We leave Keep River National Park and return to WA. Now heading to check Lake Argyle out. We come across this - and call in. Glad we did, very interesting information about the pioneering family that has had such an impact on this area.
Also got to meet Patsy the resident Bowerbird (wild bird that has got used to people visiting) - he put on a lovely display for me, showing off his normally hidden pink head crest (used to attract female Bowerbirds). Very cute.
After we leave here I eat my sandwich for lunch, Roger had his before we left KRNP. Now heading to the Lake Argyle Caravan Park to purchase entry to swim in their Infinity pool. $10 each for 'day pass' for Infinity pool, and we have a drink at the bar/hotel while we're there - another $20. Have a great swim, then leave to go driving to look about the lake - we drive over the wall that was built to create the lake. Now ready to head back 'home' to our caravan.Meer informatie

Day 101 - Lake Argyle

What a way to wake up? What a beautiful place, so pretty and relaxing.

Went down to the base of the dam wall for a fish, quite a few guys trying but no success. It's not really surprising with the fast flowing water. Nice sitting in the shade reading my book.

Checked out the lookout over the dam, amazing how big it is.

Went back down the road to a crossing we noticed on the way in yesterday. Had a quick look, but apparently, it didn't look fishy.

Tried a couple of more spots but only saw one fish, which took Wayne's lure under a rock.....where it stayed. I offered to jump in and retrieve it. He was not impressed with my offer. 🤣

Little did he know, but I had 3 swims while he was fishing. Water was perfect temp and no visitors with big teeth. Apparently, the Ord River has a few 🐊.

Having dinner in the Beer Garden. Lovely couple of days.Meer informatie

Heute ein ruhiger Tag , baden im Pool , am Nachmittag Bootsfahrt auf dem Lake Argyle 72km lang und 54 km breit es gibt die Möglichkeit auch zu baden . Am Abend Essen im Restaurant .

The best end to a big day in the car yesterday, a cool off in this amazing infinity pool! The view is definitely worth the effort in getting here. Plus mumma decided dinner was being cooked by someone else, so we treated ourselves to dinner at the restaurant and was rewarded by live music and Oli having a play with some kids. Ein Pool mit fantastischem Ausblick über der Lake Argyle. Die Temperaturen liegen bei knapp 40 Grad, der Wind ist heiß wie ein Föhn.

Our first stop in WA was Lake Argyle - Western Australia's largest and Australia's second largest freshwater man-made reservoir. The reservoir is part of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme and is home to over 70 islands. It is classified as an inland sea and at its peak in the green season Lake Argyle holds a staggering 10.7 billion cubic litres of water at full supply level.
