    Horsegirl energy

    February 11, 2023 in Ecuador ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

Today I proudly present my second guest writer, the Canadian (baby) animal lover: Breanna! (Thank you for taking your precious time!)

This morning we woke up early to be at breakfast for 7:15AM in our cozy little common area. Jasmine tried to get up for 6am for sunrise but failed and stayed in bed. Breakfast was yummy pancakes w fruit and then we got on a bus to the horse back riding!!! We got there a little before 9am and the guide got on a horse to show us how to ride it. The horse was not happy with him and was freaking out— this really set the tone and anxiety level of the non-experienced group. This anxiety quickly faded once we got on our horses. They were soooooo chill and just followed one another in a line and walked very slowly. The landscape was beautiful— we could see Cotopaxi Volcano from close but it was very cloudy so we unfortunately could not actually see the top of it. We were surrounded by mountains, fields, little streams, etc. It was sooo cold!!!!! No amount of layers could have prepared us. We rode for maybe 2 hours before we stopped for a break. Personally, my ass and legs were in pain and I was praying for a break lol. We stopped for maybe 15 mins and we got tea and some sort of cake. We then headed back which took maybe 1.5 hours but the guides wanted us to go faster so kept making the horses trot. I was not a fan of this but Jasmine loved it. I was bouncing so much and my butt really hurt!!!! And my backpack was bouncing up and down my back. Not a fan. When we finally got to the end, the horses were so happy without the saddles and were just rolling around in the pasture. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and had so much fun but I think it was just too long. 79/100!Read more
