Tag 3 in Miami Beach

In den Tag gestartet sind wir sie die letzen Tage auch mit einem Frühstück am Strand wo die Sonne trotz dem Wetterbericht rausgekommen ist ☀️
Am Mittag sind wir nach Little Havanna gefahren wo es typische Kubanische Häuser, Bars etc. gibt. Auch ein Besuch in einer Cigar-Fabrik durfte nicht fehlen.
Anschließend sind wir nach Wynwood wo ganz viele Häuserfassaden toll bemalt sind.
Nachmittags waren wir nochmal am Bayside Marktet und haben ein paar Sachen gekauft.
Abends sind wir dann zurück zum AirBnB und haben uns erholt.
Morgen sind wir uns unsicher weil für den ganzen Tag Regen angesagt ist… Mal schauen. Ab übermorgen ist nur noch Sonne angesagt😍

🇬🇧 We started our day like the last ones… Starbucks at the Beach. We stayed a bit longer at the beach because the sun came out ☀️ After that we went to Little Havanna and visited the local shops & cigar factories. We then drove to Wynwood Art District where most of the buildings are painted with stunning motives.
In the afternoon we were again at the Bayside Market did a bit of shopping and had a late lunch.
All in all a great day 😍☀️
We are unsure what we will do tomorrow because the forecast shows rain for the whole day. At least it’s the only day and the rest of our holiday will be sunny & warm.Read more

Gefühls-Chaos, Goodbye 🇺🇸
January 15 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C
Ich habe zusammen mit Jessi am 10. November 2023 (40. Tag meiner Reise) im Norden der Westküste die Grenze in die USA überquert. Heute, am 106. Tag, verlasse ich die USA im Süden der Ostküste🧭. Während den 66 Tagen durfte ich so unbeschreiblich viel Schönes erleben. Ein kleiner Rückblick mit ein paar Highlights:

- In Seattle durften Jessi und ich bei ihrer ehemaligen Gastfamilie wohnen. Das Thanksgiving🦃 und das NFL-Game🏈 bleiben unvergesslich!
- Der Yosemite-Park 🏞️ hat alle meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Alleine mit einem Mietauto fuhr ich bis nach LA.
- Am Venice-Beach in LA hatte ich fast 30° und erstmals absolutes Strandfeeling🏖️
- Mit tollen Leuten erlebte ich super Tage in Hollywood🎤
- Las Vegas fühlte sich völlig surreal an. Was für eine Stadt!🎰
- Zion, Bryce, Antelope, Horseshoe-Bend. Grand Canyon. Die Natur hat soo viel zu bieten und hat mich keineswegs enttäuscht🏜️
- In San Diego reiste ich zusammen mit meinem französischen Buddy Ilan umher. Der Ausflug zu La Jolla 🌊 bleibt in sehr guter Erinnerung.
- Ein Ausflug nach Tijuana🇲🇽 war eine sehr coole Erfahrung.
- Dann war es soweit: New Year in New York mit Aline♥️🎇 muss man nicht viel hinzufügen: es war traumhaft!
- Städtetrips nach Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Charleston und Savannah an der Ostküste. Das Amerika auf diesee Seite ist so anders und trotzdem so gleich😅
- In Miami genossen Aline und ich unsere gemeinsame Zeit♥️

Den Tag heute verbrachten wir in 2 Museen: Das Superblue und das Paradox Museum. Danach ging es zum zum Miami International Airport. Der Abschied heute am Flughafen war schon sehr schwer… Schon wieder so lange getrennt zu sein ist schon echt scheisse. Wir wussten beide auf was wir uns einlassen, dass macht es aber nicht leichter 😟.

Nichtsdestotrotz geht für mich in eine paar Minuten bereits das nächste grosse Abenteuer los: Zusammen mit Pädi bereise ich Südamerika. Gestartet wird in Buenos Aires, Argentinien🇦🇷 , wo ich in ca. 10 Stunden landen werde😌

Domino Park - Little Havana

Domino Park," Maximo Gomez Park is a Little Havana landmark, and meeting spot for older Cubans, at any time of day you will find residents sipping coffee, playing Dominoes and chatting with their friends. Named after Generalissimo Máximo Gómez commander in the Cuban War of Independence, this park was built in 1976 in an area that was predominantly Cuban and which has since seen an influx of Central American exiles. In pre-park days, local men set up makeshift tables for chess, but beginning in 1983, periodic improvements added a pavilion with fiberglass awning, a bathroom building, and information booth to the two original terracotta-roofed pavilions covering all-weather gaming tables and chairs.

We were told by our tour guide that you had to be a Cuban male over the age of 55 to be able to play dominoes in the park and that much of the conversations originally revolved around their hatred for Castro. She said that each of these men would have a story to tell about life under Castro. Our tour guides grandfather,before Castro, owned a distillery. When Castro came to power, they showed up at her grandfathers house forcing them to turn over the distillery at gun point. He was imprisoned at some point during Castro’s rule, but escaped to the United States.Read more
