    Pt Lincoln SA

    March 26, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

After four days sailing, both Barry & I were really looking forward to a full day out and about in Port Lincoln.

Our arrival was around 8am, but the weather wasn't on our side, it was cool & raining.

Boston Bay on a fine day I'm sure is quite picturesque. It is larger than Sydney Harbour & Pt Lincoln is the seafood capital of Australia! The Traditional name for Pt Lincoln is Kallinyalla which means "Place of Sweet Water".

There is an abundance of fresh seafood, oysters prawns & Lobster as well as bluefin tuna.

Plenty of fishing trawlers we visible further around the bay so we were sure to have plenty of variety on our menu this evening.

It would have been a leisurely foreshore stroll, but the showers had set in & the local market stalls were moved inside the local Boston Pub.

We made our way for a coffee & Sunday Mail to a French Cafe recommended by Lyn & David. Barry was anxious to dissect Ports dismal loss; no one else in our group seemed interested at all.

The day was shortened by the weather so we returned to our ship for tea & hot scones & dry clothes. At least the step count was well over 10,000 !
