      Dharamshala with Mama

      After our little China trip Mama accompanied me back to India. We spent a nice and very peaceful week in Dharamkot! A little hippie village next to McLeod Ganj, which is where the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community took refuge in 1959.

      We spent our days hiking, escaping the mountain rain, eating great Tibetan food and exploring the Tibetan communities and temples around McLeod Ganj. We visited the main temple where the Dalai Lama resides, the Tibetan Museum, which explained and showed the whole history of Tibet. The Norbulingka Institute was also very interesting! It’s an institute which aims to preserves the Tibetan culture. There are many studios where young Tibetans practice woodwork, traditional painting, sewing and tailoring.

      After a week well spent Mama left me alone again and Ill spend some more days in this lazy little village :)      Read more

      ...und weiter geht es nach Rishikesh

      nach 3,5 Wochen in der beschaulichen Bergidylle geht es zum Abend weiter nach Rishikesh...das erste Mal Nachtbus...mal schauen wie sich das ausgeht :)
      Ich habe heute nur noch mal den tollsten Kaffee und und Schokoladenkuchen des Dörfchens genossen, bin noch einmal auf eine kurze Meditation im Tushita gewesen und habe meine Sachen gepackt um dann 19.00 Uhr in Dharamsala den Nachtbus nach Rishikesh zu nehmen.
      Das gezeichnete Bild vom Tushita Tempel habe ich von einem indischen Architekten geschenkt bekommen. Das wird mal leinenbesonderen Platz bekommen, wenn ich wieder eine Wohnung habe :)      Read more

      Schon wieder schlafe ich nicht dort wo ich wollte. Bin 20 min von Dharamsala entfernt aber es ist richtig schön hier, nur Inder alles ganz ruhig und entspannt. Wenn dann auch noch die Wolken weg sind gibt's auch ein tolles Panorama. Leider war's erst nach Sonnenuntergang so weit aber morgen ist auch noch ein Tag.Read more

      Heute den ganzen Tag in Dharamsala verbracht. Zuerst ins Tibet Museum gegangen, sehr interessant aber auch bedrückend alles üder den Einmarsch der Chinesen die Aufstände die Selbstverbrennungen vieles mit Videos. Mir ist es nicht gut gegangen bei diesen Videos. Zum Schluss noch wie die Chinesen aktuell die Bodenschätze ausbeuten und große Umweltzerstörung betreiben. Zur Zeit ist absolut nichts los in Dharamsala zwei große Straßen mit tibetischen Geschäften sechzig Prozent des Ortes sind Hotels zZ nur ein paar indische Touristen.Read more

      Dalai Lama Teaching & Camping at Triund

      In the past week I went to an early Technik of the Dalai-Lama at this temple. He spoke for about 1 hour on basic Buddhist principles. It was really beautiful joining this teaching and sitting among all the monks. I had a little radio which translated everything he said from Tibetan to English.

      Another exciting activity was my hike to the snow line of the Triund trek. Spent one day climbing up to 3300 meters and sleeping up there! I got caught in a big hail storm while going up but luckily i had my guitar and book with me so i just hid out under some trees and waiting for the storm to pass :) On the top I slept in someone’s tea stall. He had a couple of yoga mats spread out where I could spend the night after he prepared me some dal, rice and Chapati! Slept at 9 o’clock, went down the next day at 7 and since then I’ve just been enjoying this little hilly place by laying in the sun, taking more sitar lessons and enjoying all the little cafes around here :)      Read more

      Dharamsala, Dalai Lama's home

      After feelkng a bit confused about what I wanted/needed, decided with my friend Oskars to go up tk Dharamsala to try to see the Dalai Lama and so I could visit the center Tushita that my brother had so highly recommended to me so many times. It was cold up there, and quiet because the season hadn't started, and absoutely beautiful. We did a course on learning how to meditate, which made me happy so I could connect with an important part of my brother's life, and also enjoy some quiet and space. Niklas was also there and we ha a lot of momos and soup. My time there was quiet, I needed space for my mind and to work a bit kn what was next and how it was going to be, so I spent most of the time in cafes having some nice warm chai. Here's when I officially decided to come back to tasmania for a little bit, to save some money and plan my next life steps. Met some nice interesting people and said goodbye to Oskars, who decided to stay to do a longer course in tushita and tried to get closer to the Dalai Lama.

      🏠Accomodation: Bhagsu Namaste (very cheap, nice location and quiet)
      🍴Food: Thibetan's kitchen (Oskars was totally obsessed with the place, close to Dalai Lama temple), The Olive's (really nice soup, also beautiful views, really close to Tushita), lha Cafe Ahimsa House (lovrey owner, beautiful, cozy and great food, also really close to Dalai Lama place), Dakini house (stunning views), also food in tushita is absolutely amazing

      Dalai Lama Temple

      Here is where the Dalai Lama calls home since leaving Tibet after the Chinese takeover. Unfortunately, His Holiness was not around at the time I was there.
      The first two are in the main temple. Then some of the prayer wheels. 4th looks on the door where picture taking is not allowed inside. The yellow you can see in the center is the Dalai Lama's throne/ teaching seat. The last picture is of some of the young monks debating Buddhist teachings, history, writings, etc.Read more

      מקלוד גאנג' - המקדש הטיבטי המרכזי והרכבל

      התחלנו את היום בנסיעה מבאגסו למקלוד גאנג' (Mcleod Ganj).
      ההנסיעה ערכה כ-15 דק' שמתוכם עמדנו כ-5 דקות בגלל כביש חסום.
      להבדיל מבאגסו, אין הרבה ישראלים במקלוד גאנג'.
      דרך אגב, מקלוד גאנג' מהווה את מקום מושבו של הדלאי לאמה.
      הנהג הוריד אותנו ליד המקדש הטיבטי המרכזי ונכנסו לשם אחרי שקנינו מסכות לפנים (no mask no entry).

      במקדש יש הרצאות (לא הבנתי מה הם אומרים, אבל זה נשמע כמו שיעור תורה) והנזירים ואנשים רגילים יושבים על מזרונים דקים ומקשיבים למרצה, חלקם אף רושמים הערות.
      במקדש ניתן למצוא גלגלי תפילה.
      אלו גלילים שכתובים עליהם תפילות והמאמין מסובב את הגליל והתפילה שלו נישאת ברוח.
      מקום נחמד, לא מרשים במיוחד.

      כ-5 דק' הליכה מהמקדש, יש את הרכבל שמחבר בין מקלוד גאנג' ודהרמסלה.
      עלות נסיעה הלוך ושוב - 650 רופי לאדם.
      ירדנו עם הרכבל עד דהרמסלה וכשיצאנו ממתחם הרכבל, שאלנו איפה השוק? ענו שהשוק סגור בימי שני...
      ישר עשינו אחורה פנה ועלינו שוב עם הרכבל בחזרה למקלוד גאנג'.
      הנסיעה ברכבל נחמדה ושקטה. רואים בדרך את הנוף ההררי הירוק ואת הבתים שפזורים במעלה ההר.
      הנסיעה ברכבל מומלצת (גם אם אין מה לעשות בדהרמסלה).

      ממקלוד גאנג' תפסנו מונית עד לדהרמקוט.
      דהרמקוט נמצאת גבוה יותר מבאגסו וכמו בבאגסו, גם כאן הנוכחות הישראלית מורגשת (אפילו שולטת יותר).
      אכלנו ארוחת צהריים במסעדת שמיים (כן, זה השם שלה).
      שירלי הזמינה מנת פלאפל (צלחת עם כדורי פלאפל, מעט חומוס, סלט ירקות, צ'יפס ופיתה בצד) ואני הזמנתי מלאי כופתה (Malai Kofta).
      הפלאפל לא היה משהו, אבל המלאי כופתה היה טעים.
      הזמנו גם לימונענע גרוס.
      בקיצור ארוחת צהריים ישראלית.

      החזרה מדהרמסאלה לבאגסו היתה בשבילים לא שבילים, חצינו חצרות של בתים והרגשה של טיול שנתי למצדה.
      גילוי נאות - מדובר על קילומטר אחד של הליכה...

      חזרנו למלון ומתחילים להתארגן לקראת יום כיפור.
