Driving 5 hours and charging for 1.5 hours? that is horrible, a regular car can drive for 8+ hours and fill in 5 minutes. Waiting an extra 1.5 hours is just bad for a short 5 hour drive. We are still decades away from EV cars having a realistic range. [BigBob]
Vegan EV TravellersI love driving this way. I would do anyway a break of at least an hour if I drive 5 hours. EV-driving is different...!
If nobody starts changing behaviour, our children will end up in disastrous times (massive migration, wars for food and water, ...). If your once or twice a year rush rush to the holiday spot prevails, continue what you're doing. In off motorway usage, my Fiat 500e consumes 11 KWh/100 km, this is the energetic equivalent of 1 liter/100 km with fuel. Adapting a relaxing life style is good for nature and for mental health. ПутешественникI found the fiat 500 hybrid 1L underpowered in Madeira last month on the steep inclines. Wished I had a bigger engine and an automatic transmission.
Vegan EV TravellersTbh - I am not too keen on hybrids in general. For me it's green washing. My Mucki already had been to the Abbruzzo without problems, it's very powerful. And downhill it's charging all by itself.
