      Eingecheckt im Hotel Mercure

      Unser Hotel hatten wir vor allem strategisch gewählt. Einerseits wollten wir heute etwas mehr als Hälfte der gesamten Strecke fahren, andererseits haben wir auf dem Weg alle Großstädte schon gesehen und uns daher für den Besuch in Rovereto entschieden. Das Hotel Mercure liegt direkt zwischen der Autobahn und Gleisen. Normalerweise keine traumhafte Lage, fürs schlafen nach und vor einer weiteren Fahrt und direkt an der Autobahn zum weiterfahren aber dann einfach sinnvoll. Das hotel ist sehr modern, schon fast zu modern. Zumindest optisch, vor allem in den Gängen. Das Zimmer ist schön, die Einrichtung und Ausstattung passt sehr gut. Der Blick aus dem Fenster hat uns Gleise und Industriegebiet (naja) aber auch unzählige Berge (ein Traum) geboten. In Kombination dann ein schöner Ausblick, da vor allem die Berge bei starken Wolken toll aussehen. Auf den Gleisen sind im Laufe des Abends immer wieder Züge gefahren. Hörbar schon, zum Gluck nicht zu laut und Vibrationen nicht spürbar. Hat also gepasst. Nach dem bereits sehr langen Tag hieß es dann zeitnah schlafen. Mit 13.015 Schritten (9,47 Kilometer) waren wir ordentlich unterwegs, anstrengender war aber sicher das aufstehen um 6:30 Uhr und anschließende arbeiten und lange fahren. Trotzdem sind wir sehr froh, dass wir heute schon los sind. So heist es morgen nicht so weit fahren und daher genug Zeit für die Tour durch Modena. Wir freuen uns!       Vollwertiger Start in den Tag!

      In der Früh hieß es frühzeitig Aufstehen, da wir neben einer längeren Fahrt auch noch das sightseeing von Modena vor uns hatten. Trotz Gleisen neben dem Hotel haben wir den Großteil der Nacht komplett problemlos durchgeschlafen. Nach dem fertigmachen ging’s zum Frühstück, wo wir uns gut satt gegessen haben! Das Rührei war sehr gut, die klassische Gemüsemischung aus Karotte, Brokkoli und Blumenkohl etwas ungewöhnlich zum Frühstück aber besser als kein Gemüse. Danach noch sehr gute Pfannkuchen. Gut gestärkt ging’s dann zum auschecken und mit dem Auto los auf die ca. 1,5 Stunden Fahrt Richtung Süden nach Modena.Read more

      Nachts sind alle Tanken grau

      .... und so erwartet uns auch die Ladestation in Rovereto im dunklen Gewand der Nacht. Gut, dass die Ladezeit bei 45 Minuten lag und wir die Gegend erkunden mussten.
      So fand sich, nach kurzem Fußweg das handelsübliche McDonald's, ein Lost Place und wie es sich für Italien gehört eine Pizzeria. Etwas weiter entfernt wird es sicher noch mehr (Einkaufsmöglichkeiten) geben, aber wir haben uns mit den folgenden Highlights zufrieden gegeben.

      Nahe der Ladestation findet jeder Durchreisende die wichtigsten Dinge. Ein Casino, Versicherungen (?), Designerbetten und Treppen. Gewendelt oder gerade, Treppen für jede Lebenssituation. schön, hilfreich

      Natürlich sorgen auch hier die Berge ringsherum für ein tolles Bild. Ergänzt wird das Ganze von den beiden Flüssen, die sich mitten im Tal treffen. Sieht sicher toll aus, wenn es hell ist. 5 Punkte bei der Spaziergangswertung.

      Hier gibt es einiges zu entdecken, Futter und was fürs Auge. 6 von 8 Punkten insgesamt.

      Day 285

      A day getting better by the hour

      Today started with heavy rain and no chance of climbing on wet, slippery rock walls :(
      So the day started slowly with work and some ping pong. By midday the rain finally stopped and we got to hike up to a castle through a small trail along olive orchards.

      The weather got even better and so we jumped in the car and drove to Mori, which has a fantastic climb up a steep wall outside of town. We had the best time, I was on a high from climbing and really enjoyed the scenery.

      The third part of the day turned into a small barbeque party with other climbers and base jumpers we met on the trail and in our campsite. I had a great time prepping food for everyone and realized how much I miss cooking. Good timing since soon I'll have my own kitchen again :)      Read more

      Day 1 living the city

      Walking around! First impressions
      - Igreja de São Domingos, not as ostentatious as the conventional Church, but full of charm!
      - Praça Dom Pedro, love the road paving.
      - Sardines world, nice to see, but very touristic shop;
      - Convento do Carmo, destroyed after the earthquake of the 1755 the church’s roof is the sky! After visiting it and the small museum inside stop for a drink at Quiosque do Carmo, and relax yourself!
      - Rua Nova do Carvalho. The pink street of Lisbon, we didn’t stop there, but if you love canned sardines stop at Pesca e Sol for an alternative dinner!
      - a romantic walk across the Tago during the sunset! The best for prepare your stomach for a Portuguese dinner
      - dinner at Faca & Garfo, it was warmly recommended by Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor. Honestly the dinner was good, but nothing special, the restaurant inside is small and typical. They offer some food as starter, we decided to taste everything but without seeing prices.
      At the end the price was quite expensive for what we have eaten.
      I would say it’s a touristic place, but I don’t know if i will suggest it
      - Elevador de Santa Just by night! Super recommended! If you buy the Lisboa Card the entrance it’s free, you will also have free metro and bus and some discounts for other attractions. We made the 72 hours card, we paid 42 euros per each but it worth!

      Day 2 Belém Area

      Lunch at Cafe do Forte, delicious club sandwich and lovely view of the Belèm Tower!
      After recovering the energy we started our walk!
      First of all we took some pictures of the Belèm Tower. We were intent to visit also the inside, but the queue was huge, the sun was extremely hot, su we headed to Padrão dos Descobrimentos, then we reached the Monastero dos Jerónimos, but always because the heat and the long queue (there were many touristic bus) we didn’t visit it inside.
      Because it was time for a Snack we went to the Historical “Pastéis de Belèm ”.
      There are 2 lines, one for take away and one for sitting. At least here we were lucky, non people waiting to be seated. We ordered two pastéis each and a coffe! They were good, but not the best! I will reveal you later which were the best 😋
      We decided to continue our walk till the Maat museum, and his viewpoint!
      Before dinner time wanted to have a look of Lisbon from the top of the Miradouro da Graça, with all the lights on the city it’s romantic and unmissable!      Read more
