It was announced late morning that our ship would be making an emergency stop in Albany. A seriously ill person would be transported from the ship as we had four sea days before arriving in Pt Lincoln.
The whole transfer was a "ship to shore". We anchored some distance from the Port to allow the ship to be met by medical personnel. This was unsuccessful due to the size of the craft so one of our Tender boats became the next option to be met by ambulance & medical staff onshore.
This took most of the afternoon while we waited to set sail. The tender finally returned & our Captain announced that we would easily make up the time in the 3 sailing days across the Bight into Sth Australia.Read more
