  • EBS Offshore operations at L7

    28 ottobre 2022, North Sea ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

With more than 70 specific environmental stations to fully cover the L7 field, the EBS is focused on the platform's close surroundings, and up to 50 meters away, and also the OBM wells and infield locations.

    The main operations were:
    - Camera transects of the seabed to observe macrofauna/biodiversity
    - Seabed sampling by means of a Day Grab as depicted in the above picture
    - Seawater sampling at different depths by auto-triggering bottles
    - Collecting Plankton
    - eDNA sediment & water samples

On the 11th of February, the 1st offshore removal campaign started after more than a year of tendering, engineering and preparation!

Plan is to disconnect all the jackets of the L7 field from any pipeline, anti-scour frame and cables to allow complete structure removal in the future!

For that purpose, the Olympic Delta from ReachSubsea has been selected, for a campaign lasting approximately 28 days!

  • L7B&BB preparations

    31 ottobre 2023, North Sea ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

On the last day of October we completed a 3 week preparation campaign on L7B/BB.
This iconic platform is our most challenging; home to a large seagull colony we had to wait for the breeding season to end. Moreover, a guiding system is being installed to replace the lower topside with a brand new module for CCS redevelopment .
All in all, the platform is ready for the 2024 heavy lift campaign!

  • One more dual lifting day at L7-CC!

    10 maggio 2024, North Sea ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

On Thursday the 10th of May, two more modules from the L7-P & L7-Q platforms were taken away from the L7 Central Complex and safely brought back to transportation barges, moored at Den Helder.

By lifting the remaining of the living quarter top modules, the first barge of the year 2024 had been completed and carefully towed to Vats, Norway for further recycling of the lifted modules!

While involving both the Matador 3 and the Hebolift 10 for a sequenced operation, achieved within 12hrs, the transportation barges at Den Helder followed a similar sequence, with the first barge departure and following arrival to accommodate the freshly lifted L7-P module.

Seven more offshore lifts to go for the 2024 year!
