    Darwin

    March 16, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

We have had excellent sailing conditions since leaving Cairns, in fact the Seas have been like a millpond !

A few things have meant it's been rather quiet for us as Barry has been unwell. He soldiered on in Cairns, as he didn't want to cancel seeing Andrew. Once back onboard his cough increased, & after various tests the doctor diagnosed pneumonia. Luckily we have a balcony which means he can sit outside & get fresh air. Hopefully in the next week he'll improve with the medication prescribed.

We are off ship today but our sightseeing is limited to getting supplies from the pharmacy & battling the humidity here in the NT.

Our friends onboard have been great , very supportive, which helps when travelling & we've made sure to delivery plenty of treats to Cabin E104!

Our cruise is very relaxing otherwise with lectures, movies, quiz shows & a high standard of talent as well.

Around 1% of the people onboard are unwell with either the gastro bug or Covid. This is a very small percentage but there is no self service in the Buffet, & masks are encouraged along with hand washing to keep bugs at bay. Unfortunately the laundry stations are closed- so lots of hand washed undies at present!! We will survive I'm sure.

Personally as hot as the weather is today in Darwin, it could be very wet, so I just have to put up with the 90% humidity !

My photos will only be a few for our quick visit to the Mall this morning !
