Hastings - finding ancestors

Well what a great day!!! We drove to Hastings to visit the cemetery and I found G-G-Grandfather Thomas Long and G-G-Grandmother Elizabeth Long, as well as three of their sons.

The hotel we stayed in, opposite the Cathedral, was destroyed in the earthquake....but seeing the Cathedral still in ruins is so sad.
PengembaraIt is Bev. I don't understand why it's taking so long. After the 1931 earthquake it only took 2 years to rebuild the entire town of Napier. How times have changed since the good old days of the Great Depression 😒
