Matkaaja I loved York, it's very pretty!
Matkaaja So did we. We thought about you liking it as we walked around
Matkaaja That’s a grey one. Introduced species from North America. It is both invasive and lethal to the native red squirrel population sadly. They carry a squirrel pox which is almost 100% deadly to the native reds. Various squirrel groups are actively trying to exterminate the greys. If you look in butcher shop windows you will even see them available for sale with a warning about watching out for shot pellets…I kid you not!
Matkaaja You see a lot of them.
Matkaaja Great photos. I’m really enjoying your trip. You have been a lot of places I have not. I look forward to seeing them each day.
