans know, are red square trails in Japan. There are lots of trails to choose from, escalating from green circles to black diamonds. At the summit it's very foggy in the morning, but clears up a small bit in the middle of the day and then fogs right back up. I couldn’t see anywhere within, at most, a 20 foot radius. I felt a little bit creeped out up there. Not only that, but Ms. Ankeny was also with us. Ms. Ankeny was my second grade teacher. We had lots of fun together. I’m looking forward to skiing with Papa in Japan and reading with Gramma when they arrive in 4 days!Baca lagi

We went to Niseko, Japan to go skiing, and my grandparents came to ski and see us. We had a powder day and we skied in the trees. Papa, my grandpa, loves skiing, but my grandma hurt her leg. I liked to go to the onsen with Papa after skiing. In the men’s onsen, there were three pools, one cold bath, one a little hotter than lukewarm, and one was so hot if you jump in it than hop out you would be steaming. The sushi was really good, and the people are nice. On the last day of skiing, I went night skiing with dad. Skiing was so much fun, I would do it 24/7.Baca lagi

  • Uncle Mike's Visit (by Lewis)

    18 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ ☁️ 46 °F

While in Japan, Uncle Mike visited us. While he was with us, we went to the Teamlabs there. The Teamlabs had two different sections; the first section that you go into is the water section. There are parts of the water section where you are up to your ankles or knees in water. Another part of the water section has giant strings of LED lights hanging from the ceiling. After that, you emerge back at the start and go through the plant section, which was not as interesting as the water section. After that, we went to the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. An interactive exhibit there represented the internet and how the exhibit works using black and white balls on ball runs. I’m pretty sure black was one and white was zero. Did you know that 1’s and 0’s are binary code? Binary code is the language computers and other electronics use. Another exhibit there is a “create a world” and send the world through obstacles to see if your world survives. Before Unc Mike came, we went to a Pokemon Center. While we were there, I bought an Eevee stuffie which I nicknamed Vee-Vee and a sixty card Pokemon pack. The pack wasn’t as exciting as I thought because most of the cards were energies and trainers. I thought the Pokemon Center would be a whole mall building, but it was just one floor of a small underground mall. I still can’t wait until we go to the Pokemon hotel!Baca lagi

  • Tokyo and Tsumago (by Andrew)

    21 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ ☁️ 64 °F

We went to Tokyo, and Uncle Mike came to visit. We got to go to Teamlabs with Uncle Mike. Teamlabs is an interactive art exhibit. In Teamlabs, the first part is walking in water uphill. The water is very shallow so little kids can go in the water. There are more water areas that are deeper than the first one which are about a foot to a foot and a half deep. People 3 years old and under should not go in the deeper water. After Uncle Mike left, we went to Tsumago. We hiked 3/200 or 1.5% of the old samurai path, called the Nakasendo path. At our ryokan (old Japanese hotel) in Tsumago there were onsens. Onsens are hot baths and I loved them. Tokyo and Tsumago were super fun and Uncle Mike made it more fun.Baca lagi

  • Macaque/Snow Monkeys (by Lewis)

    22 Mac 2023, Jepun ⋅ ☀️ 72 °F

During our time in Japan, we hiked through a bamboo forest and saw some macaque monkeys. Their limbs are very similar to those of humans; they even have fingerprints. The fingerprints act as a cleat for better traction for gripping objects. Their rear limbs look and work just like the front two. That's why they can climb up trees with ease. They even have a flat nail just like us, which enables them to grab and hold small objects and food easily. This flat nail is only seen on humans and species of monkeys. I think humans and monkeys are actually quite alike.Baca lagi
