After all the walking we of course had to rest and eat and drink again. With the great views in the background.
Dad didn't go to Gibraltar today as he planned. We decided to come here instead. Good choice.
All is forgiven. He bought me a nice blue bracelet cause he liked the colour and he said it would suit me. He said he still loves me as he knew I felt bad about him missing out on seeing that Rock!Leggi altro

Today is our last day in Malaga so we thought we should at least have a look around here. This has been a great base to take tiki tours from. Malaga is OK. We hopped on the ^hop on hop off^ bus to look around. Went to see La Alcazaba ( The Muslim citadel) and the Gibralfaro castle situated high in the hills.Leggi altro

Next on our stop was to see the Picasso museum which was closed today unfortunately (Sunday ) or fortunately in my case as I am not a Picasso fan. Went to see where he lived and see some of his works. Not my cup of tea but Graham likes his works so he bought a book. More weight in our luggage. Not allowed to take photos so nothing much to show here. Also lots of nice parks in the city centre.Leggi altro

25th August 2017.

This is one of those days when I should have stayed in bed.
Graham and I decided to take a bus from Malaga to see the rock of Gibraltar. Arrived there after 2.5 hours.
To go over to Gibraltar you need your passport as it is British territory.
Guess who forgot to take the passports.? ?? Guess who was not a happy Chappy??
So Graham has booked a bus to go tomorrow. Guess who is not going with him??
I took photos of the rock so I don't need to see it again. Might go to the beach instead or do some shopping therapy.Leggi altro

After our sightseeing it was so hot we had to stop to quench our thirst of Course! The boys tried the local beers and the girls tried the local drink done with wine and fruit. (Sangrina) Yummy. Could be another bad habit. Then back on the train back to Malaga. The boys got sucked into buying heaps of nuts and dried fruit to munch on the trip home. Graham spent 35.00 and John spent 25.00. 22nd August 2017.
Arrived in Malaga this morning. Great.....nice and hot. Went for a walk to get our bearings. Lovely beach. Going to spend the day there tomorrow and get cooked. Bugger the sight seeing.
Went and had a wine down the road then found a restaurant and dad and I shared a paella...black from squid ink.
Absolutely yummy. And two bottles of the local vino.....cheap and delicious.Leggi altro

Our last day in Amsterdam. Forgot to take my iPad with me so got no photos to post here.
Enjoyed Amsterdam. Great city with very friendly people. Hope one of my lovely daughters will help me download dad's video into a folder then I maybe able to add some photos to my book.?.?

"If you don't have to tell something nice, better tell nothing at all" - for me this saying fits perfect to Malaga ;-) This place is a big City with a lot of waste at the beach and no flair. Even the ocean is not very enjoyable. Beside a nice and long bikeride along the beaches it has nothing to offer for me.
The hostel is sooo bad - the worst thing I have seen so far - so bad, that it is almost funny (in this special sense of gallows humor 😉). It starts with disgusting bathrooms (I will save you from the details), "Godzilla" my bankbonker who mess up the whole room with her cloth, clean and dirty, with dirty cups and glasses, empty bottles of wine - everything mixed together and well spread over the 8-bed-dorm. And at night she is making sounds as if she was fighting against whole Tokyo^^ And on top come a lot of weirdos - good package tho 😂

But anyways - after 49 days in Spain I will finish the first chapter ofmy travels. It does not feel like 7 weeks away at all, but on the other side I feel like years away from certain things I have left behind, which is veeeeeery good 😊
I've learned a LOT during the last weeks, I retrieved some things which I was afraid of being lost, I met wonderful and inspiring people and I did some aweeeeeesome experiences.
Being so, so happy that I took this step in my life I close this chapter now, fly home to Germany for almost two weeks and prepare myself for the next travels 😊🌺Leggi altro
