Dream in Santiago

So luckily someone was near the door to let us in as the digital doorkey wouldn't authenticate. Everything else went like a dream. We were part of the first 4 rows to disembark the plane. No baggage to wait for. Bus 6A just outside waiting and the hostel on the same bus route. I want to say it was down to meticulous planning, but it wasn't. The first morning

So up around 630am. I skipped a shower for extra minutes especially as I know I was awake past 1am. 3km walk before we even actually start the official morning but at least I have tea. This hostel ticks all the boxes.もっと詳しく

Night two

So really hot and very tough day. I walked so very slowly because of knee/hip injury achieved trying to stride the same length as Yolandi. Think I have a blister forming after day one (plaster on). I definitely have chub rub so changes have been made for tomorrow. Bonuses. Found a room with a swimming pool and found a bar with good home made chips and the football! England actually won! Today was 21km plus a few to get into Santiago. Tomorrow is 27km. Managed to book a room for four and sharing with two Americans, annoying Americans lol. But hey, it was the only room left in town. Now for our 5 hrs sleep before trying an earlier start to overcome the heat.もっと詳しく

Leaving at 5pm has made for a better walking day as we walked in the dark and cool and thats when I walk quicker. A strap on my right knee is helping considerably as are the leggings Yolandi gave me to use to overcome the 'chub rub'. 27km completed by 1230pm but a longer day tomorrow. Everyone is super friendly which is nice. Tonight we have a 430pm dinner and then chilling and then early night because up at 4am tomorrow. Definitely jealous of Ava's holiday.もっと詳しく
