    Check In Chaos.🇨🇭

    November 3, 2023 in Switzerland ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

Am halbi 4 hend mi sTaxi Sabi + Manu dur de zürcher Stau, an Flughafe chauffiert. dWarteschlange am Check In isch den jedoch no einiges schlimmer als de Stau in Züri gsi. Will de Flug uf Istanbul mit 26 Lüt überbuecht worde isch het eis Chaos gherrscht.

    November 5, 2023 in Turkey ⋅ 🌙 16 °C

Irgendwenn ischs den glich mal no losgange. Read more

  • Table Mountain.⛰️

    November 11, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

De Table Mountain isch eis vo de bekanntische Wahrzeiche in Kapstadt. Demit mir rechtzitig zum Sunneuntergang on the Top of the Mountain sind, hanich mich mitere Gruppe mit fascht nur brasilianische Studente am 15:00 Uhr uf de Weg gmacht. Mitm Uber simmer richtig Table Mountain gfahre. Wommer bi de Talstation ahcho sind hend zerscht mal alli dJagge müesse montiere will en ziemlich chalte Wind gange isch. Weder e Ussicht no en Sunneuntergang het üs wie erhofft da obe erwartet.

„Improve and use your english every time.“
This is the statement from our english teacher. So, now i will try to tell you the impressions from cape town in English. 🙉

Last saturday morning Adilson and I went to the neighborhood market before we hiked up table mountain. At 10 o’clock Adilson picked me up by my flat. The market wasn’t far. The way to the market didn‘t take us longer than 15min in an Uber. The whole market was outside, the location was amazingly decorated and the differet food that we tasted, was delicious. 🌮🍱🥭

  • Clifton Beach. 🌞

    November 15, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

After school we went to Clifton Beach. For Fabienne, Jenny and me it was the first day at the beach since we arrived here. Rakkah und Keynes have been here for 4.5 months and both of them were at the beach, but not in the water. It is the atlantic ocean and the water feels so freezing. Keynes and me stayed in the water for about 20 seconds and Rakkah was in there for more than 15 minutes.🥶 We relaxed four hours at this beach. Before the sun finally set we walked to Camps Bay which was next to Clifton beach.🌞Read more

„Friday is our day.“ First statement in class when i arrived. Thanks Aloma you made my day. ✋🏼😂
After lunch we went to Kirstenbosch. Kirstenboschs Botanical Garden is designated as one of the largest botanic gardens in the world. The garden had a lot of specialis collections of plants. Different exotic plants, alpine plants, tropical plants, plants from all parts around the world. The plants labelled with their names and their ages. The part which i prefered was the herbal garden. The herbs smelt so deliciously fresh. Mint, thyme, oregano, rosemary, chives etc. everything we need in our kitchen.🌱 We stayed 2.5 hours in this garden, for me more then sufficient.Read more

  • Open Air Cinema, Kirstenbosch.

    November 17, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ 🌙 18 °C

The doors to the open air cinema openend at 6pm. Fortunately, we stayed there too early. After 6pm got it crowded and the queue took much time. We received our chairs, a blanket and a bag with popcorn, afterwards we chose a place to sit. Food stall were availabled all over this place, so everybody found something to eat. 🥙 We were thankful that we got a blanket because it was windy and not so warm. At 8pm the movie „finding nemo“ started. Three morals of this film that we learned in class are ‚the importance of teamwork, your difference don’t define you and our parents will never give up on you.‘ Such a popular movie that everybody knows, except Rakkah. 😂 The location was great, the mood and the whole evening also.✨Read more

Sometimes i reckon we are in Brazil and not in South Africa because everywhere are brazilien guys. 🇧🇷😄
I booked a wine tasting tour with 5 brazilian. At 10am the shuttle bus picket us up by the Good Hope School. After 1.5 hours by car, we appeared by the first winery, „the Lanzerac“ in Stellenbosch. Firstly we started with a cellar tour which was guided by one of the estate‘s expert. Afterwards we chose a place outside. In a relaxed atmosphere by the breathtaking views of the Stellenbosch valley, were we eating fresh bread with chees and meat while we were tasting wine.🍷🧀 We tasted 11 types of wines. • Winery 2 & 3. 🍷🥴

    November 25, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

After 35min by car, we arrived at the second winery which was called „fairview.“ Fairview is a working farm and they set up their focus on creating sustainable products with a focus on wine, cheese and other fresh farming products. The location was astonishingly decorated. We were tasting wine while the experts were telling us the stories for each wine. We tasted 6 distinct wines again. It was very interesting but after that many glasses of wine, i forgot each story.😂🤦🏻‍♀️
The last stop was on a farm. I remember the name „hunting lions“ or „Löwenjagd“ but i can‘t remember how many wines we tasted. As far as i‘m concerned we had four or five glasses. Finally we were totally drunk and everybody slept or snored on the homeway. Fortunately, Peter our driver threw us out at a pizzeria which was next to my flat. We ate pizza and after dinner the world looked much better.🤭

  • rewarding experience.🍜

    November 30, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

Today i went to the soup kitchen in the south of Cape Town. It is an activity from the school but unfortunately, not many students decide to volunteer at the soup kitchen because they don‘t understand why they have to pay for a voluntary work. Cape Town has more than 14000 homeless people, a lot of them are also children. The charity buy food with our donation and allow them to eat a hot meal for free. We served more than 50kg of rice and lentils. Voluntary work doesn‘t make us rich, but it gives you something more valuable than money. There is nothing more valuable than seeing the smiles of the children and adults, you‘ve helped.❤️

Today morning we hiked Lions Head. I was getting up when my alarm was ringing at 2.30am. I ate my breakfast, wore my clothes and afterwards i went to adderly street where i met the other students. Today i was also in a group with only brazilian students. Fortunately they were
strict and they didn’t talk in portuguese, just in english. Obrigada.😄 We took and Uber and drove in direction Lions Head. We enjoyed the hike about 1.5 hours and we were rewarded with a stunning view of the sunrise.🌄 The way downstairs was a huge challenge for the brazilians. I was glad when we safely arrived the ground. We went home, took a shower and afterwards we met us again in class.

Sunday morning, we were eating breakfast at the accommodation while Lorence, our tour guide, was giving us information about the day. Thirty minutes later, we left our lodge and drove in direction Riversdale, where the safari began. We drove in a 4x4 vehicle. The landscape was vast and quiet. Only the sound of the wind were blowing around us. Before we got into the vehicle, I asked our guide about the possibility of seeing giraffes. He said the possibility is only 2%, which disappointed Anna and me. Nevertheless, we were also excited to see other wild animals. Amazingly, we saw lions, cheetahs, zebras, buffalos, hippos, and rhinos which were wandering next to the road, just a few meters away from us.🦁 The highlight, we saw six giraffes nearby.🦒 Everyone was thrilled! After the three-hour tour we were hungry and went for lunch before we driving back to Cape Town. The Garden Route, a great experience that I can definitely recommend.🤗Read more

  • favorite classmate.🤍

    December 7, 2023 in South Africa ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

The time has passed so fast, rather too fast. Today is Rapha's last day in class, and tomorrow he will spend his last day in Cape Town. Rapha arrived two weeks after me at the GHS, and since his first day, he was my favorite classmate. Sympathetic, open-minded, kind-hearted, funny, and gay. 😂🌈 (-> no more questions, pls 😄)
I really liked this man, and it was always a big pleasure to spend my time with him. Every morning we went together to school, and he always laughed at me when I stopped at the fruit stand to buy fresh fruits. He joked about my morning muesli routine, and he couldn’t imagine eating a healthy breakfast like this.

As far as I'm concerned, he enjoyed this kind of breakfast, which I prepared for him on his last morning. 😄🍌🫐 After the most delicious breakfast that he ever ate, we went to Sunset Beach, where we met Victoria & Jenny. It was so windy, and the sand blew away and hit our skin. It was really painful, so we decided to spend our time with wine and snacks in Victoria's flat, which she hired for two days. The day went by. It was sad to say goodbye, but now I have one more reason to visit Brazil. Thanks, Rapha.🤍
