    Kuala Lumpur

    June 9, 2023 in Malaysia ⋅ ☁️ 32 °C

I went to Kuala Lumpur for my visa run. It was a cheap flight and I didn't need visa to enter the country. I only spent 2 days. The firt one I got to the hostel, went for some food, and then I visited a Chinese temple that was not too far. I went there by taxi since the bus never appeared. My taxi driver also went inside with me and took many pictures of me what was nice cause I don't have many. Then back at the hostel I met some mexican guys and we took few beers together. The next day I went with the girls in my dorm to bathu cave, an Indu temple that is pretty cool cause it is in a cave and you have to go up through colorful stairs and there is a huge human figure at the entrance.
After that we went to chinatown and got some food. And then, we walked around the center. We went to see the towers and stay for a bit in a park close to them.
I went back to the hostel, I decided to go to the airport that night cause my flight was super early and the public transport doesn't work at that time.

    Langkawi

    July 25, 2023 in Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

When I arrived at the hostel where I would be volunteering in Langkawi I thought It would be a time for me to just sit down, read, meditate and relax. For me, it was a really random place to be. When I left Mexico, I never imagined going to an Island in Malaysia. But nothing on this trip has been really planned.
I had a blast here. It wasn't much because of the place but cause the people I got to meet.
The first volunteers were Angel from Australia, Michael from US and Laura from Romania.
I got to get along with Angel and Michael (even when he wasn't a talker) but they only stayed there for about a week. Fortunately, Bruna (from Brasil) arrived few days after me. This girl made my stay incredible. Since we met we started spending time together and soon we became so close. People use to think we were traveling together cause it looked like we met for long time.
The night before Muchael left, we went out to a night club, and after, for a swimm in the ocean. It was so fun!
Michael lost his glasses and as he spent so much time looking for them he lost his flight.
Bruna and I went for groceries and started cooking to save some money. The food was AMAZING! She used to prepare either rice, pasta or noodles with chicken or eggs while I was making us a salad.
At first, we spent so much time watching this 6-seasons-series called "Schitts creek". We were really into it. Took us about 10 days to finish it.
We also went out to visit some places on the island. This guy from UK invited us to go with him to the sky cab that is really famous in Langkawi. I enjoyed a lot that day, although I was so scared because of the heights.
When we were at the top on the mountain, we saw how a monkey stole someone's icecream while this girl screamed from the top of her longs.
The second time we went out, we met these two local girls who were super nice. That night they took us to another 3 bars after "One love" closed.
Everytime we went out, next mornings we were really hungover and used to go get McDonalds.
Bruna left the 18th. I thought once she was gone I would be just at the hostel or the beach near the hostel, reading and spending time on my own. But next day, Favio, an argentinian guy that was also volunteering at the hostel invited me to go to the beach at the north of the island. And the day after, some of the guests (from Qatar) took me with them to a view point.
At the end, I also spent some time with Tomoko, a japanese woman that was traveling (volunteering) with her son.
I left the 22nd of august, to go to Bali.
