    Diamond head

    July 5, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Today I got woken up at 6.30am because we were going to climb The Diamond Head (Le'ahi) State Monument in Honolulu. Diamond head is called Diamond head because a long time a go someone mistook the rock on the volcano for a diamond. The trail to the summit of Le'ahi was built in 1908 as part of the US Army Coastal Artillery defense system. I could see where the army men would hide and was a beautiful view from the top. It was 1.3km to go up and my legs where a little tired. When we reached the top we could see that it was a volcano because of the crater. We saw the old battle equipment, it was quite rusty. Then after we finished walking up and down, we were feeling hungry and went to this restaurant which Miho recommended. It was called Eggs 'n things and it was a pancake restaurant. It was deeeeeeeeeeeeelicious!!
When we went home it was scorching hot, so we were going to go swimming, we went swimming and me and Conor got covered in sand!!!! Now Conor is going to get a fidget spinner so BYE!!

    July 4, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

Yesterday I slept for 15 hours because I was jetlagged. We went to Shore bird for breakfast and I had orange juice, bacon and more food. For lunch, we went to a food court (it was the first time I went to a food court in America) and I had food from Panda 🐼 express. Then me, Conor and Mammy went shopping. First we went to Quicksilver, I got a rashy that says 'Hawaii' written on it and has 3 surfboards, its very nice. Then I got a hair braid which is really pretty. Later, we went to see the fireworks because its the 4th of July.Read more

    Waikiki, Hanama Beach

    June 15, 1992 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Another day which didn't exactly go our way, but eventually worked out alright. Everyone knows the saying "there's no such thing as a free lunch". Well, the same goes for breakfast, as we found out this morning. We were "invited" to a free tour of the city and breakfast. What it actually turned out to be was breakfast and a one hour power sell of Aloha/VIP tours around Hawaii.

We decided to give the tours a miss - not prepared to fork out too much at this stage, and besides that we already had a hire car. By the time we got back to the motel, having been sidetracked by the Honolulu Marketplace where we bought 4 t shirts for $14 and also stopped for Baskin-Robbins ice cream, it was nearly midday. We changed & set off for a beach on the north of the island.

Taking the Pali Highway, we stopped at a couple of spots for sight-seeing. Pete discovered he had lost his spray so - back to Honolulu, where he discovered it had been in his bag all the time! We made our way back to the Pali Highway and then up the northeast coast. Went through lost of lush green vegetation, eventually passing the Chinaman's Hat. We stopped and had a swim and sunbake at Kahana Bay. The water almost felt lukewarm - warmer than the air. We had to leave earlier than planned to return our borrowed beach towels by 6:00. We were worried about the $20 fine per towel for late returns!!

Now it's off for dinner at the Spaghetti Shop.

    Waikiki: Roy's

    December 16, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

After a fun long day of kayaking and snorkeling we ventured out at for a nice dinner. After running a few blocks in heels to make our reservation I was ready to eat some delicious food. I ordered a lovely salad and a Hawaiian sweet potato bisque which was the prettiest and most delicious soup I have ever had. William went for the raw fish by ordering some tasty ahi poke and delicious sushi. In order to prevent some pain William ran back to the hotel to get me better shoes while I waited in a park. After a few minutes of strong wind it started to pour and I had to seek cover while I waited for my shoes to arrive. Luckily there was a pause in the storm and we made it back to the hotel even with a quick stop for some ice cream.Read more

    Adjustment Day

    March 24, 2017 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 26 °C

This morning we had to move out of our nice one bedroom, 2 bathroom condo and into a studio unit with 1 tiny bathroom but in the same building. Ugh! There is a double murphy bed that folds down from the wall so I'm sleeping on the sofa instead of fighting for space on the small bed. No stove (microwave only), dishwasher (John will have to replace the automatic dishwasher), or fridge (bar fridge only). We've been spoiled by our other spacious accommodations. Should be an interesting week. On a positive note, the view from the 9th floor is much better than the 5th and we're still in Hawaii!Read more

    Aloha in Hawaii !
Today we reached Honolulu, Hawaii. The time difference is 18 hours to Singapore. I slept on the plane because it was like 2 am in the morning!! I was SO jet lagged! We were not allowed to check in until about 3.00 so we went shopping. The first shop was ABC mart, I got a sour patch kids gum and a hello kitty Hawaii socks because I like getting country socks. (I got 3 pairs in Japan). Then Daddy and Conor went to the coin laundry and me and Mammy went shopping. I got a pretty Hawaiian dress and a Hawaii sandal. Then we headed to he hotel. I watched Thundermans 'Thunder in paradise' where Phoebe turns evil and she tries to destroy the world. Then I had pizza for lunch. Today was a very Jetlaggy, tiring day.Read more

    Long day today

    July 5, 2017 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

This morning, mammy woke up at 5:40am, daddy woke up at 6:00am and me and Maya woke up at 6:30.cc. We woke up early because we were going mountain hiking at a mountain called Diamond head (Le’ahi). I was really sleepy and jetlagged because I slept at 12:40pm last night! Me and Maya ate breakfast in the car because we had no time to eat in the restaurant. The car parked at this place called Diamond head park or something. We got out of the car and started hiking. There were some stops in the way, so we stopped and drank water. I was tired when we arrived at the top. We saw the view of Waikiki and we could see our hotel. We had to go down so we just went back.

We went back down and rode the car. We were going back to the hotel! is what I thought…… We were heading to a shopping center! We ate really good pancakes at a place called eggs’n things. They were huge! We went home after the pancakes. We went to the beach and played around. The waves were really strong! After the beach, mammy and daddy got me a fidget spinner!
