Temperature: minus 3, then at 4 pm minus 7.

Our tour leader organised a tour guide today for the walk around Salzburg. We left at 8.30 am and our guide spent nearly 4 hours showing us around. It was a wonderful experience. We bused back to our hotel and had a cup of tea, and then I caught the bus back in as I wanted to see the parade. It really was hilarious as one of the grouches chose me to have some fun with, I couldn't stop laughing. I 6 up with Kerri and Ken, part of our tour group, and we walked together. It was a bit of a billygoat walk most enjoyable.Read more

Salzburg to Vienna.
Temperature: minus 8 and at 4.30 pm minus 1, but the weather man says it feels like minus 7 outside.

We left the hotel at 8.15 am and arrived in Vienna at 3.45 pm. It was a much longer day than anticipated. The train was over 1.5 hours late leaving , and it took a lot longer to get to Vienna because of the weather conditions. Our accommodation is a backpacker. We could have fitted our last bathroom into our room here.
Once we dropped off of bags, we headed out in the dark for a 3 hour tour of Vienna. Michael and I were too cold to look at the last place, so we headed back to close to our accommodation and had dinner. We managed well on the underground. Julia, a lady from our tour, joined us as well.

Mozartstadt SALZBURG, Tag 3

Alle Mitfahrer der Alpe Adria Radtour treffen heute Nachmittag gut gelaunt in Salzburg ein. Bevor morgen unsere Tour ab Salzburg an der Salzach beginnt, wurden die Gepäcktaschen vorbereitet, die eigenen Fahrräder gecheckt, Pkw zum Parkhaus gebracht....und wir haben sehr, sehr lecker gemeinsam - italienisch - gegessen.
Unser Hotel für heute liegt am Rand der Altstadt und lädt zum Spaziergang durch das wunderschöne Zentrum ein.
Die Sonne ☀️ ☀️macht heute mal Pause, jedoch sind wir für die kommenden Radtourtage zuversichtlich, dass das Wetter mitspielt.

Vilodag i Salzburg

Idag blev det en vilodag, med sovmorgon för min del. Därefter tåg till Innsbruck, då det regnade här men inte där. Lite normalt turistande gav 17000 steg, ett antal höjdmeter och en fantastisk god lunch med glass efter, och senare ett café-besök. Stans höjdpunkt besöktes naturligtvis (OK, igen, vi skippade allra högsta toppen men kom en bra bit upp ändå). Sedan lite matshopping och tåget hem för att förbereda morgondagens lite längre/tuffare tur! :-)Read more

Das Wetter ist heute leider sehr wolkig und windig, außerdem fühlt sich Ute noch sehr schwach durch ihre Corona Erkrankung, so dass wir uns zu einem kleinen Spaziergang entscheiden. Mit dem Auto fahren wir zum Leopoldskron Weiher und umrunden diesen mit schönen Ausblicken auf das Schliss Leopoldskron und die Festung Hohensalzburg von der ungewohnten rückwärtigen Seite. Auf der Rückfahrt kaufen wir noch Nudeln und Pesto ein, für heute Abend.Read more

We missed out on the guided tour of Salzburg but decided to catch a train there anyway. They certainly love their beer in Munich and Salzburg as quite a few people catching trains going to work swigging on a bottle of beer.
When we got to Salzburg there was a bus going to Hellbrunn,which was the location for the Sound of Music picture., so we jumped on. We walked through the gardens and came across the gazebo that was seen in the picture.
We returned to Salzburg and Ann took the funicular railway up to Hohensalzberg Fortress and I walked. After touring through the fortress we returned to the centre and walked through the streets before catching the train back to MunichRead more
