      Sakura Asian Fusion - Fritierter Tofu

      Schon gestern hatten wir’s entdeckt, dass ein kleines asiatisches Restaurant gegenüber von unserem Hotel ein paar vegetarische Gerichte im Angebot hat. Also ging’s heute direkt hin und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Restaurant bietet eine Fusion vieler asiatischer Küchen an. Japanisch, Chinesisch, Thailändisch und Koreanisch. Wir haben uns beide für frittierten Tofu in Knoblauchsoße mit Reis entschieden. War wirklich sehr gut und auch eine gute Portion! Ein bisschen Gemüse zum Tofu hätte nicht geschadet, war aber auch so gut. Zum Glück sind wir dann bei der Rechnung nicht gestolpert. Hier wurde automatisch ein Trinkgeld bei der Rechnung dazu gerechnet, das man freiwillig noch erhöhen kann. Übersieht man das, werden es schnell 40% Trinkgeld statt eh schon hohen 20%. Gut gesättigt sind wir dann noch kurz zu Wall-Mart, einen Sweet Tea für Nadine und was kleines Süßes für mich kaufen. Glücklich, satt und zufrieden sind wir dann zurück ins Hotel. Da hieß es erst mal alles was wir die letzten Tage ins Auto gelegt hatten mit ins Hotel nehmen. Nachdem wir morgen wohl länger unterwegs sind und es am Sonntag wieder weiter zum letzten Ziel Miami geht, wo wir unser Auto abgeben, mussten wir das Auto leeren und die Koffer noch mehr füllen. Nach dem Koffer einräumen hieß es endlich entspannen und Kraft tanken für unseren letzten Freizeitpark Tag. Morgen geht es wieder in Disney Parks, konkret erst in Animal Kingdom, dann ins Epcot. Wir freuen uns riesig! Mit 12,42 Kilometer (17.007 Schritte) waren wir heute wieder stark unterwegs. Noch deutlich anstrengender war aber das viele stehen, locker 3 Stunden der 8 Stunden im Magic Kingdom. Daher auch die schweren Beine und Augen. Wir freuen uns trotzdem riesig auf morgen!       Disney Animal Kingdom

      Tuesday was our Animal Kingdom day. We kicked off with a fastpass for Filight of Passage, a fantastic ride that always attracts big crowds and long lines. We followed that up with snacks (we are waaaay behind the curve on using our pre-paid snack credits on our dining plan) and a bit of shopping before our second FP at Expedition Everest.

      The crowds and queues were still huge, to the point that it was difficult to even move about through the throngs, we think as a result of the Run Disney event that had happened at the weekend. To avoid endless lines we decided to concentrat mostly on non-ride activites, other than those we had fastpasses for.

      We headed to Dinoland USA where a special character event was on. We met the richest duck in the World - Scrouge McDuck himself, along with his trusty chaufer/pilot Launchpad McQuack. We also managed to grab a picture with some 'dinosaurs' who looked suspiciously familar. We capped off our time in Dinoland with our fastpass for the Dinosaur ride.      Okumaya devam et

      Disney Animal Kingdom, Discovery Island

      We took a late lunch by a pond with beautiful local birds looking on; being after the lunch rush, the resteraunt seating area seemed like an oasis of calm after the crowds on the main thoroughfares. Guests are asked not to feed the birds, so we must attribute the fact that more and more birds came to sit by Alex during our meal to her distinctive plumage (which did match a few of the more colourful feathers around).

      We caught Finding Nemo, the Musical at one of the park's theaters; Dan preferrs its predecessor 'Tarzan Rocks' but Alex is a big fan of the show. We finished our time at Animal Kingdom with a 'night blossom' slushy drink from the Pongu Pongu kiosque in Pandora.      Okumaya devam et

      Sehr früh nach Animal Kingdom

      Sehr früh hieß es aufstehen und los nach Animal Kingdom. Um 06:00 Uhr sind wir aufgestanden, für mich ging’s dann um 6:45 Uhr noch kurz zum Hotel Frühstück, für Nadine so früh nicht. Um 7 Uhr sind wir dann mit dem Auto los zum Animal Kingdom, wo wir wieder für 25$ parken durften. Bei schönem Sonnenaufgang sind wir am noch fast leeren Parkplatz angekommen und wir sind direkt in den Park rein. Disney’s Animal Kingdom ist nach Magic Kingdom, Epcot und Disney’s Hollywood Studios der vierte Themenpark des Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Animal Kingdom wurde 1998 eröffnet und ist mit einer Fläche von zwei Quadratkilometern der größte Disney-Themenpark der Welt sowie der erste, der sich, gemäß der Philosophie Walt Disneys, ganz der Erhaltung der Tierwelt widmet. Mit etwa 13,9 Millionen Besuchern lag der Park 2019 auf Platz 3 der meistbesuchten Vergnügungsparks der Vereinigten Staaten und auf Platz 6 weltweit. Das Symbol des Parks – auch wiederzufinden im Logo des Parks – ist der Tree of Life, ein 44 m hoher und 15 m breiter künstlicher Baum.       Angekommen in Pandora

      Unser erstes Ziel war Pandora, das Gebiet das wegen dem Film Avatar gemacht wurde und diesem nachempfunden ist. Hier und auch generell im ganzen Park fühlt man sich immer wie in einem Urwald, sehr viele Bäume um einen rum. Was sehr toll ist! Zwischen den normalen Bäumen sind teils echte, teils künstliche Pflanzen die zum Film Avatar passen. Vor allem sehr imposant sind die fliegenden Felsen und Berge die man aus dem Film kennt. Die Hauptattraktion des Themenbereiches ist Avatar Flight of Passage, ein dreidimensionales Flying Theater. Die zweite Attraktion, Na'vi River Journey, führt die Besucher durch Pandoras biolumineszente Regenwälder. Den Bereich gibt es erst seit 2017.       Dinosaurier Tour und Mittagessen

      Von der Gegenwart in Asien ging’s in die Vergangenheit im Dinoland. Hier sind wir wieder eine Bahn gefahren, die DINOSAUR. Dabei handelt es sich um eine 4D Fahrt mit Fahrt & Bewegungen des Autos während echte & animierte Effekte das Erlebnis verstärken. Hat uns auch richtig gefallen, auch wenn das Anstehen hier mal etwas länger war. Mit 5 von 6 Fahrten auf dem Plan erledigt, hat der Magen geknurrt und das Ziel war klar, ab auf die im Zentrum liegende Discovery Island, wo der ‘‘Tree of Life‘‘ steht. Hier haben wir uns jeweils eine Pizza mit Ceaser Salad gegönnt. Preislich tatsächlich auch in Ordnung, geschmacklich wirklich gut!Okumaya devam et

      Heatwave

      Today we checked out of the Starcruiser. It was 28 degrees so there was only one logical option: Blizzard Beach! We were given the VIP treatment coming off the Starcruiser so were allowed to check in at 10am. This gave us time to explore the new cable car system attached to Disney's Riviera before ditching our luggage. A lazy day on the waterslides and mini-golfing was a great end to a short, but super-satisfying WDW trip.Okumaya devam et

      Animal Kingdom

      Dag twee stond Animal Kingdom op de planning. Ons hotel ligt in de Animal Kingdom Area wat betekend dat we super snel bij het park zouden zijn. We besloten te ontbijten bij het hotel. We hadden Mickey waffels!! Daarna snel met de bus mee naar het park.
      Animal Kingdom is een unieke dierentuin met pretpark elementen. Je gaat op avontuur door verschillende wereld delen en ziet daar dieren en attracties. We begonnen met Avatar land, the World of Pandora. Dit is een deel van het park waar ze de planeet Pandora hebben nagebouwd tot in detail. We hebben hier Navi’i river journey gedaan, wat een hele mooie dark ride is. Zeker het gebied zelf is ontzettend mooi!
      We besloten ook om een deel van een soort speurtocht naar stickers en opdrachten te doen à la jonge woudlopers.
      Vervolgens liepen we over Discovery Island, langs de Tree of Life naar Azië. Hier hadden we fast passes voor Expedition Everest, een ontzettend coole achtbaan door Mount Everest. Hij was zo tof dat we gelijk daarna nogmaals gingen.
      Het volgende was een wandeltocht langs verschillende beesten, waaronder tijgers. Dit was ontzettend mooi opgezet, maar wel gewoon dierentuin achtig.
      Aan dit pad lag ook een meet & greet met Mickey and Minnie. Het gebeurd niet vaak dat je met beide op de foto kan, dus we gingen ervoor!
      Vanaf daar liepen we naar the Tree of Life, waar de show It’s tough to be a bug draait. Ontzettend grappige 4-D show, met minder gezellige spinnen die uit het plafond komen. Bah.
      Daarna zijn we richting het Dinosaur deel gegaan, waar we hebben gegeten en een Nederlandse Cast-member tegen kwamen. Ook hebben we hier verschillende Disney vrienden ontmoet: Oom Dagobert, Launchpad (Turbo) en natuurlijk Donald zelf!
      We hadden daarna fastpasses voor Dinosaur, een tijdreis ride waarmee we naar de prehistorie gingen. We werden meerdere keren vanuit het donker aangevallen door Dino’s, wat ik een minder groot succes vond.
      Na Dinosaur kwamen we Pluto tegen, dus natuurlijk gingen we ook met hem op de foto.
      Vervolgens gingen we naar een soort ouderwetse carnaval waar wat dino attracties waren en gingen we in een achtbaan de draaide en plots keerde.
      Het beste was Avatar Flight of Passage. Dit was wel zo’n prachtige en briljante attractie! Je wordt echt in de wereld van Avatar gezogen en je gaat naar Pandora op een Banshee! Het voelde zo echt en de effecten waren zo goed! Ik snap dat de rijen ontzettend lang zijn voor deze ride. Het is iets wat je moet beleven om te begrijpen.
      Daarna besloten we te gaan eten en liep de computer waarop wij onze bestelling hadden gedaan vast! De cast members ware super aardig en voor het ongemak kregen we ons eten gratis. En toen we daar ook nog lang op moesten wachten kregen we extra frietjes gratis! Wat een service.
      Tijdens het eten begon het helaas te hozen en het is niet meer gestopt. Hopelijk is het morgen droog!      Okumaya devam et

      Toy Story Land

      First we saw woody & Jessie so lined up to get a photo with them!!!
      Sarah had a Jessie sticker on her shirt so poor Woody got a bit upset! But I told him I liked him so he was happy 😂
      Lining up for Slinky Dog, sign said it would be an 80minute wait but who knows if we’d be back again so.....
      60 minute wait. It was fun but I don’t know that it was worth the wait - I definitely wouldn’t have wanted to wait any longer!! Pretty slow
      We were gonna check out the Walt Disney stuff but it had closed, now 7pm. We were wiped, no patience to wait 95 minutes for tower of terror and we had both done it in the past so we headed to the buses to make our way to Disney Springs for dinner.
      After another long, hot day, a chocolate fudge brownie sundae finished off the day nicely      Okumaya devam et

      The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

      Today’s the day!!!! I was just a little bit excited walking to the front gates of universal. We had one hour early entry because we were staying at a universal resort which was awesome!!!!
      Straight to Diagon Alley we went!! It was magical!! I felt just like I was in the movie itself. It wasn’t too busy so we were able to get good photos without many people around.
      First stop Ollivanders to get myself the interactive wand and I chose Hermione’s. Then we headed off to Gringotts Escape before the lines got too long and that was fun! This is a similar ride to the castle one Mum, you would have enjoyed. The best part was we wore 3D glasses that looked like Quidditch goggles 🤗
      Then it was time to be a witch and cast some spells around Diagon Alley. It was so much fun and then I really felt like Hermione!!! I struggled to use it to begin with😂 but a fellow little witch (like 7 yrs old) helped me out and I was set for the day. It was so exciting and fun when it worked. Thanks Sheree for the heads up to do this first because once it got crowded it would have bee a pain to do & wait & not as much fun!
      We did some window shopping as we walked around. We would be back to spend our gallons. We couldn’t not get some butter beer ice cream though when we went past the ice cream shop - delicious!!

      Next it was time to board the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade. They had train conductors and everything, dressed the part. It was so much better than I thought it could be. The inside of the carriages was just like the mouse and the windows played videos so it was like you were travelling through the wizarding world.
      Time for some butter beer, but they didn’t have the frozen one at the cart so I was a bit disappointed. It wasn’t as nice as the slushy version. Some more spells were cast here at Hogsmeade and then it was time to go to Hogwarts. The castle ride was so much fun - the dementors still scary as last time and I knew they were coming 😂
      We ate lunch at The Hogs Head and I finally got my frozen butter beer 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Just as good as I remembered!

      Sadly it was time to leave Harry Potter for now. We thought we’d better check out the rest of the park for a bit. We went on Jurassic Park, King Kong - which we waited 40 minutes for and thought it was rubbish unfortunately, Spider-Man 3D which was great, Hulk Rollercoaster which I loved! And the Dr Doom drop ride.

      Back to Kings Cross Station to ride back to the other park. It was a different experience again (different videos) so glad we went both ways. We went on the Rock n Roll rollercoaster which went up and down the massive hill, pretty much straight up and that was scarier than going down. Also checked out Shrek 4D and the fast and furious ride.
      Then it was back to Diagon Alley to shop for school supplies 🙊 Had some pizza for dinner and then caught the Hogwarts Express for one final time back to hogsmeade for a bit more shopping and then the light show at 8:30. The light show on the Castle was AMAZING!! It made my night and completed the Harry Potter fun so well!
      As we made our way out of universal Sarah had one more thing to buy but I was done!!!! I had sore feet and was absolutely buggered!!!! But it was so worth it for a truly magical day!!!!      Okumaya devam et
