We are diving along a flat plain when we suddenly descend into a deep gorge, this one the Ziz Valley. There's a river running through it with palm trees either side, a real oasis. On the south sideLeer más
We arrived at our Kasbah hotel, and after resting in the pool for a couple of hours we went for a camel ride into the dunes. Fantastic colours and so quiet.
Well into the dunes we stop and climb to the highest dune, and what a view we get of the sunset.
We get up so early we see the fantastic sunrise over the desert. The early start is due to the jeep Safari into the desert and surroundings which a few of us are going on.
We skirt along the edge of the large dunes heading south.
Further along we come across an area which is used for keeping the camels, used for the dune rides, overnight . There must be about a hundred.
We continue on and go around the end of the high dunes, which are 25 km long by about 5 km wide. We go east onto a huge windswept plain, only 7km from the Algerian border, and visit one of the nomadLeer más
On our way back to our Kasbah hotel we visit a small Kasbah and listen to some music by the 'Groupe Deg Bambarag' in Dar Gnawa.

We leave the desert Kasbah and travel south. After a long journey we have a short stop in a small village synonymous with dates, and buy some, after sampling a few 😋.
