🇩🇪 Nun wird es etwas nerdig, aber cool. Im Jahr 2016 kam ein Spiel für das Handy raus das Pokemon Go heißt und hat damals große Schlagzeilen gemacht. Damals hatte ich das Spiel gespielt und viel durch Berlin damit gelaufen. Doch nach einiger Zeit habe ich aufgehört. Manchmal hole ich das Spiel noch auf Reisen raus, weil es eine gute Möglichkeit ist die Gegen zu erkunden, da man in dem Spiel sich durch die echte Welt bewegen muss, um auf einer Karte dann Orte zu erreichen und Pokemon zu fangen. Finn und ich haben hier auf Bali daher manchmal von Cafes aus das Spiel etwas nebenbei gespielt und durch Zufall hatte ich gesehen, dass am 21. April ein Community Event in Denpasar ist. Zuerst war ich mir nicht sicher, ob ich dafür Zeit aufbringen wollte, doch habe mich dann dafür entschieden. Wir haben uns für eine Nacht jeweils ein Zimmer in Kuta dann noch gebucht, das nicht allzu weit von Denpasar entfernt ist.

Das Event fand in einem Park statt, der unmittelbar in der Nähe vom Immigration Office ist, bei dem wir nur wenige Tage zuvor waren. In dem Park war ein Tempel als Touristen Attraktion und viele Sportteams, die dort Training abgehalten haben und Fußball, Cricket und ein Spiel namens "Wood Stick" (Holz Stab) gespielt haben. Das letzte sah sehr ähnlich mit dem aus, was wir als Croquet kennen.

Im Park angekommen, haben wir angefangen eine Runde zu drehen und Pokemon zu fangen. Ich habe ein Bild aus dem Spiel angehangen auf dem man sieht, dass da sehr viel los war für das Community Event. Da die Sonne noch sehr stark war, haben wir uns an einem schattigen Plätzen angelehnt und von dort etwas gespielt. Ab und zu haben wir Menschen mit Handys rumlaufen sehen, die vermutlich auch gespielt haben. An unserem Ort war eine Arena, ein Ort wo man gegen stärkere Pokemon kämpfen kann und genau in dieser Arena ist ein sehr starkes Pokemon aufgetaucht. Wir sahen eine größere Gruppe von 10 bis 15 Spielern, die auf uns zukamen, um in der Arena zu kämpfen. Sie bemerkten, dass wir auch spielen und haben uns angeboten uns ihnen anzuschließen. Ab dem Moment sind wir dann mit der Gruppe, die nur aus Indonesiern und vor allem aus Balinesen bestand, durch den Park gegangen und haben gemeinsam gespielt. Es war eine sehr cool Erfahrung, da man sich während des Spielens größtenteils unterhält, da man darauf nicht wirklich konzentrieren muss. Die nächsten Stunden haben wir dann gemeinsam verbracht, haben ein paar Runden gedreht und haben so einige lokale Leute kennengelernt.

In dem Video kann man einen interessanten Moment sehen. Wir haben zusammen ein starkes Pokemon besiegt und im Anschluss hat man die Chance es zu fangen. Ich hatte das Glück eine seltene Alternativform zu bekommen und die Reaktion der anderen spricht genug für sich.

Am Ende des Events haben wir uns noch gemeinsam in den Park gesetzt, Papayas und andere lokale Früchte gegessen, die ich nicht kannte, weiter geredet und zum Schluss noch ein Gruppenfoto gemacht.

Ich hatte viel mehr Spaß dabei, als ich dachte, und bin sehr froh, dass wir zu diesem Event gefahren sind. Ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen in Thailand, Japan oder später auch in Deutschland nochmal bei so etwas mitzumachen, da man auf jeden Fall neue Leute so kennenlernt.

🇺🇸 Now it gets a bit nerdy, but cool. In 2016, a game called Pokémon Go was released for mobile phones and it made big headlines at the time. Back then, I played the game and walked a lot through Berlin with it. However, after some time, I stopped playing. Sometimes I still bring out the game when traveling because it's a good way to explore the area, as the game requires you to move through the real world to reach locations on a map and catch Pokémon. Finn and I have sometimes played the game casually from cafes here in Bali, and by chance, I saw that there is a Community Day event in Denpasar on April 21. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to make time for it, but then I decided to go for it. We each booked a room for one night in Kuta, not too far from Denpasar.

The event took place in a park near the Immigration Office, where we had been just a few days before. In the park, there was a temple as a tourist attraction and many sports teams practicing and playing football, cricket, and a game called "Wood Stick" (which looked very similar to what we know as croquet).

When we arrived at the park, we started walking around and catching Pokémon. I've attached a picture from the game that shows how busy it was for the Community Event. Since the sun was still very strong, we leaned against some shady spots and played from there. Occasionally, we saw people with phones walking around, probably also playing. Near our location, there was a gym, a place where you can fight stronger Pokémon, and right at this gym, a very strong Pokémon appeared. We saw a larger group of 10 to 15 players approaching us to battle in the gym. They noticed that we were also playing and invited us to join them. From that moment, we walked through the park with the group, which consisted only of Indonesians, mainly Balinese, and played together. It was a very cool experience because you mostly talk during the game as it doesn’t require much concentration. We spent the next few hours together, took a few rounds, and got to know some local people.

In the video, you can see an interesting moment. We defeated a strong Pokémon together, and afterwards, you have the chance to catch it. I was lucky enough to get a rare alternate form, and the reaction of the others speaks for itself.

At the end of the event, we sat down together in the park, ate papayas and other local fruits that I didn't know, continued talking, and finally took a group photo.

I had a lot more fun than I thought I would, and I'm very glad we went to this event. I can very well imagine participating in something similar in Thailand, Japan, or later in Germany, as it's definitely a great way to meet new people.Okumaya devam et
