Bangers and beans to start the day. The coffee was surprisingly good. Joe also had toast and marmite 🤢

We all hardly slept. The time adjustment and shit air conditioning were a brutal combo.

Voyageur It really wasn’t too bad. The coffee was good. Joe enjoyed the beans and sausage. Parts of the scrambled eggs looked like mushed penne pasta but… all things considered ok. You were right about English food though E. It’s not great in general at the average place.

You can’t smoke at Davidoff of London (but the shop was lovely) so we headed up the block to James Fox instead. The friendliest staff. Comfortable lounge. Oh, and Ralph is sitting in WINSTON CHURCHILL’S CHAIR. This place had the Royal Warrant for a very very long time, right up through to the Queen Mother. After that no royal warrants were issued for tobacco. We seized the opportunity to get Cubans, which we enjoyed with our new Welsh friend John.En savoir plus

What an experience. The hotel is gorgeous, the service above and beyond.

Met the guy we saw on the Prime documentary about the hotel. So nice.

Men - if it’s too warm you’re screwed. If you take your jacket off they’ll require you to put it back on. However, women - apparently a graphic t-shirt is just fine.En savoir plus

The cigar sommelier (yeah, he’s got a pin just like a wine sommelier) welcomed Ralph by name when we arrived.

Classic hotel. World famous gin martinis. James Bond inspired cocktails.

Nick saw the bar on a documentary and recognized the bar manager. He was pretty excited to watch the martini process unfold.

The bartenders were Italian and enjoyed our banter. Met more Americans (from Fresno) plus an Oxford couple. The husband was Scottish and his accent was divine.En savoir plus
