旅行者Peregrino is the Spanish word for pilgrim. I think a very small percentage of walkers are on an actual pilgrimage, but that's what they are generally called.
So, were you in the wrong room, or did they have another room to sleep in? Did the other couple speak English? [Ann]
旅行者They had the other bedroom, which was locked, and we thought it was an adjoining unit. They were Spanish, but spoke pretty good English.
旅行者Hi Ann. Yeah, most of the locals (and tourists) seem to speak at least some English....a lot more than our Portuguese 😉
旅行者Hi Ann. Updated reply. In Lisbon and Porto a lot of people speak at least some English, but in other areas there seem to be a lot less English speakers. Google translate comes in handy, and also a bit of guess work 😀
