So I found a nice place to land around 1945. Got camp made just before dark, I was kinda pushing it though. Made 7.2 miles in just under 1.5 hours. The river pushed me about 2 miles an hour withoutLue lisää

This camp site was perfect. I was serenaded to sleep by coyotes. Gonna be a wet one though

It has started to rain pretty hard. I think Cindy is about here. Lunch is dried fruit. Very yummy. I think more of these trips are in my future. Lots of wildlife out today.

I set up camp tonight much earlier than I originally intended. I paddled much slower today to try to stretch it out. I'm not used to paddling this little. I don't even feel like I've had a workout. ItLue lisää

I forgot to mention, I was gonna camp on the island, but when I got there, all I could see was hog sign. Entire areas were rooted up. I know that there will be hogs where I'm camped also, but at leastLue lisää
Chillaxing in the hammock

That's my oldest son's favourite term for relaxing. The weather has calmed down and I'm inside my bug net because the mosquitos are swarming. Reminds me of summers in Manitoba. There is a nice coolLue lisää

I've made it about halfway for the day. Been paddling hard. Checked the radar and it looks like I'll make it with some time to spare. If I have some extra time, I'll set up camp then paddle back toLue lisää

I'm worn out. Paddled 18.5 miles today in just under 4.5 hours. Beat the storms for the most part, it rained on me several times, and I had to fight a head wind almost all the way. My tarp is up andLue lisää

I made it back to camp, sat down and it immediately started to rain. Thank God for kind strangers. I got a lift part of the way in both directions. Now let the rain come. I need a shower reallyLue lisää
Storms have arrived

Well, the storms have arrived. I took a shower via a hard downburst of rain. Feel much better now. Just relaxing and reading a good book while listening to the rain on the tarp. And yes, that isLue lisää
