Helped Rhea strap her bed and mattress to the roof of her car.
Then she headed off to Whistler. I said have a good winter and she said shes sure we'll catch up but I doubt it during winter. Brenda mentioned Christmas, I dont know if that meant me too, but I'd probably have to work.
Anyway it's all good, it's not like we could have actually dated or anything, I just really wanted to cuddle her and be able to hug her freely. Especially when she was all stressed out. Just wanted to randomly pull her in and hold her when I could.
This too will change.
Brenda was tired after Rhea left, had an early day. Might not be working tomorrow but we'll see.Baca selengkapnya

What do Horses eat?

Was potentially going to have the day off today, but bert picked me up about 10.
We went and counted all of his hay.
Turned out to be a sunny day until the afternoon when it hid a bit of rain while brenda and I took the dogs for a walk.
I cleaned out all the gutters and helped brenda out at the crow.
Rhea is smashing me in candy crush.

Finished my book, the dry. Been reading while I wait for a new life in candy Crush.
Helped Brenda out at the crow, jus moving things round and cleaning out the green house.

Floor cleaning

Brenda and bert went to kamloops today, so met brenda at the crow around 8 so she could tell me what I could do for the day.
Mostly just cleaning and waxing the floors. Listened to sam Harris' podcast the whole day. Finished about 2:30 and just played candy crush and read for the rest of the day. Getting back in track with my meditation which is good.Baca selengkapnya

Not the regular kind of shelving. Set up the shelve I got from the crow in Brenda's shop.
Pretty relaxed day. Again just listened to podcasts.
Took the dogs for a nice walk.

Scott from next door who has been a faller for like 40 years taught me to use the chainsaw and we cut up a bunch of fire wood for bert and brenda.

First Snow

Woke up to my first snow fall. Was warmer in the morning then yesterday though even though it was still snowing.
Split a bunch of the wood we cut yesterday while Scott cut a bit more.
He took a full load home for himself.
I then put the insulation under the new deck for the rest of the arvo.

Insulate and split

Started a little earlier assay 8 am. Finished the insulation under the deck. Then I split all the wood that had been cut. Been listening to alot id podcasts walking up which gave been very interesting. Wood like feel over a couple of time which read frustrating.

Brenda and I went for a hike up to lookout mountain as she calls it. Didn't exactly know where we were going, it was kind of lucky I had my h GPS so we didn't make it to the top but had a cup of tea and lunch up there. Really nice walk, love chatting with Brenda.Baca selengkapnya

Got wood?

Got into a bit of a discussion with Jordy and Kane about Sam Harris being peddler for the alt-right. That was interesting.
Just kept bring up all the wood we cut and stacking it. The stack with all the whole logs rolled out a few times. Finally figured out how to make a good end on the third row. Lots of fire wood.
Bert pulled up next to me and asked if I was doing ok, he thought I looked a little bit down. I was fine though. He said he appreciated all my work and that I read going a great job. He's very kind.Baca selengkapnya

Worked with Bert most if the day today. Helped him fir chains for th truck. Cutting links and moving hooks and stuff. It was good.

Final Day on the Ranch

Fairly normal day. Took down some Christmas lights from the house and tried to put them up around the big work shop. Made a big burn pile of scrap wood. Went for the last dog walk and fed fizz job and the new horse, squirrel. Went out for Chinese for dinner again. Bert had to go to a cattlemen's meeting so didn't ready with us. They paid me a thousand bucks which is over a hundred more than I was owed which read nice of them.
Doing pretty well in terms of money, cause I'm making it.
Finished Nuk Tessli, a book about a woman living in the wilderness of BC just north west of here. Very inspiring, one day I want to do the same.
It's been great living and working here. Have been reading lots, keeping up my meditation, not drinking, and being fed amazingly well!
It's good to have come here first for the jor dining bit because now I have a bit behind me I hope I find it easier to keep not drinking now that I'm going to be in a hostel in a ski resort. Challenge ahead.Baca selengkapnya

Big White!

Left at about 8 to start driving to big white. Saw where bert grew up and got the family history. Got here at aboot 2 but couldn't check in until 4. The hostel is in a great spot, which means my place is going to be sick. It's good being in the hostel to start, meeting a bunch if people. Played cards and went down to the pub. Made it not drinking which I was happy with. Finding it hard to meditate because there's no real privacy.Baca selengkapnya

Day One

Had a bit of a sleep in which was nice. Went for a bit of a walk through the village and stuff. Pretty nice place, very small. Think I might sign up to a season of yoga. Played cards most of the afternoon. Girl walked into the tv room to clean it and got a but of shock when I was just sitting in the corner meditating haha. It was hard this arvo trying to meditate on my bed cause everyone was drinking getting ready for the friday night.
Its definitely less fun not being in the drinking games etc, but it's only temporary. Not drinking means I can do more in the future, wake up and do stuff do stuff tomorrow morning, afford more gear and adventures later on.

So about half an hour after I wrote that ^ I was just sitting around chatting with people pre drinking and then turns out Lis isn't drinking, and she was going to yoga tonight. So I tagged along and went to yoga. Ash who I met with Daria this morning, so she was there. I was thinking of inviting Daria too, probably should have.
Smoked a bowl with Lis agyer yoga and then I went to Sessions because it's big on a Frida night.

Didn't end up going to Kelowna to get my skis done but my lift fell through. Ended up using the iron in the hostel. Good enough job to go touring tomorrow, signs like its mostly skinning tomorrow.

Ski Tour, hip hop

Met Nathalie and her friends down at happy valley to start the days tour. She and one of the other guys are both ultra marathon runners so it was a pretty quick pace and persistently moving. It was a beautiful day and great to get out there. Was mostly on the resort though.
Nice to be in some powder. I was pretty wrecked by the end and when I stopped it really hit me. Grabbed a burger with nathali at sessions and invited Daria down too, turned out they already knew each other from hip hop. Daria is very cool, she's doesn't really drink or party, meditates and earrings to do yoga too. I went to the hip hop class with her, it's a routine for a flash mob which will be cool. Met some other people she had met, going to have a games night with them. Nathali said she was having a games night too.
I'm liking not drinking, meeting cool people and doing fun things.Baca selengkapnya

Clothes swap

Had an early morning start for big orientation with all of the new employees of the mountain.
Rhea replied to me saying that I was here id she wanted to talk about what was weighing her down. Turns out Rob had cheated on her and she found out after a lot of partying. Poor Rhea, that's gotta suck. Even though it sounds like she knows its for the best, hate the though of her being sad.
I'm sure rob is kicking himself too, so I feel for him.
I did that thing where I try and fix the problem when they probably just want emotional support.
Told her to have dark chocolate and bananas. I dont know if I helped at all, just wanted to make her smile a bit, hopefully.
Got my season pass for the slopes.
Went to the hip hop class again which was fun, I was like the only one there except for a couple of new girls.
Watched a snowboarding movie on a huge outdoor screen. They were doing give aways. I won straight off the bat, got a jacket, wssnt anything special.
After the movie Daria and I went in together on a clothes swap competition and we won! Got some proper ski jackets which was very cool.
I invited her back to mine to meditate which was nice. I cooked a curry and she stayed for dinner. Shes really cool, I really like her. Now I'm in that weird stage of not know or being able to move it to the next stage. Would love a cuddle.
Feels conflicting now that Rhea is single because I would love to do something with her after the winter season but could also see myself wanting to out with Daria.

Didn't end up moving into the apartment until 5pm, do just hung out in the hostel all day and watched Netflix. Only have 5 books to read to make my reading challenge for the year.
My room is a little smaller than I thought but its still good. Amazing views and the living room is really nice. There's a games room, hot tub and mini library.
The setup under my bed is great for reading meditating. Gareth seems pretty chill, the place is a bit run down but I dont care. I'm pretty lucky to have my own room it sounds like.
Rhea said she had some shit news and it was weighing on her. I just said hope it all works out and it's not too bad.
After meditating I thought I should just say she can talk anything through with me, I just didn't want to pry.
Had a nice catch up with fitz, sounds like he might actually make it to Canada next year which would be great!

Work started at 9, it was pretty boring, ugly uniforms but I'm definitely in laundry which is good!
Made it to half of the hip hop class because I went to Nathalie's place to play Catan, it was pretty fun, Nathalie won.
Did gratitudes with Rhea which I think was positive. I think she is doing better, I hope she is.
Meditation is regular now. I have to be careful not to want to be focused more than I am, it really tricky.Baca selengkapnya

Opening Day

Its opening day for Big White! Had another bit of orientation stuff with HR, then went to my hotel to learn to make rooms up. Pretty chill day. I'm definitely in laundry though except fridays when I'm doing the common areas.
I have PM shifts k ok Monday and Tuesday and have Wednesday and Thursday off which is almost like the most perfect shifts I could get.
4 days of skiing mid week to avoid weekend crowds.
Going to games night again tonight.
Really want to kiss Daria, I keep telling mysf I will and then I freak out at the last second. Dont live by fear, going to ask her next time!Baca selengkapnya

Today was probably my first real day of work. I was on commons so basically cleaned the whole hotel that isn't in the rooms. Got my skis tuned and they look pretty good, I'm excited to get out there! Bought a tuning/waxing kit too so ill start doing that as well.
Finally finished my fucking COLT essay! Only took an hour, should have done it ages ago.
Got into the spa too, so had a dip which was nice.
Waking up by Sam Harria is wigging with my meditation a little bit but I'm doing well.
Have to just ask Daria for a kiss! Getting a bit ridiculous, even just typing this now gets more heart rate going with nerves/fear. Not much scares me or at least stops me from doing something because of fear, this shouldn't be any different. She'll say no, so what, shes pretty cool that I dont think it would change anything anyway.

Foosball

Still didn't really get a proper day in the laundry. Helped out with housekeeping most of the day because there wssnt much laundry.
Finished at about 1 and headed for a few runs. It was good to get out but a bit tracked out.
Invited Daria over to play foosball and pingpong. She was pretty arrogant about playing foosball, and boy did she have a right to be. She was so fucking good. She made me an apple crumble which was really good and really nice of her. Didn't kiss her... again.
Next time haha
I'm thinking tomorrow after hip hop class, do eyes open meditation and then kiss her after that. Or do the card trick where I flip over there card but instead of betting $20 bet a kiss.
Meditated with Gareth, taught him the awareness exercise.
Made a good Dahl.
Nathalie said she would pick up my groceries from kelowna if I order them online which is sick!

Fucked it

Had first proper day in the laundry, it's so chill.
Played games at will and Nats place before hip hop. The routine is looking good.
Daria ended up coming back to play ping pong but it was locked for some reason so we played cards. I did the magic trick and bet her a kiss if I got it, she winced when I said it but said ok because she thought the card had already gone.
Any way gave her a kiss. Stupid trying to trick her into kissing me, should have just asked her.
I feel better having at least done, no I know I guess. But I still want to talk it through with her because I like hanging out with her and dont want that to stop.
Oh well, good meditation practice, observe the attachment and craving I developed for a hug and dont let it bother me.

Foot bed

Had my first full day skiing today. Got out there pretty early. Did a group lesson which read really helpful. Scott, who I met at Nathalies place, was my instructor. He was really good. Had lunch back at home, it's so good can ski in and out easily. Got a foot bed made for my boots, they had really good service. They feel pretty good. Had my first night shift at laundry. Nathalie picked up my groceries which is super convenient. I had to leave work and meet her, took almost an hour. Stretched out the laundry so I can get my hours. Played alot of candy crush, listens to "my dad wrote a porno", meditated for an hour. I think it literally have the best job on the mountain.
Feeling a little awkward about Daria, hope it doesn't change anything, still want to be able to hang out and play ping pong and stuff.Baca selengkapnya

About 15cm of snow over night. I was on one of the first lifts. Great first few runs. Really poor visibility all day though. Its was good practice in the conditions. Practiced what I learnt in the group class, feeling pretty good.
Ran into Daria a few times and did a few runs with her.
Wasn't awkward or anything which was good. Still going to apologize though. Got to work at 3:30, could have been done at about 4. Stretxhed it out to after 9:30.Baca selengkapnya
