    2018年1月29日, スペイン ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Headed to the big church 'La Sagrada familia' which is the biggest, unfinished Catholic Church in the world. It is monstrous. They need to trim the trees though because there was nowhere to stand that gave you a clear view of the whole thing which was disappointing.
Only God knows how much longer it will take and if it will even be in my lifetime but when complete it will be phenomenal. It was also designed by Gaudi.
He is big into the mosaics and the top had started being colored.
We didn't pay to go in. We will bother when it's done haha

We had maccas for lunch to try save money then headed for a long walk to park Guell which I was really keen to see because it's where I use to skate when I played the Tony Hawk game on PlayStation 😂

It was a 3km walk and all uphill. I actually think it was longer. We both agree the measurements my phone has been giving in Spain seem way off.

Anyway, we were so friggen hot. I only have my snow jacket and it was 18° today. Outrageous!
    Sweating like pigs.
We finally got there and I was really disappointed in the whole thing.
Firstly you have to pay which I didn't realize but we did because I really wanted to see (16€ combined)
We then had to wait for our time slot which luckily was only 15mins.
When we got in it was so crowded! You couldn't get any clear photos and it was very pushy shovey and half the damn thing was being renovated.😤
The mosaic tile stuff was really cool I just thought there would be more.
I saw what I wanted to see but turns out we needn't have paid. You could see it from the front.
    Alas.
The heat definitely added to our shittiness.
It was located in more suburban barcelona.
    So many Catalonia flags everywhereeeeee.

Got myself my Spain magnet :)
And we walked home - much better because it was downhill. Lol

We got reception to book us a table at a spanish resturant. These people have weird eating hours.
They don't open until 7:30 and it's not normal to eat then anyway.
Our hostel serves dinner between 8:30-9:30 which I think is really late.
So anyways we had to wait until 8:30 to go to the resturant.
Is was really expensive but we have said to ourselves in Porto we aren't gonna leave the house hahah

It was 35€ each and it was 3 tapas, a main, a dessert and 1 liter on sangria + complimentary tomato bread and champagne.
    Excellent value and food.
The tapas is really why we paid and they were sensational!! 🤤🤤

    Worth every penny.

We back home now and I'm keen for a snooze cause i didn't have my daily nap hhhaha

    2018年1月30日, スペイン ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Had a cute little acidic vomit during the night.
Well, not cute and not little.

This mornings horror is that it just cost us $35 for 2 whopper meals.
    Fuck you Europe.

We headed back to the Barcelona cathedral.
The cathedral is dedicated to Eulalia of Barcelona. A martyrdom during Roman times in the city.
She was subjected to 13 types of torture (one for each year of her life) and finally was beheaded. The story goes that when her head came off a dove flew out of her neck.
Because of this in the church courtyard are 13 geese - they did have doves but they kept escaping...hahaha

Her crypt was in the centre of the church.
Inside was lovely as churches always are.

This are is my favourite part of the city.

We then walked home for a poo break.

We were going to go to the Barcelona soccer stadium but it was just too much of a hassle. If we planned to actually go in it would be worth it but not to stand out the front.

We ended up walking down to the water instead.

    Lots of fancy pants boats!!
This section of the city was also nice. We walked along the beach boardwalk.
Lots of Africans selling shit BUT unbelievably they didn't hassle you!!!
    How it should be done.
We just watched our surroundings for a long time then walked home for our usual daily nap 😂

On our walk home we saw their version of arch de triumph and a massive protest. We walked around it but everyone had their Catalonia flags, yellow anything/everything and face masks of someone. I think their president who is currently hiding in Belgium 🤔🤔
Its all very messy and confusing lol.
It was cool to see all walks of life protest. There were a lot of very old people.

It doesn't sound like we do much (which we often dont) but today my phone tells me I walked 11.km and did 18,000+ steps.

Spain is a ridiculous place and they don't eat until very late. We signed up for the hostel dinner tonight because it wasn't seafood woohoo
At 9:30 it got served. It was delicious! 6€ each soooo goooood.

We spoke to some Americans and they were so loud we were the only ones enjoying their company ahhaha loved them.

We are in bed and the guy next to me reeks of weed!

We left the hostel at 7 and got to the bus station at 7:30. It was so easy to get to the airport - bless you Barcelona. Totally stress free.

Checked in no issues and went to have breakfast. Only one option - another $35 Burger King feed 😒😖

Caught a plane. We snoozed. I love the celebratory music they (Ryanair) play upon landing.

Got bags then caught a train 14 stops. We got out and walked the remaining 1.3km. All uphill. Standard. 😒

Our host saw us coming and greeted us at the door. He gave us the walk through of everything then he left.

We popped down to the supermarket to buy food for the next few days.
    Every one is super lovely.

Less English here. Often signs have it in small writing underneath important signs but that hasn't been the case yet. Or at least not obviously. The train didn't have any English.

THEY HAVE FRESH SLICED BREAD AND THIS IS THE GREATEST THING.

Europe has given a new meaning to "best thing since sliced bread".
Forever I have a new appreciation.

Europe has sliced bread but it's long life..... same wirh all their milk.... no fresh boooo

    BUT PORTUGAL DOES YAYAYAYAYAY

It was he best supermarket we have seen in a longggggg time.

Went home and showered for the first time in ages haha

Bath doesn't have a plug and I'm super devo about that.

Our hard drive doesn't seem to work on the tv which is crap but it was playing Zac and Miri make a porno. Hilarious movie. Probably my favourite Seth Rogen film. It was in English too 🤗🤗🤗

    Napped haha

Cooked lasagne or at least tried to. The power blew twice so we ended up turning the heater off and then it worked. Too many things on at once.

    Just chilling. ✌🏼

What a great day. We did squat.

I washed my hair and then we made eggs in the basket for lunch. Yummo.

We went to the shops and bought more salad and that was the excitement for the day.
We have just watched a bunch of tv.

We had lasagne for dinner again with rocket.

I hate to throw out the tomatoes unfortunately because the fridge froze everything and once a tomato has been frozen it tastes like ass. I learnt something today.

    Currently watching Speed. Good movie.

Got up at 10 to speak to mum and dad. So tired lol
Loved having the little heater on my feet though. Pleased the computer worked perfectly- it was being a bum in Ljubljana.
Didn't talk long. Too sleepy haha

    Got up at 1.

We popped down to the shops to buy more eggs for more eggs in baskets 🤗
Smashed it. I'm obviously a natural cook.

    Yummo.

I had an hour long shower. Got a complimentary shower cap so that is the best.
New favorite thing - I'll need to buy a rainbow one when home.

    We did nothing.

    Made dinner - tortilla wraps.
Had to unfreeze the avocado and sour cream in front of the heater lol.

    Avo was goooood.

Currently talking to Laura - she is gonna be a real champ and book us bus tickets to her house when she gets off work.
Well not her house at all - the closest bus is in Derry Londonderry which is in Northern Ireland. I have checked with her they don't check passports because it's still Ireland so our U.K. ban will not give us any issues lol
She lives a whopping 67km away from Derry and will come pick us up.
    Bless her socks

    2018年2月3日, ポルトガル ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

So the walking tour I booked didn't happen but we did go explore.
It was a 3km walk to the centre. I am genuinely surprised by how much I like this city. It's run down but beautiful. All the buildings are covered in tiles. It's wonderful.
It was all downhill which was great - it's the walk back that will be the bummer.

    Seriously though, the tiles. 😍😍😍

The main square had beautiful buildings too but that wasn't where the main attractions were so we kept walking.

Made it to the Ribeira square next to the Duomo river.
There were so many HUGE fish in the water. It was bizarre! They were all so big and yet no one was fishing them. You could eat for a year.
We walked across their famous Luis 1 bridge (similar looking to the harbour bridge) to get to the other side of the river to get a better view of the unesco port.
    Prettttty.

I bought a magnet that had tile patterns on it because it will definitely remind me of the city.

Along this side was a bunch of old boats with port barrels on them.

We found a resturant that sold a sort of sandwich thing we were told to try. It's called Francesinha. It's ridiculous. It's meat cheese more meat more cheese and I think some bread somewhere in there. It was sooo goood.
It was sitting in some sort of sauce. Either beer or port. It's traditionally beer but this tastes like port so 🤷🏼‍♀️
We loved the place EXCEPT they put bread and olives on our table.
They then tried to charge us for them. We were like uhm, no. We didn't eat them.
Or at least not the olives. Will had some bread because at he assumed the table bread would be free like it normally is.
I thought it was really dishonest especially after I told a waiter to take it away because we don't like them.
I don't think she understood but still. Not paying lol.
They took it off the bill.
Shouldn't have been there in the first place lol.

We walked back - on the way we found the most unexciting head hole picture thing (see photo - terrible description hahah) I had to get a photo. You normally replace a beloved character head.... this was not... why anyone would NEED to get a photo with this is a mystery.

Walked back home. Long walk 😅

Had a quick snooze infront of the mini heater. Saaaa goood.

We watched the illusionist - good film.

I had strawberries for dinner because our late lunch completely stuffed us both.

Uploaded today's photos to past 2 days too.

Also, we came across a random chicken on our travels.

I tried sleeping on the floor during the night but that didn't work out cause the mat is spikey and uncomfortable.
This bed is so flimsy and I'm just so scared it's gonna break like the one in Estonia 😂
It makes sounds everytime you move an inch. I have no confidence in its stability.

    Had strawberries for breakfast.

Today I finally got around to scrubbing the dirt off the arms of my white jacket - or at least made it look better.
It took me a fair while - it was filthy! Lol

I finally emailed uni. I can't for the life of me remember my username or password and that is what has made me take so long.
I hope they get my email - it says to contact them through my account but I can't get in....

Will wanted McDonald's (such a bad influence haha) so we walked 2km to get it to find a bunch of trees and garbage cans.
    Cool.

Walked another 1km to find a shopping center and we bought it there.
    Cheap compared to other countries.

Walked home and did a load of laundry.
It took 5 hours 3 hour wash 2 hour dry!
    Bloody hell.
Couldn't go to bed til it was done.

    God I miss home.
I miss things that work lol.
Today I tried showering for 30 minutes but the water just never got hot.
    Booooooo

We went out for some Portuguese chicken or as they call it - Chicken.... 😅
It was a very non touristy area.

Won't lie, disappointed. Fantastic price but the chicken shop in Granville kicks this places ass.
    It was just normal chicken.
It was funny eating chicken and chips in a proper resturant setting though haha

    Walked home.
I tried showering again because I needed to wash my hair - I settled for semi warm.

I have packed and we are now watching Big Bang.

We grabbed a pizza before because we were gonna have cereal for dinner but the fridge froze the milk.

I also registered for soccer. They needed payment before Feb 20th and as I won't be home Jess has Payed and I will pay her back in time.
    Outrageously expensive!!!!!

    What a day lol.

    Didn't sleep a wink.
As the alarm rang at 5:30 I wanted to have a little cry haha but I soldiered on like a trooper.
We left the house at 5:50 and walked to Lapa train station. All downhill this time yewwwww.
The lighting was actually really good so it wasn't as scary as it could have been lol.
At the station the 1st ticket machine wouldn't take our card - had to cross the tracks to the other one after attempt 4 also failed.
Our train came at 6:22 and it was about a 30 minute train to the airport or as they call it aeroPORTO HAHAhh classic pun.
My sleep deprived self found this very amusing.
We had to stand the whole way because the train was surprisingly full considering the abandoned streets.
Check in was open when we arrived.
As previously stated at nearly every passport check I was asked today "is this you?"
Of course it bloody is and even if it wasnt, like I would say no.

    Anxiety everytime it's examined.

I got pulled over for a drug/explosives swab at security. Not having good luck with this.
They swabbed my mobile too which I though was clever.

I had some shitty pasta for breakfast. Total garbage but at least something was in my tummy :)

We were priority again - we think it must be because we have checked in luggage but straight through we went. We then waited for 20 minutes outside which was dumb cause it was freezing.
It was because the flight attendants weren't even on the plane yet......... might wanna check that next time.

Oh oh but before we got on the plane I went to the loo and there was an add for sexy toilet paper.... is that really the best choice or words?

Ryanair has this funny symbol on its safety info and I still don't know what it is. It looks as if it's saying dont bring your earrings in an emergency landing. ??

Landing was a bit intense. It was one of those everybody claps landing because it was sooooo Icey! The whole place was just white.
Got out of the plane and it was freeeeezing. Some disabled person was leading the line so we all were snailing along in the snow to try and get indoors.

Bought out shuttle bus tickets - excellent signage well done airport! Lol
An expensive 34€ but to be fair it's like a 75km journey lol.
    It takes another 1.5hours.
Got a snippet of sleep on the bus (none on plane)

When we arrived then began the adventure.
We got on our first metro.

Well, Not before we bought tickets and I wasted one and had to buy another.....
I have become so accustomed to automated machines I put my ticket through and the door didn't open so I tried it again but then the ticket became invalid.
    I HAD TO PUSH HAHAHAHAH
    My bad and super embarrassing.

So first metro was easy until we got to our stop and the little audio announcement said line 4 is not running from this station.
But but but we need line 4 😓😓😓
We didn't really know what to do but made a split decision to get off the train.

Found a sign. Under maintenance. Only the stop we need of course....
We had to leave the station and walk through the blizzard up to the next station along.

Thankfully they were running from here.
But because we left a station we had to buy tickets again... 😪

Finding our platform was a joke. Will was cracking the shits big time.
I asked a shop keeper for help.
Silly us, we have to exit the station to find our platform 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
I asked if our tickets would work because I would have been so mad if they didn't cause they had already been used.
Thankfully they did. Took metro to hostel. At least our hostel was close then.

The weather was so bad we couldn't go back outside. We arrived at 4pm anyway so sunset was soon.
we were starving so we went next door to the pub for food.
    Then went upstairs and napped.

We had put our name down for the hostel dinner for 5€ each and it was great value.
We got a salad, pasta, garlic bread and a drink.
We were seated with such strange people though.
I was bonding with my eyes with the Canadian opposite me because whenever the guy next to me or the guy next to him spoke it was always so odd.
And our eyes said to each other 'yep, you heard that too' hhaha
The one next to me had mannerisms like mr bean. The man next to him was maybe 60 with rotten teeth.
We didn't want to talk but the guy next to me insisted on it and crapped on about everything.
He wacked his head at one point because he was telling a story about how he lost his passport. This was the moment I identified mr bean in him.
We escaped and went back upstairs.
I fell asleep at 8 and pretty much slept the whole way through woohoo!!

    2018年2月7日, フランス ⋅ ☁️ 0 °C

    Fantastic day. Truly wonderful.

Up at 11:30. I was in and out of sleep since 7 because everyone was so loud and some knob turned the lights on at 6.
    Bad hostel etiquette tut tut

We decided first we would walk 5km to the Eiffel tower.
But fist Will SNIFFED out McDonalds. I couldn't believe it. It was like watching a bloodhound.

The walk was so much fun.
I know last time I wasn't fussed by Paris but today was magical. I think the snow contributed to that a lot though.

It was so thick and everywhere! I loved the snow covered leafless trees!
Everyone is gonna have a cold bum when they have to get back on their scooters!! 20cm at least!

Just everything was white and it was great - it made the buildings look special.

We had a few snow ball throws and I made 2 snow angels 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
So many kids around the place having snowball fights and so many snowmen! Will made a snow rooster.

Paris has recently had really bad flooding and the river was still very high! The boardwalks you are meant to walk on are still completely covered and all the boat owners have made temporary bridges to their boats lol.

It wasn't exactly hard to walk on the ice/snow but you could really feel your legs working overtime to grip. Our shoes are the best. No wet socks for us.
Some idiot was in wedges. Like really, love?

Along with the snow there was a lot of sludge

We have seen a lot of statue on our travels but again, the fact they were covered in snow made it cooler.

Got to the Eiffel Tower and OF COURSE it is under construction too hahaha
It was closed so we couldn't go up.
Still could get beautiful photos though.

We both commented that is was more golden than expected and not harbour bridge coloured.

The top of it is quite ugly from a distance but fine up close.

We walked around a bit trying to find a good angle. Got some cute lil happy snaps so I'm pleased. He actually consented to photos today. Bless.

We walked around to the other side of it to get photos from a higher point. (Same point we got pics with school)
On the way there was a great hippie snowman that had flowers and boobs hahaha

    More photos more photos.

There was like no one there. Maybe 50 that's it.
Normally it's fairdinkum impossible to get photos without 100 strangers in your photos.
    Yay.

We walked another 2km further up to reach the arc de triomphe.

So many icicles hanging off banisters.

It's big. Looks like all arches but is extra famous so we got more photos and watched cars drive around.
    Not a bad centerpiece haha

We decided to then try our luck at the louvre.
We caught the metro (had to change once) but found it easily enough. It's a big enough deal that there are lots of signs.

Will was dying for a wee. 1.5€ toilet fee later...
    I hate you europe.
Australia would riot if you had to pay to use a toilet.
You shouldn't have to pay if you are going to get in trouble by going on the street. It's a non optional process.

Baaaaaah there was no line. Walked straight in.
    Unheard of.

Well a very short delay because we had to get screened at security but then straight through.

Went and bought tickets in another non existed queue. €15 each which I think is reasonable for where we were.

Followed the arrows straight to the Monna Lisa.
Let's be honest, it's why most people visit.

Only a crowd of 30 in front and I quickly got to the front.
    Also unheard of.
She was bigger than Will expected.

We then just dordled through the galleries. Some wonderful and others eh.
The only other one I recognized was the 4 fruit people (not official name 😂) by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

We didn't see everything. Our legs were sore - especially Wills feet cause his shoes are too small and because we wanted to get outside before sunset to get a picture with the glass triangle - which we then did.

    From there we walked home.
My phone tells me we walked 15.3km today.
27,513 steps. Not bad not bad.

As we were walking home I couldn't believe my eyes.
quite literally every second shop/ two of every three shops was a wig shop and/or a place that sold hair products and/ or a hair dresser.
I saw more wigs on this street than in my life.
Probably because every single person was black and they all have annoying hair so they braid or shave. Hence the wigs.
It's was out of this world.
What's more is every shop was full!

I would say 50% of Paris is black and 50% white.
    Both are prominent.

We arrived home and rested our feet for an hour before we went out for some Indian/Pakistani food.
    It was good.

Back home and so happy to be in bed in our little pods.
    I love my curtain 😍

Uploaded some of today's to yesterday.

Dad have you got my emails? I have sent like 6 because 4 bounced back then 2 said they sent but you haven't replied.
    I got yours today though..?
    enjoy the cruise guys :)

    2018年2月8日, フランス ⋅ ⛅ -3 °C

Anddd tonight we have a big snorer lol.

Woke up wayyyy later than we meant to.
We were ready to leave by 1 😅😅

We bought our tickets to the catacombs at reception for 11€ each - we got a discount for being under 26
    Yewww.

Walked to the metro and used our tickets from yesterday.
We got out at the halfway point to go see Notre Dame.
Because of my awesome hunch back I have been called quasiemodo before so I felt very connected to the building HAHA 😂😂😂
Great movie - watch when home. (Hunchback of Notre dame)

Before we went inside we got food.
Bloody hell what a rip off! Lucky it was nice but portions were some of that master chef crap.

Annoying family nearby too. Mum On phone and kid causing issues pissing of the waiters too. He kept bumping into our table.
    Shoo.

We then went back over and entered the church.
Stain glass galore but other than that not that amazing.

Walked around the circuit then headed back to the metro - our tickets worked again 🤔🤔 so didn't but another one woo

There was a lady who was completely trashed on the train. She physically pushed people off the seats so she could sit and was rambling. She was actually very well dressed considering her state. She didn't give off normal hobo vibes.

    Catacombs were opposite the metro.

We had such a confusing line up. No signage and we got told to change lines with 2 other American girls who also had tickets 3 separate times by 3 different workers.
We were like what the hell make up your mind.
The last time was when a worker told us to come back to our original line and took us through
    Come on mannnn.

Straight through and that was it. We didn't need supervision so it was a Self guided woohooo -

Will was a bit apprehensive because he thought he would have to duck a lot and we almost didn't do it because of this but the first bit (just tunnel no bones) was only a little bit to short. He had to lower his neck but not bend his back but there was also high sections where we could rest. When we got to the bones bit it was high enough the whole time.

The bone section was awesome. So aesthetically pleasing too. A lot of it was in patterns.

One was morbid as hell though.
Some one had arranged skulls into a heart.....

The tunnels went on for ages but you didn't grow bored rather you got more impressed by the amount.
So many tunnels were closed off too. You only see such a small portion and it's still so much!

We caught the metro home - ticket was still valid???
    🎉🎉🎉🎉

We chilled in our room before going next door for dinner.
    My Quesadillas were fantastic!

I have packed (Will still hasn't of course) and Laura just sent through our bus tickets for tomorrow.
    Last country tomorrow woohooo!!

    1 week with Laura
    1 workaway
A few days in Dublin then home!!

Told people to be quite at 6am cause they were just chatting away not even trying to whisper.
Another dude made comment that it's what you paid for, it's not a hotel.
Such a bad attitude. It doesn't mean you don't consider others.
Felt like waiting until he was asleep and start playing a drum set.
    "It's what you pay for"
    Dick.

We checked out and went next door for breakfast.
It was snowing so hard I was stressed our flight would be cancelled.

Went to station and bought tickets for €20 grumble grumble. We thought it was the same price as the last tickets - a lovely €2
We stood on the platform for ages not knowing what was happening because alllooooot of people were waiting with luggage. Time was getting on so I asked some
French people what the go was. They said that the train were delayed because of a fire but they would come.

10 minutes later an anouncment came over the speaker - trains not coming until 3pm....

Not sure if reason was snow or random fire. I am under the impression it was the snow.

Everyone's only option now was to get a taxi...... fk me.

We were happy though cause we asked for a €20 refund at the ticket place and they gave it to us. Ticket man said taxi could be about €50. 😓😓😓😪😪😪

We waited at the taxi bay. Everyone kept snaking the taxis. We found 2 people to share with.

After a lot of effort and aggression we got in a people mover under the agreement it would be 20€ each.

Didn't have another option so we got in.
We were facing backwards so Will was close to vomiting.
The dude opposite had coffee breath so that didn't help.
He dropped the first bunch of people at terminal 2 and I made comment €20 each isn't it.
HAAAAAA no it's €30. He changed it. It would have been nice if someone had translated this to us.
I was extra angry about it all because the meter read €45. The driver got €210. Total greed.

He took us to terminal 1.

    So much snowwwwww.

Check in was open though so it hadn't yet been cancelled..

Got through security. Bloody hell Will is useless. He went first and couldn't answer any of the security questions about our trip timeline. I had to yell out for him.
    Happy with my stamp.

Bought a magnet and we got a baguette each.

    Wait wait wait.

Boarded our flight with aer lingus. We had a good giggle at most Irish announcement ever.
Lady was like if these passengers are on board please make yourselves known

    McGreggor
    McDoughal
    McDonald
    McBride
    O'Larry.

They also had the head lady speak the security demonstration which I haven't seen in memory.

    Snoozed.

    Landed.

Converted some of our left over Croatian money and Jess' Icelandic leftovers. It covered our mornings taxi lol.

Went through security. I am going to make a review on google about stansted airport and mention our custom officers number from the U.K. because she had written in our passports we spend 6 months in the U.K. Which we did not.... that's obviously what she meant when she said we couldn't come back - because she has put us down for using all our allowed time.

This was not a problem because we had 10 other stamps proving that not to be true.....
    total wank.

Got our bags and had some dinner while we waited for our bus.

Found bus stop and waited 20 minutes.
Got on bus number 32 but was told it was the wrong 32.
Went to get on the next 32 but it was full.
Bus drivers had a chat and we got back on the first bus.

The plan was that at the halfway point we would swap back onto the correct bus. Cause that doesn't five me stress....

Changed bus about an hour in. It all went fine. Thankfully we weren't the only ones so we had people to follow.

    Total journey was 3.5hours.
Felt totally badass because we entered Northern Ireland which is part of the U.K. #illegalimmigrant

Laura met us with a sign and I drove us to her house.

Met her dog, Polar who is a white German Shepard.
Played with dog. Admired fireplaces then went to bed .

Woke up at 11 and brushed my teeth. Laura had to go to woke so I went back to bed until 1.
At 1, Laura's mum made us breakfast and holy crap, it was a feast.
We tried black and white pudding.
Didn't mind white. Black was yuckkk.
The rest was bacon, eggs, sausage, tomatoes and toast.

The Winter Olympics have started so we watched that.
Laura's mum (Susanna) left to run some errands. We continued watching in front of the warm fire.
    Putting coals in is fun.

Susanna came backs and we watched wales vs England in the rugby 6 nations. Susanna is very vocal. She does not like England lol.

She went and collected Laura from work at 7 and came back with Chinese food.
It was yum and they had satay chicken - first time in the whole 10 months.

Susanna left us and the 3 of us just chatted for hours before going to bed.
We leave tomorrow back to Dublin but lucky that came up when talking cause Laura had booked for the day after so she had to rebook for us.
He mum had full planned a dinner though ...

Bed time. The bed is like a king single and concave. I tried sleeping on the floor but it was so cold I couldn't do it even in 5 layers of clothes lol.

I was sick the whole night. Too much Chinese food 😅
Had a good vomit and probably woke up the whole damn household but it couldn't be helped.
I tried the floor again - yeahhh wasn't gonna happen lol.

Was up by 10:30 and Laura's mum put on the same feast. I really do like the white pudding. Laura didn't have work today so she joined us.

We then watched some more Olympics cause it was snowing.

I met their cat that isn't actually their cat...
    what a cutie!! Very plump.
She liked pats but isn't allowed in the house.

The fire hadn't yet been put on so I was freaking FREEZING.
They soon got it going for me. 😅

I enquired if we were going to do anything today or if the weather was too bad but it cleared up so we headed out.

Polar came with us. She sat in the back.
She makes sooooo much damn noise!
It was still shitty weather and the snow coming at the window made me flinch.
We drove to Dunree fort. It was freeeeezing. My face was gonna fall off.
The fort was on the waters edge hence the cold.
It was an old army barracks but Laura couldn't really tell us more than that. She told us she learnt about it in school but it has been a while lol (she is 36)
We basically came because it's pretty. The fort itself wasn't even open so we walked around the area a bit.
Polar did 3 huge poos. Impressive.

We got some happy snaps then left.
Next we drove to Mamore gap. This was the best bot of the day but the windows were so foggy it was sometimes hard to see and Laura had a big Jesus/Mary charm thing dangling from her mirror it blocked half my view - it was huge.
(I had swapped to the back tonne with polar)

Mamore gap is basically just a road that goes between two mountains.
It was beautiful though. Ireland really is lovely.

Drive drive drive. Polar still yapping away.

Laura took us to Harry's pub which is where she works and bought us a hot toddy.
    It's hot whiskey.
Any other day I would have passed but you have too in Ireland.
God it was awful hahah I had to help Will finish his.
Polar was just walking around the pub as dogs do...
An area Australia could improve on 😂😂

Laura had resent me the bus tickets but the email never came through so she called the bus company.
"I'm sorry our electronic systems don't work on weekends - you will get the email on Monday"
    .............
    Erm what.
    How bloody ridiculous.
They were like pay the bus driver and you will get a refund.
YEAH EXCEPT WHEN YOU BUY FROM THE DRIVER THE PRICE GOES UP €10.
    Which won't be compensated.... STUPID.

    Anyways.

We then went back home, i packed and Laura's mum cooked a delicious home meal I nearly cried - THEY HAD GRAVY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
    Tried some Yorkshire pudding.

It was meats, veggies potatoes etc.
    sooo goooood.

Left and went to the bus stop.
Paid the driver 45€........ not impressed.... and got on.

Have Laura a bigggg hug. It was so good to see her. I find her so funny.

The bus should have taken 3 hour but took 5 😓

Our hostel was at least next to the bus station so that bit was easy.
Checked in then went to get dinner.

Shitty rooms and nowhere to charge your phone but everything else seems sound.

    What a loud hostel.
I would say 80% of people were up at 6am. Maybe there was a tour cause it was packed!
I was vomiting again (don't know why) at 5:45 and it was completely empty but at 6 it was go go go!

I liked the bed so I got some sleep.
We are under a train track which wasn't as loud as I thought - the people were louder.

We checked out and went to the bus station around the corner.
Waited 20 minutes - caught it not problem and arrived at the airport.

Check in was already open even though it was more than 3 hours before take off but because we got in early we asked for exit row seats and they were available wohooo!

Had some brekkie and went through security no problems.

Bought my magnet and as they also accept the pound I used some coins to buy a children's book and some fudge. Came in a cool tin.

WE ARE NOW ON THE PLANE AND I CANT BELIEVE THIS MOMENT HAS FINALLY COME.
Take off is in 30 mins.

I hope mum bought my lies hahaha can't remember when I wrote about another workaway but that's obviously not true - coming home early to surprise her :D
Dad knows because I had to ask for a key - they will be away another week because they are on their 30th wedding anniversary cruise. #cuties
    Soooooo excited to see them!!!
    And the cat of course..

Got through take off - a plane crashed yesterday in Russia so I was my usual scardey cat but all went fine.

The food was sensational! My mouth was in heaven.

I watched Winnie the Pooh and slept a little.

We are of course near a child who was pretty good but did have an hour whinge.

    Off the plane we got.
We have an 8 hour stop over.
Meant to be 7 but we arrived early. Our plane was empty. Not sure if I wrote that.

Doha airport is hectic. It's so stupidly modern and new age.
    I love the palm trees.

It has some great playgrounds and statues too.

The train is see through. Very sci fi.

We went to the food court and i bought a $9 salad.. gracious the exchange is horrid.
They have a harrods store and are selling a $24 pencil..... even for harrods that is really really bad lol.

We were in the food court for about 3 hours then went to our gate and hung out there.

We have just gone through our second security check which they are taking reallllly seriously.
They are taking the time to check everyone's photo and get second opinions if not sure.

A guy a few spots up the line had his checked with a microscope thing.

I got pulled over for a drug test AGAIN.

    Awaiting our plane.

Jess has ruined our master plan.
Jaxon has an appointment so she isn't going to work today/tomorrow where we were going to surprise her...

On the plane and feeling claustrophobic as all hell.
We didn't get an exit row this flight despite what the lady said.

We are in the middle and neither Will nor the person next to me for the chairs so I am squished.
There is nowhere to put my feet and I need to peeeeee

    2018年2月15日, オーストラリア ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

food wasn't as good this flight.

Blah blah blah. 14 long hours.
    I watched some mentalist episodes.

Once in Sydney I had a near panic attack in the customs bit. The machine couldn't verify my passport photo.........
had to go to a real person instead.
Basically long story short I left my passport on the floor and walked off then obviously couldn't find it.
I was in my snow jacket so the heat made it 1000 times worse and I was shaking and Will had already gone through so I couldn't let him know what was going on.
Figured out where to look for my passport and all was ok.

Got backs and had nothing to declare so a quick exit.

Caught the train home to epping.

Stupid Gerty was faking sick. I took her to the vet. She is fine...

    Drove Debbie home.

    Met Harvey.
Went to Jess' and surprised her and Jaxon ❤️ she was close to crying and my eyes got warm.
    He had hugs.
Jaxon is huge and talking 😍😍
Met Edgar. What a cutie - BIG puppy.

We went to helen and bills.

Jess came with and told them she bought them something and they had to Come outside to see.
We popped out from behind a corner.
    Helens responds
"What the fuck" she then cried which set of jess and half me.

    It was wonderful.
