    Week 1: "This is gonna be so fun! Bonding time, mom!" Week 2: "Mom, please stop asking if I have to pee every 5 minutes." Week 3: "No, mom, that's not how Google Maps works!" Week 4: "Mom, if you ask me ONE MORE TIME why I’m not married yet... I’ll jump out of this car."

    But hey, here's to incredible memories, insane pit stops, and hopefully NOT murdering each other before we hit the Mediterranean! 😅🌍

    Trelleborg ferry to Travemunde

    Mom and I decided to pack up the car 🚗, hop on a ferry🛳, and head to Germany for an epic month-long road trip. We loaded up with snacks, maps (well, GPS, but Mom insisted on handwritten paper too ?! 🙄 I guess that was her map 🤣), and that exciting blend of anticipation and chaos that always comes with traveling with mom.

    The ferry ride itself is a mini adventure—wind in our hair, seagulls circling overhead, and Mom attempting to speak German to the snack bar staff (spoiler: will not be very successful 😅🤣). We will spend the whole ride planning our route, though we both know we will ditch the plan as soon as we hit the autobahn.

    And yeah forgot to tell she's already forbidden to drive 🤮🤣

    Travemunde to Dijon

    Day 1 of our epic 1-month mother-daughter road trip: I bravely take the car from the ferry🛳 in Travemünde, sinus problems and ear inflammation in full force🤒. After about 5 minutes, I’m feeling like a seasick pirate. Fast forward, we're sleeping in a random parking lot (no better 5-star hotel, right? 😂), and my mom’s driving ban has been officially lifted FORCEFULLY.

    Now, she's zooming or, more correct, coasting down the Autobahn, too scared to even touch the gas pedal, and I'm sitting in the passenger seat watching my life flash before my eyes, praying. this ride feels like the world's worst carousel. 🎢 Meanwhile, I'm crying 😨 like: Mom, Mom, Mom, MOM  please JUST Fu*beep*ck*beeep*ing USE THE CRUISE CONTROL, PLEASE🙏

    So, picture this: My mom and I are on a month-long road trip🚗. Yes, a whole month in a car with my mother. We've seen enough cows and road signs to last a lifetime when we randomly decide to make a pitstop in Luxembourg. Why Luxembourg, you ask? Because it was either that or my mom singing Bohemian Rhapsody for the 38th time.🎶

    Now, here’s the highlight of this unplanned detour: we come across the biggest baguette 🥖known to mankind. I'm talking about a baguette so huge, it might as well have had its own zip code. Naturally, we had to get it. And not just any baguette — a cheese-filled one. Like, if this baguette had a personality, it would be the type to take selfies and brag about its cheese-to-bread ratio.

    So there we were, standing in the middle of Luxembourg, with this monster baguette between us, trying to eat it with some sort of grace — but obviously failing. My mom was trying to have a deep conversation about life, but honestly, it's hard to take someone seriously when they're chewing through a baguette🥖 the size of a small canoe. I swear we looked like two squirrels trying to gnaw through a log.

    We didn’t see much of Luxembourg, but that baguette? It became the stuff of legends. The cheese🧀 alone could have fueled our trip for another week. In the end, we drove off into the sunset, bloated and slightly more bonded over carbs and dairy than we ever thought possible. Luxembourg, you weird little gem, thanks for the memories!    Read more

    Sep 11–12, 2024 in France ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

    Day 2: My mom and I set off on a month-long road trip🚗, full of excitement, snacks, and a lot of questionable navigation decisions. The plan was simple: drive to Dijon. But things got very interesting pretty fast.

    See, I absolutely *cannot* stand the robot voice on the GPS, so my mom took over the role as a navigator. Not the best idea🙄🫣. Turns out, reading directions while the car’s moving is like deciphering an ancient code for her. We must’ve made more U-turns than actual progress at one point. “Wait, I think it was the other left!” she'd say, and we'd swing around again. It was like a roundtour... of the same road.

    When we finally made it to Dijon, tired but triumphant, we thought a nice dinner would be the perfect way to celebrate. Of course, that didn’t go smoothly either. The GPS got us hopelessly lost trying to find the restaurant, sending us in circles and dark alleys until we were laughing so hard we almost gave up.

    At the end of the day, we ate good food and collapsed into our room, entertained by how disastrously fun our “simple” trip had become.🤣    Read more

    Road Trip, Day 3: The Lyon Saga

    So, it's Day 3 of the great month-long road trip 🚗with my mom, aka the Passenger Princess👑. You know, because she claims she’s "navigating," but mostly she's just sitting there, scrolling through Facebook like it's a full-time job. Meanwhile, I’m behind the wheel battling both the road and an overly confident GPS that seems determined to lead us straight into the middle of fu*beep*c*beepking nowhere.🫣

    Destination: Lyon. Sounds simple, right? WRONG!🙄. GPS had other plans. It guided us to a random street 40 minutes away from our hotel, as if it wanted us to explore the scenic outskirts of Lyon on foot, carrying all our bags like we’re in some kind of minimalist backpacking documentary. Spoiler alert📢: we weren’t. So, we shove everything back into the car and attempt Round 2.

    Of course we take another wrong turn. Mom’s still sitting there, now offering  insights like, Mahatma Gandhi himself “Well, that didn’t look like the right way.” Thanks, Captain Obvious.

    Third time’s the charm, right?🙏 And by some miracle or maybe just pure exhaustion, we FINALLY find a parking spot RIGHT outside the hotel. I could almost hear the angels singing, but no. Instead, my anxiety skyrockets because, plot twist, it’s parallel parking *in front of French people*. French people who are probably judging my every move with their refined baguette-holding🥖 hands. Just the thought of it had me sweating, but somehow, *thanks to the universe*, I didn’t have to do the full pocket park tango.

    And that, my friends, is how we survived Day 3 in Lyon without a parking ticket, a meltdown, or becoming permanent residents of the wrong side of town. Stay tuned for more uturns.

    So we left beautiful Lyon this morning and headed straight to Grenoble—OH WOW! 🤩 I fell in love instantly, and I don’t even know why! There’s just something magical about this city. ✨

    Also, can we get a round of applause? 👏 We left ALL the cockroaches🪳 behind (hopefully) where they belong, and fingers crossed, the rest of this trip will be pest-free! 🪳🚫 #NoMoreBugs

    As for my mom, she was on her best behavior today. WELL, mostly. 😅 Only a few of those classic, Are you sure you can drive there? and Turn left—no wait, right! moments. 🤦‍♀️ Also, she's now officially banned from talking about the GPS because honestly, I can do it better myself!     Day 6 of the Month-Long Road Trip with Mom – Marseille Edition 🚗🌍

    OMG, y’all, Marseille has been a JOURNEY! 💀 So first, Mom decided to take us to live in the ghetto (you know, for that LIFE experience). But HALLELUJAH, at least there were no cockroaches 🪳🙌. #WinningInTheGhetto

    Now, let me tell you, Mom is BANNED from navigating and I really do my best to remind her of that. 🚫🗺️. Forbidden! Kaput! Homegirl can’t handle it! We almost ended up on a boat to nowhere because she “thought it was a shortcut." HeLL, no ma'am! 😬 #navigationqueen

    Oh, and DRIVING? Ha! Let’s just say if I hear her cry about one more roundabout, oh theres one car on the street I'm calling an Uber. She gets so stressed she might actually sh*t herself or get a huge panicattack. So now she's been permanently banned from the driver’s seat. 🚘💨

    Book hotels? Don't think so, naaah, don't even get me started. It’s literally a life-or-death situation in some of the regions we’ll be visiting later, and she was about to book us into a place that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since 1960. 😳 #NOPE

    Honestly, the next step is to just stick a sock in her mouth 🧦 and strap her to the car seat, like "just enjoy the ride, Mom!" 😂 But I love her, I swear.

    As for Marseille itself, things were a little rough at first, but we FINALLY found the right neighborhood 🙏✨. Now, it’s sooo much better! The people here are friendly, thank God, but like, seriously, can someone PLEASE clean up the town? 🧹💁‍♀️ #MarseilleMakeoverNeeded    Read more

    So we finally made it to Monaco and y’all, I’m THIS CLOSE to losing my mind 😅. The GPS decided it was a good idea to take us on a 5-minute detour while we WALKING around with our heavy darn bags, completely clueless about where the room was. And get this—after wandering around like lost tourists, my mom knocks on a stranger’s door, asking them where our room is (awkward!). Turns out, the rooms on the first floor are numbered 5... while the second floor starts with 1, 2, 3, 4. Whaaat?! 🤯 Who designed this place, a puzzle master?? Just me? 🤷‍♀️

    Anyway, we FINALLY found our room, and by then I was sweating like a pig and so freaking annoyed, but mom tried her best to cheer me up. She's like, “It’s your birthday, smile!” Bless her heart. 🥲 YAY, happy birthday to me 🎉—one year older and MORE confused about life than ever 😜

    We showed up late to the restaurant, but OMG, the staff was the sweetest and also the other people sitting there and eating! They basically threw me a surprise party, and I felt like a freaking queen 👑. I was blushing like crazy, but seriously, how cute were they??

    I gotta say, even though I had a bit of an "I’m too old for this" meltdown 😭, I reminded myself: “Girl, you’re a fine whiskey, only getting better with age.” 🥃✨ So cheers to that, right?! 🙌

    So here we are, my mom and I, on the road for over a week now—#sendhelp. Between buses, trams, and my mom insisting we “police” the area (😂 kidding), I’m surprised we haven’t been taken to a mental hospital yet. Picture this: two confused hens wandering around, totally lost. Even the pigeons stopped to give us side-eye like, “Y'all okay?!”

    🎯 We saw some water on the map, thought it’d be cool to check out. Next thing you know, we’re trapped in someone’s gorgeous yard, admiring their flowers like we’re on an episode of House Hunters 🌸 But don’t worry, folks—we made it to the water, only to be greeted by a gang of squirrels! 🐿️ Squirrels. Everywhere. I want one 😍 #SquirrelSquadGoals

    Now, picture this: we’re strolling the streets, passing restaurant after restaurant (because who needs food when you're road tripping? 🤷‍♀️). Then, 10 minutes later, my lovely, slightly confused mother drops this bomb: “I’m hungry.” 😳 Me? My brain wanted to run itself into a wall.     🚗🍷 #RoadTripAdventures: Me and my mom, one fearless women and a stressful lady, decided to hit the road for more than a month of laughs, wrong turns, and spontaneous fun! 🌍✨

    🛑 HOLD UP—I just remembered I forgot to tell you about our vineyard misadventure in Nizza Monferrato! So let’s hit rewind a few days, because this story is too good to miss. 😂🎬

    🎯 Mission: Visit this amazing vineyard. Easy, right? WRONG! The GPS had other plans, and by other plans, I mean it went absolutely LOCO. 📍 Instead of a scenic route, we were driving in circles like we were stuck in an Italian version of Groundhog Day. Around and around we went, until the road appeared. But not just any road. Oh no, this was a "Do Not Enter—Unless You're a Tractor" kind of road. 🚜

    Brave as ever (or maybe just slightly delusional), I said to my mom, This is probably the BACK WAY—let’s just take it. Of course, my mom's freakout level went from 0 to 100 real quick. This road is NOT for a Volkswagen Golf!! she warned, eyes wide. 👀 But hey, I reassured her, I've got car insurance... AND roadside assistance. I’m an adult! (Sort of.) 💁‍♀️#AdultingSoHard

    So off we went down this bumpy, questionable road. The car? An absolute CHAMPION. Sure, we hit some grass, but I like to think of it as an eco-friendly car wash. 🌿🚗 Free undercarriage cleaning, anyone? #Winning

    We finally arrived and met one of the vineyard’s owners—this super polite and chill Norwegian guy (as if this story couldn’t get more random ). 🇳🇴 He gave us the full tour, telling us all about their winemaking process and also they have this winebar in Ålesund and they win a wineprize, WOW. AND this kind man—wait for it—he gifted me a bottle of wine! 🍷🙌 so grateful.

    Fast forward to now, here in Paestum, I FINALLY got to open that bottle during my chill days. First sip? BOOM! My tastebuds were throwing a party. 💥🎉 This wine is basically like 3 Michelin stars in a glass. Yeah, I know that's for food, but hey, it’s that good. ⭐⭐⭐

    One bottle down and I’m pretty sure my taste buds are both blissed out and tipsy, but who cares?! This wine deserves its moment. 🥂

    Let me tell you about this WILD day in Bra, Italy! 🇮🇹 First off, who knew there was a whole festival here?! 🎪🎶 Naturally, mom and I had to dive into the *food* scene... and let's just say, we ATE our way through town! 😋💪

    💥 Highlight of the Day: I tried RAW SAUSAGE! 🤯 I know what you're thinking, but OMG, it was like my taste buds were having the BEST time of their lives!! (💥 Not kidding, I think my tongue got some action here. 🍆💋)

    And the pasta? Forget it! 😍 I legit got down on one knee and proposed to the chef. 🍝💍 He didn’t say yes, but hey, I shot my shot, right? 🤷‍♀️💫

    After mom hit the sack 🛏️, the festival REALLY kicked off! 🎉 People *everywhere*, music, wine, and good vibes. 🍷✨ My Italian? Umm, improving... maybe. 😅 But I danced the night away and felt like an honorary local! 💃💕

    Just wrapped up an epic pitstop in Monforte di Alba, and let me tell you, this place is like something out of a fairytale! 🌄✨ The views are to die for—rolling hills, vineyards, and cute little houses everywhere! I couldn't resist flying my drone, capturing the magic from above. 📸✈️

    Mom decided she was a “wine goddess” and posed dramatically in the vineyards, while I was busy trying to get the perfect aerial shot (which thankfully didn’t end in disaster!). 😂

    🌍 Italian Roadtrip Adventures: Day Who-Knows-What 🤷‍♀️

    So, we said arrivederci to Bra today (yes, the city is literally called Bra 🤣). And let me tell you, I was OBSESSED with it! 😍 Heading to Nizza Monferrato, we decided to hit up a vineyard 🍷 because, well, *wine* 🥂. And while we were cruising through Italy’s postcard-perfect scenery, we made a few random stops at places that were straight-up gorgeous. Don't ask me where we went though, because I have ZERO recollection of the names, but trust me, it was BEAUTIFUUUULL. #NotLostJustExploring #SomewhereInItaly

    After pitstops, hairpin turns for DAYS (seriously, those serpentine roads will haunt my dreams), we FINALLY stopped. And guess what? Mom's one job—find us a place to sleep—didn't go exactly as planned. She somehow books a room… WITHOUT A TOILET. Excuse me, what? 😳 My ONE request was that we have a bathroom! I mean, I love an adventure, but I don't want to be practicing zen-mode pooping while someone rattles the door handle every five seconds!! 💀 #BathroomDrama #LetMePoopInPeace

    And if that wasn’t enough, the room looks like it's been stuck in a time capsule since the 1950s. Like, full-on grandma vibes with creaky old furniture that’s probably seen some things.     Woke up this morning in the GRUMPIEST mood EVER because—guess what—my mom decided to have a snoring/coughing concert all night long. 🎤🎶 When I finally managed to fall asleep, my sweet, angelic mother (SARCASM) wakes up like it's showtime! 🌞✨ She was TRYING" to be a graceful ballerina (in her head), but she sounded like a freight train dragging her bag through the room. 🧳🚂

    No coffee, no patience, just me throwing things into the car in FULL frustration mode! 😤👊 So we hit the road, me driving like a storm cloud 🌩️ until we found a cute little café. FINALLY, I got my coffee—and the second that glorious liquid hit my lips, I swear, angels were singing. ☕🎶

    And THEN—just when I thought my day couldn't get any better—cue the entrance of some very cute, very polite Italian policemen. 🚓👮‍♂️ Let's just say, my mood did a full 180. 😏✨ Who knew the Italian police could be sooo charming?!

    Now, we’ve rolled into Pisa and did the classic "I'm holding up the Leaning Tower" photos like total tourists. 📸😜 Next up: Florence! Gonna spend a couple of days there and FINALLY rest up. 🛏️🙏

    Day Who-The-Hell-Knows-Anymore of our epic road trip! 😅 🚗 Still got about 3-ish (??) weeks left, give or take a few U-turns and accidental detours. So... we FINALLY made it to Florence after approximately 467 U-turns (bless the navigation queen herself—Mom, obviously ). Let me tell you, my GPS had a full-on meltdown and just stopped working, and my brain went full freakout so I had to rely on the ONE and ONLY person who navigates via intuition” or so she says.

    But hey, the hotel is actually super cute! 🎉 Major victory for Mama, because guess what? No zoo animals, weird decor, or mystery smells in this one. We deserved some nap time after all the drama, obviously. 😴 Then it was time to find the water we saw on the map. And here’s the plot twist: Mom actually read the map correctly on the first try. 🤯 I know, right?! Fingers crossed we didn’t just jinx ourselves, but miracles happen!

    Next up: dinner. Found a gorgeous pizzeria with a magical backyard that looks straight out of a Pinterest board. 😍 Ordered a pizza that, and I kid you not, could have fed an entire village. Thank god the waitress warned us it was for two people, because we were about to get buried under a mountain of dough and cheese. 🍕🥴 Still couldn’t finish it and had to give up, but hey, at least we tried.

    🍝 Road tripping through Italy with my mom 🍝🚗

    GUYS. You won’t BELIEVE what just happened. We pulled into this adorable little bed and breakfast, all cute and cozy, and guess what? They served us the BEST sandwich in all of Italy! 🇮🇹💃 Like, move over Rome, Florence, and the Amalfi Coast – THIS. PLACE. WINS. 🥪✨

    But hold on to your pasta, because things got crazier I kid you not, we devoured a steak so big it could cover TWO football fields. 🏈🏈 YES, TWO. 😳 It was basically a perfect cow who lived its best life just to become the most EPIC steak we’ve ever had. Sorry, vegans, but I swear, it was a transcendent experience. I’ll make up for it in my next life, I promise. 😅🙏

    So, *picture this*. You’re on a month-long road trip with your *MAMA*. What could go wrong? Spoiler: everything and nothing. It's a wild mix of comedy and chaos! 😅

    **Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day, But Our Chaos Was** 🏛️

    Yesterday, we hit Rome 🇮🇹 and reunited with my friend of 20 years. To celebrate, we rented a four-person bicycle 🚲 (because why do anything normal, right?). It looked fun but felt like dragging a cement truck. We scream-laughed the whole way while Mama *yelled directions* like we were in the Italian Grand Prix 🏎️. Somehow, we survived—victorious, if not sweaty. 🏅

    **The Metro Madness** 🚇

    Just as we thought we had the day under control, BAM! My friend gets *pickpocketed* on the metro. 🕵️‍♂️💸 One minute we’re talking gelato 🍦, next minute, their wallet's doing its own Roman tour. 😱 Mama was like, “What can you do but laugh?” (Her other advice: "Never trust a public restroom" 🚽, but that’s another story.)

We hit a restaurant and I made the EPIC decision to order veal, which honestly tasted like it had been dragged through a mud pit. 🤢 Meanwhile, my mom was over here TRYING TO CHOKE HERSELF ON A BURGER 🍔—like, I'm whacking her on the back, trying to yell "COUGH IT OUT!"     Okay, so I THOUGHT a cute little road trip through Italy would be this *dreamy* experience—sunsets, scenic drives, endless pasta and maybe some sexy Italian accents? WRONG. 🚫 My current reality? I’m in Napoli, and let me tell you, I’m now questioning EVERY SINGLE LIFE CHOICE that led me here. 😩

    First of all, THE ROADS What are these? A post-apocalyptic obstacle course?? 🏎️💥 Potholes the size of my regrets, dirt like we’re off-roading through an abandoned construction site, and I swear my car is considering quitting on me. I can literally hear it groaning every time I hit another crater. RIP, sweet car. You were too good for this world. 😭💔 #CarFuneralSoon

    And guess what? I dragged myself here for a pizza. A PIZZA, Jessica. Seriously, how stupid can you be??? 🤦‍♀️ Like, I could have ordered a decent pizza back home, sat in peace, and watched Netflix, but noooooo, I decided to DRIVE THROUGH NAPOLI to find one. #BadDecisionsWereMade

    Right now, all I want is to lock myself in the room and never emerge. EVER. Maybe I’ll just become a hermit and send postcards to the outside world like, Yeah, I came to Italy and never left my room.🏨✨

    I mean, I’m still holding on to the faint hope that the people are friendlier than the roads, but honestly, at this point, a smile won’t fix the trauma of this journey. 😅 So, what now?     🚗 Napoli Adventures : Pizza, Naps & Ballerina Moms🍕🍷 #HelpMe

    So, after the trauma of Napoli's roads and my near car funeral, we decided to actually go explore the city. 🌆 Turns out, Napoli has some really cool stuff going on (who knew?). We walked around, and I swear, I found like 12 buildings I’m ready to renovate. 🏚️💸 Unfortunately, my bank account disagrees. Where are you, money, when I need you? 😭 #BrokeButVisionary

    In MY mind, these crumbling buildings are beautiful. Architectural masterpieces waiting for a Jessica touch. In reality, though? They probably need more work than my will to live. 🤷‍♀️ But still… potential!

    After endless strolling, we stumbled across the cutest little center full of boutiques. 🌸 We window-shopped, but then I was like, “Yeah, cool, but can we GO BACK NOW?” I needed a nap, and let’s just say I’m a pro at collapsing into a bed. 😴💤

    Cue my ballerina mom. 💃 She’s the human equivalent of a tap dance when she rummages through her bags. Quiet is NOT in her vocabulary. Of course, my peaceful nap dreams were shattered, and I turned into Grumpy Cat 🐱. So, what do I do? I’m like, Fine! Let’s play Yahtzee since you're clearly on a mission to ruin my sleep. And we did.

    Guess who won 3 out of 3 games? Oh yeah, ballerina b*tch mom over here, gracefully crushing my soul with every roll. 🎲🙄 The woman is a Yahtzee ninja and shows no mercy.

    Finally, 7 PM rolled around, and I knew the pizza place was open. 🍕 The reason I came to Napoli—the promise of the world's best pizza. So, we rushed over, grabbed our pizza and some wine (because by this point, I needed emotional support), and the pizza was DELICIOUS. 🍷

    BUT—wait for it—I STILL think the best pizza is in… ÖREBRO. 😳 Y’all, I drove 3,714 kilometers to the mecca of pizza only to realize I’ve almost been living next door to the greatest slice! Like, seriously?! #fratellisörebro

    At least the wine was AMAZING. 🍇✨ I’m ready to drown in a wine barrel and call it a day. If I die in Italy, let it be in a vineyard with a glass in hand, okay? #WineGoals
