  • Buenos Aires - day 1

    30 Januari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

After 13 hours long bus journey (we had 1 hour delay) we arrived in Buenos Aires. We had quite a comfortable night and were ready to walk a bit around the city. Our Airbnb was available from 15 o’clock so we had some time left. We dropped the backpacks in bus terminal and went by metro to the Obelisk of Buenos Aires where we had very tasty and in our opinion quite expensive breakfast. According the internet the current exchange rate is 1€ = 200 Argentinian Peso. So when we calculated our breakfast bill of 4600 pesos we thought hm Argentina is expensive 😅. We had some Brazilian money left so we thought let’s exchange it. Flo said the rate is 30 for 1 brasilian real but the lady told us no it’s 65… it was very weird so we started to make a research 🧐 there are actually two different exchange rates on the market, the official one and blue rate from black market. Current blue rate is 1€ = 400 pesos so we were immediately thinking how can we get it. After some research in restaurant and our Airbnb we managed to get a deal 390 pesos per 1€ 🤩💪🏼 that was actually the success of our late afternoon before that we made very intense sightseeing and visited many places our dear Sabine suggested 😉 we walked around the city center, saw president palace,
Parlament, national Bank, Palace Barolo and new modern quarter Puerto Madero which reminded us a bit of Pudong area in Shanghai. We really liked the city and also our cool neighborhood Palermo where we booked the Airbnb which is also awesome. This city has a really cool vibes and doesn’t seem as dangerous as Rio or São Paulo (at least our first impression).

  • Day trip to Uruguay from Buenos Aires

    31 Januari 2023, Uruguay ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Just 1 hour away by ferry from Buenos Aires you can find beautiful colonial town Colonia del Sacramento ~ popular place for day tourists or people continuing their journey to other parts of Uruguay. This town is very small and tourists can see everything in 1 - 2 hours. There is beautiful old town which is also part of UNESCO and nice coast. Inside of the old town there are plenty of cute restaurants and bars to enjoy traditional Uruguay dish sandwich Chivito or just get drinks or coffee. It was for us very surprising to see how organized, cleaned and maintained the city was. Also the prices were very close to European ones 😁🥲 all in all we really enjoyed it and would recommend it to sb who has some time left in Buenos Aires but it is definitely not must see in our opinion. In the evening we had a reservation in restaurant La Cabrera which Sabine recommended. The food, drinks and service were beyond our expectations and we probably never eat such a great food. At the end our bill was 64€ but considering steaks for 2, bottle of great red one, salad, entrance and service it was not bad at all 🤩👌🏼Baca lagi

  • Arrival in Patagonia

    1 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Although our flight was departing in the afternoon we were quite lazy to do something. Flo also needed to catch up with work and I had also one very important mission to complete 😁🙊. In Patagonia there are less opportunities to get a cash better say get a cash for better rate so it is advised to stock up cash before leaving any big city. We transferred over western union 400€ which is with the blue rate more then 160.000 Argentinian Pesos 😅 my task for the morning was to collect the money which can be quite tricky as not all western union offices has enough cash. Firstly there was an issue with my passport and also the office had only 300€ equivalent available so they sent me to another office. There after 15 minutes waiting I got 300€ equivalent but the other transaction of 100€ was not working so I had to wait again. Our check out was quite soon and I still needed to change and finish packing. My internet was also not working so I could not contact Flo who was already very worried… 11:40 I was finally done and left the office with crazy amount of cash (they had only 500 pesos bills 🤣). I decided to grab a taxi and stay safe plus it was also much faster then walking all the way back 2 km. I arrived 10 minutes before check out to our flat, Flo already packed 90% of our things so I just quickly finished the rest. After delicious lunch in cafe across the street we left to the airport to take the flight to El Calafate the hiking paradise of Argentina 🇦🇷. It has been my dream for very long and the excitement was very high. After long flight (almost 3 hours) we landed more then 2000 km southern from Buenos Aires. Yes Argentina is soooo huge. We will be spending some time in El Calafate but firstly it was time to board probably the most scenic bus ride of our lifes ❤️ you check the photos by yourself 😉 in the reality the views were even better and we cannot wait to spend here next 2 weeks.Baca lagi

  • El Chaltén - day 1

    2 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

The weather forecast looked for next two days very promising so we wanted to use the good weather and do the top activities in the area. Normally if the tourists come just for a day it is recommended to do the hike to Laguna de los tres - the most remarkable hike in the area to the beautiful turquoise lake right below the famous mountain Fitz Roy. The hike is also very challenging and not for everyone. The route is in total 25 km long with the very steep and technical part at the end before reaching the lake. On average the hike takes between 8-10 hours. We were unsure if we can do it. We needed to get food and drinks for the day as not an opportunity to buy something and also to rent sticks. The gear rental shop was opening at 9 o’clock so it could be too late for departure. Patagonian summer days are fortunately long enough (sunset around 22:30) so we departed 9:20 and left for one of our best adventures so far. Quite quickly we gained the first high meters and overpassed lot of not very fit hikers. The trail wasn’t that packed so we could easily move along different viewpoints and river crossings till the small rest stop under the “1km left // hard part is starting the trail will take 1 more hour” sign. Here the part was very steep, rocky and slippery. People were also already going down so there was traffic in both directions. Totally exhausted we arrived on the top and we’re rewarded with magnificent views of the lagoon and Fitz Roy mountain. I continued alone to the bottom of the lake until reaching on the left side the viewpoint of laguna Sucia. We had nice lunch and rest a bit before going back to town. The way down was long and we could feel the lack of energy after a long hike. We arrived after 9 hours back to village tired and happy. As a reward we got some drinks and dinner and went to bed. Next day gonna be an adventure as well.Baca lagi

  • El Chaltén - day 2

    3 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

It’s 7 in the morning and we are still quite tired because of our hike yesterday. Okay Flo we Need to rush, the bus is departing in 45 minutes… yes, instead of some relax we booked a bicycle trip to Laguna del Desierto. Laguna del Desierto is lesser visited part of this area. It’s a very beautiful lake located 37km from El Chaltén and it’s used by hikers and cyclists for border crossing on foot to Chilean city Villa O’higgins. We got transported by van to Laguna del Desierto. From there we had the whole day time to return back to El Chalten on mountain bikes. The way takes usually around 4 hours and you are driving though the most remote and amazing landscapes one can ever see. Although the road is not a bicycle path you hardly meet any car. We also got a map with all the points of interests along the way including some tips for exploring our starting point as well. The trip was extremely beautiful and memorable. The path was quite difficult to be honest. In Germany I would have never problem riding bike for 37km but with the mountain bike on this terrain it’s a different story. We passed two beautiful waterfalls, 1000+ viewpoints 😂, many bridges, beautiful lake Laguna Condor where we had lunch and took a nap 💤, and we saw several glaciers. The path was very beautiful and no pictures can express the beauty of this place. We celebrated our amazing day with some cocktails in Happy Hour and I cooked for Flo his favorite food.Baca lagi

  • El Chaltén - day 3

    4 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

Today we spent relaxing and discovering local restaurants 😉 we also booked some hotels for next weeks, bought flight tickets to north Chile and checked the hikes in Torres del Paine. Sometimes it’s important to just relax, play cards, read books or check emails.Baca lagi

  • El Chaltén - day 4

    5 Februari 2023, Argentina

Today it’s unfortunately our last day in El Chaltén already. Most of the tourists come here to do two famous hikes - Laguna de los Tres which we did on our first day and Laguna Torre. Still quite tired but motivated we departed towards Laguna Torre. We had plenty of time as our bus was departing at 18:00 back to El Calafate where we landed few days before. Hike to Laguna Torre is marked as moderate hike and path is pretty easy, nevertheless you need to hike another 20+ km to get to the lake right below the famous mountain Cerro Torre. The path is really not difficult and without the exhaustion of the last days it would be a piece of cake 😁. First part of the hike has lot of ups and downs but then it’s very relaxing walk till the lake. By the lake it was super windy and cold and unfortunately Cerro Torre was covered in clouds. We decided to continue walking back and eat our lunch somewhere else. The whole hike took us 6,5 hours in total with breaks (we even walked quite slow as we were not in a rush). Back in the hotel we found out that Flo’s blister got double of size and that’s why he had some troubles walking… we grabbed our backpacks, mine for some reason heavier then ever before 🤣 and left to the bus station. With some time left we stopped in local cafe and got some nice cake and coffee plus super tasty sandwiches for the bus ride. I was quite looking forward to the bus ride, just to sit and observe this beautiful landscapes but l definitely didn’t expect bus in very poor conditions with gear issues and weird smell. We were really worried that we will get stuck in the middle of nowhere and waiting for rescue bus to come to pick us up 😅😅😅😅 luckily all worked well and we arrived safely to El Calafate. We ended up our evening with some drinks in hostel lobby and playing Uno 😁Baca lagi

  • El Calafate & Perito Moreno glacier

    6 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

El Calafate is not very special city. Most of the tourists come here to make trips around the national park Los Glaciares. This place is very touristy with many restaurants, luxury hotels and tons of travel agencies. The tours are quite expensive, e.g. kayak tour around glaciers costs around 150€ per person, glacier trekking mini 150€, full day 250€, boat tours 100+€…. As we plan to do the glaciar boat cruise in Chile we decided to skip it here and just visit the national park. National park is located 80km from el Calafate and there is regular bus service going to the part twice a day. We decided to go around lunch time and use free morning for washing the clothes and getting some cash again. Unfortunately there were some water cuts in the city and laundry couldn’t accept any new orders. Also there was a money issue in the city 🤣 all the western union stations were either closed, run out of money. The only working station had about 3 hours long queue 🤣🤣🤣 so I walked back to the hostel got our last cash we took from home and went to exchange office. Flo made in the meantime friends with Dutch couple which told him that you actually get for card transactions in Argentina money refunded so the final rate is not 200 but rather 350 🤣🤣 how weird is that 🤣🤣🤣 we checked our bills and found out that the guys were right so problem solved and we will get our cash later from western union in Mendoza. We departed with 12:30 bus to the national park and after 1,5 hours we started to walk around this amazing place. The weather was again great and we were impressed by the views. There were not that many people so we could also sit on the bench and just enjoy the views. The sound of cracking glacier was incredible and we even got to see several ice blocks to fall down (watch the video later 😉). We celebrated another amazing day in South America with Mexican food and drinks. Tomorrow we will enter the next country to continue our Patagonian adventure ❤️🇨🇱Baca lagi

  • Torres del Paine - day 1

    7 Februari 2023, Chile

After our bus drive where I almost became a criminal 🤣 (I brought 1 apple to Chile which is illegal) we spent few ours in Puerto Natales and were getting ready for camping in National Park Torres del Paine. We picked up our rental car, camping gear and food from supermarket. Chile is very very expensive so we really hope that it’s worth it 😁🙊 the guy from camping gear rental gave us also cool suggestions and helped us to book the boat trip for Friday to see the grey glaciar. Although our camp is right in the middle of national park and it’s only about 100km away from Puerto Natales we needed 2 hours by car to get there. The road is partially unpaved and there are also lot of holes 😅😅 plus we stopped for pictures to admire the beauty and remoteness of this place 🤩🇨🇱 we set up the tent, cooked spaghetti bolognese and went sleep 💤Baca lagi

  • Torres del Paine - day 2

    8 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

After quite comfortable night and breakfast we departed to Laguna Azul. The path was again very bad so 51km took us almost 1,5 hours. We even saw rainbow and Alpakas on the way 😍. Laguna Azul is the westernmost part of the National Park and not many people visit this place. You can go hiking, camp there or do horse riding. We decided to do the hike to Laguna Cebolla ~ 18km long moderate path along the Laguna Azul over the meadows till Laguna Cebolla. It took us 4,5 hours to complete the route with breaks and we really liked the path especially the first part with the views of Laguna Azul and famous tower mountains. It’s actually the only place except of the Base of the towers where you can see it. From all other parts of the national parks the towers are hidden. During the whole hike we meet only 2 people so yes it is still possible to find remote place and hikes. On the way back we decided to stop in few places and not to drive straight to our camping place. It was anyway still quite early. Our first stop was Paine Waterfall 😍 we were almost alone there. Shortly after the waterfall it started to rain heavily so we could stop at any of the viewpoints… better say there were no views 🤣. Shortly before our camping place there is a cute island with restaurant (Hosteria Pehoe) so we got there some hot chocolate and then returned around 6 to the camp. After rain it got super windy and cold (below 10 degrees) so we really hope for comfortable night 💤😂Baca lagi

  • Torres del Paine - day 3

    9 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

We woke up at 6 in the morning after super windy night. It felt sometimes like that there is a tornado outside 🤣 the weather in the morning was great and mountains were shining bright with first sunlight 😍 we prepared breakfast and then departed to Hotel Las Torres - the starting point of hike to Mirador Base de Las Torres. This hike is the most popular and most beautiful one in this national park. It is final stage of all the multi day hikes and popular place among day trippers. We drove around 50 minutes to the starting point (35km only) and stoped on the way in the Nordenskjold Viewpoint. At 8am we were ready and motivated to hike 😁 the weather looked great so we were looking forward to explore this national park even more. According to the map it is 4,5 hours to the viewpoint. After 2 hours we should reach Chileno Camp where we can eat and drink something. We were very fast, Flo overpassed most of the tourists and we arrived to the camp after 1,5 hours. We ate some snacks and continued to the viewpoint. Last 45 minutes were very rocky and steep but we managed to get to the lake in only 3,5 hours with breaks. The views were spectacular, there were not many people and the wind was crazy 😂 I had to wear all the jackets I had in my backpack in order to not freeze immediately 🙊 We ate sandwiches, took pictures and after 45 minutes we were ready to go back to Camp Chileno. We were really shocked how many people were going up, there was literally a traffic jam 😅😅 we saw also plenty of exhausted inexperienced hikers going up without food, drinks and with bad shoes 😢 I do not understand how people can underestimate the situation that much. We are talking here about 20km / 9 hours long hike not a walk in city park. Anyway we got around 14:15 to Chileno camp ate tasty cake, drink coffee and were ready for last 5km to the car. Overall the hike is not super easy but also not super difficult if you are experienced or as us you hiked a lot in last days 🤣 around 6 in the evening it started to rain again so we escaped to the common area of our campsite.Baca lagi

  • Torres del Paine - day 4

    10 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ 🌧 9 °C

After stormy night we decided to have a relaxed morning and pack slowly our things. We booked for today afternoon boat trip to Grey Glaciar. After lunch we departed to Grey lake. The road was again spectacular and we stopped few times for pictures. We arrived quite early to the Grey hotel and had to wait almost 2 hours. There was a nice restaurant with the lake view. The lake directly by the hotel is not very deep so tourists have to cross the black sand beach to get to the boat. The path is spectacular, views are amazing and it’s really cool activity to do even if you don’t book the boat trip. The weather today was really crazy it was raining and stormy all the time and sometimes there was suddenly sun shining for 10 minutes 🤣. The boat trip was really cool we got to sail for around 2,5 hours and saw 3 different parts of Grey Glacier. We drunk Pisco Sour local cocktail with ice cubes directly from glacier 😍. Overall the trip was really cool. Seeing few days ago more impressive Perito Moreno Glacier we would, if we could, do rather the boat trip in Argentina. If you visit only one part of Patagonia definitely do not miss this opportunity and do the boat trip, yes it’s pricey but it’s unique lifetime experience 😉. We got back to our car around 19:30 and started to drive back to Puerto Natales which is about 100km away. Our plan was to sleep in the car somewhere on the way as there is no camping place on the way. Unfortunately we could not find any suitable place. Everywhere was a fence as the land belongs to someone. We ended up in Puerto Natales quite tired and desperate 😂 hotel prices are really high here ~ average price per night 230€ 😅 but we luckily found beautiful hotel with breakfast in the city center for 100€ and spoiled ourselves after some uncomfortable nights in tent. You can see how happy Flo was about our decision 😁😁Baca lagi

  • Puerto Natales

    11 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

In the morning we brought tent and rental car back. We wandered a bit about the city and got tasty lunch menu for 10€ per person which included 1 drink, soup and main dish ~ steak with potatoes and salad. The food was really good. We walked around the lake promenade and then sat down in hotel lobby to chill a bit and book our next hotels and flights. At 20:00 our flight to Santiago de Chile was departing. Puerto Natales has the smallest airport I have ever seen 🤣 it’s also operating only in summer and for example to Santiago there are only 2 flights per week. Most of the tourists have to fly to Punta Arenas and then take bus to Puerto Natales. We will be now spending next 6 days in Santiago and catching some sleep, washing our clothes and planning next weeks of our journey ☺️Baca lagi

  • Santiago de Chile - day 1

    12 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

After long sleep, washing all our clothes, cooking lunch we decided to go for a walk to the center which is right around the corner. The main square Plaza de Armas is only 10 minutes walk from our Airbnb. The cathedral was unfortunately closed so we will try to visit it next days. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed so we are curious how the city will look like other days of the week. We also visited nearby hill Cerro Santa Lucía where one can see from the top the nice view of the city. It’s a really nice park but you can see that they are not taking care of it that much which is really sad. We also saw many homeless and poor people on the streets (taxi driver told us that they are mainly from Venezuela or Peru). In general we prefer more South American nature and small town then big cities (except of maybe Buenos Aires and Rio 😁). Right next to our apartment it’s a really cool food truck courtyard where you can eat really good and cheap different types of cuisine so we definitely know where we gonna get dinner next days 😁😁😉Baca lagi

  • Santiago de Chile - day 2

    13 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Another lazy day is over. We prepared breakfast and lunch in our Airbnb. Flo was working for few hours and later in the afternoon we went for a walk around the city. The city center was definitely more lively then on Sunday. First we walked to local food market ~ Mercado Central Santiago then to cathedral to see it from inside. Our last stop was the Italian neighborhood very cool area full of bars, restaurants and small shops. Perfect place to go out or buy some cool local souvenirs. We ended up our evening by the food trucks next to our place and I introduced Flo to Venezuelan food Cachapas which I know from my times working as Au-pair in Spain.Baca lagi

  • Day trip to Valparaiso & Viña del Mar

    14 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

Just 115km away from Santiago there are two very popular cities ~ Valparaiso & Viña Del Mar. Probably the most popular day trip from Santiago. We departed quite early to fully enjoy the cities. We took direct bus to Valparaiso and in only 1 hour 20 minutes we were standing in the bus terminal of Valparaiso. Our first impressions were not good. The city was dirty, smelly, lot of homeless people everywhere and half destroyed buildings😅😢. We took bus to the city and after coffee we were ready to walk. Valparaiso is big port city built on 42 hills 😅 there are several funiculars driving for like 0,1€ up and down but anyway you must count with lot of steps. The city is not only well known for its funiculars and ocean views but it’s also well known as the most colorful city on Chile and popular among street art lovers. We liked to walk around but to be honest we do not necessarily need to go again. After the visit was over we had still half of the day left and decided to depart by local bus to nearby city Viña Del Mar. Viña is popular beach town and known as best place to live in Chile. The beach was nice, town has lot of nice restaurants, bars and clubs but apart from that there was nothing really special about it. We had nice lunch in Italian restaurant and then in the afternoon we took bus back to Santiago. In the evening we stayed at home and drink a bottle of local premium wine ~ Tarapaca (thanks to my father for recommendation 😁).Baca lagi

  • Santiago de Chile - day 3

    15 Februari 2023, Chile

It’s our last full day in Santiago. We departed quite early from our Airbnb and left to the bus station to check few things. Afterwards we drove by metro to station Baquedano. From there you need to walk around 10 minutes to funicular station Pio Novo. This area is called Providencia and in our opinion that’s the best area to stay in Santiago. There are lot of cool restaurants and bars and the area has a good vibe. There is also cool food court called Bellavista which must be great place in the evening. We had to wait quite some time for funicular. In just few minutes the funicular gets you to the top of the Cerro San Cristóbal with amazing views over the city. People either go down same way or can continue by cable car to the other part of the park. The area is huge, there are also driving sightseeing buses around, there is Zoo, botanical garden, 2 outdoor pools, adventure park ect. You can easily spend the whole day there. We bought one way ticket as we wanted to exit the part from other side and go up to Costanera ~ highest building in South America. We wanted to go on Monday but I read in the internet that every Wednesday they have DJ up there and organize summer sunset parties without additional fee. It was really amazing afternoon and probably my favorite activity to do in Santiago 🤩 in winter the views must be even better 👌🏼Baca lagi

  • Mendoza - day 1

    16 Februari 2023, Argentina

Mendoza is such a beautiful city that we were just enjoying our day and walked around without taking pictures 🤣. We arrived in early afternoon after 40 minutes long flight from Santiago. Today we were not doing anything specific just discovering the area and planning all wine tastings for next days, Mendoza is called world capital city of wine for a reason 🍷. Mendoza is located directly between the wine fields and wine tasting is also very cheap here. Argentina is also paradise for meat lovers so why not to start our trip to Mendoza with excellent dinner for less then 40€ for both of us. ❤️Baca lagi

  • Mendoza - day 2

    17 Februari 2023, Argentina

We woke up and it was very cold outside… we wanted to do bicycle tour around wineries but we didn’t pack warm clothes (we left my backpack in Santiago). We decided instead to do the 1/2 day bodega Tour organized by our hostel. The tour was leaving at 2 o’clock so we got some time left to check emails and stroll around the city. Nearby our place is the biggest city park of Mendoza Parque General San Martín which we went to visit. The principal entrance has a beautiful entrance and short walk from the gate you reach Fountain of Continents. The square is surrounded by food trucks and the atmosphere was really nice. We saw lot of people outside jogging, bicycling, walking or even touring the artificial lake by canoe. At the moment there is a wine festival in Mendoza and one of the locations where the celebrations take place are located also in the park. Around 14:30 we got picked up by van and drove for around 30 minutes to the first winery Bodega Domiciano. Boutique Winery focusing their production exclusively on red wines. We tried 3 different wines and tour their wine cellar. Next stop was Bodega Baudron which is an industrial winery producing red & white wine as well as sparkling wines. The bottles were cheap here, starting price of 2€ per bottle but we didn’t like it that much. Mendoza is famous not only for wine production but it’s also one of the biggest exporters on olive oil worldwide. To have a short break between wine tasting we visited one boutique olive oil production site and did there also tasting of olive oils and antipasti creams. Last stop of the tour was winery Florio which compared to other wineries in region focus more on white wine, sparkling wines and wine liquors e.x. Jerez. We didn’t like the products of the last winery either but it was nice to also be able to enter the wine yards 🍷. Overall this excursion is the must if you are in Mendoza. You can visit the best wineries in region if you ready to pay high entrance and tasting fees. Also the places in good wineries tent to sell out fast so book well in advance. For us this trip was the best option, costing only 15€ per person and including all tastings and transfers.Baca lagi

    20 Februari 2023, Argentina ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

In the morning we embarked on spectacular and long bus ride to Santiago de Chile. The road is only 360 km long but due to long border controls might take up to 12 hours. Buses have an advantage as there is a special line just for buses and border crossing takes usually less time then driving by own car. The bus ride was amazing we were driving right below Andes mountains and even saw the starting point of the trail to go to Aconcagua base camp. In Chile we had to get out of the bus and the whole process took more then an hour 🤣. After 7,5 hours we finally arrived in Santiago. Ready to cook and chill in our Airbnb.Baca lagi

  • San Pedro de Atacama - day 1

    21 Februari 2023, Chile ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Alarm clock in 3 in the morning?! Well there must be a good reason for that.. we are flying to Atacama desert in north of Chile. All the tourists usually stay in small town San Pedro de Atacama and explore the desert from there on day tours. Nearest airport is located in Calama approximately 1 hour away from San Pedro. There are many tours so it was quite difficult to decide which tour we would like to do. Luckily Sabine and travel agency operators gave us many tips so we made a plan today what we gonna do till Saturday evening. We are staying in lovely Airbnb in outskirts of the town. The Airbnb is not only beautiful building but has also great garden with hammocks, fireplace ect. We had very relaxing day, prepared lunch and breakfast and we’re waiting for our night Stargazing tour 💫. We got picked up at 23:30 by van and drove for maybe around 15 minutes outside of the city. First we took pictures, then we were watching sky, watching stars and Mars with telescope and at the end we sat down by bonfire, got hot chocolate and ate snacks. We returned 2:30 in the morning back happy and exhausted. In 1-2 days we should get the photos from our tour so I am really curious how they are 🤩Baca lagi

We woke up super late and spent the morning in our Airbnb. For today we booked the tour to Laguna Cejar. We were meeting up in the city center at 14:20 to spend the afternoon touring one part of the Atacama desert. Firstly we drove to Ojos de Salar- two craters which are the lakes nowadays. Very close is located Laguna Tebenquiche where you can see if you are lucky large colonies of flamingos 🦩. This lagoon is also very special as due to salt and other minerals one of the oldest microorganisms were founded here. Last spot was the Laguna Cejar and Laguna Piedra reserve. The both lagoons are located walking distance from each other. Laguna Cejar has amazing turquoise color but the water level is at the moment very low so we could see the lagoon only from distance. Last stop and highlight of the trip was Laguna Piedra where is it allow to swim. The lake has very high concentration of salt (even higher then Dead Sea) and you can just float and enjoy the landscape. At the end of the tour we stopped in the middle of nowhere to enjoy snacks and Pisco Sour before returning to San Pedro.Baca lagi

From the visitor center it takes around 45 minutes up to the viewpoint. The views are amazing 🤩 you can see San Pedro, Death Valley and all the volcanoes. Although it was a short trip we were very exhausted. We are more then 3200 meters above the sea level and the air is super dry. We need to stop every 5 minutes to breathe and drink 😅😅. In the evening we cooked and watched movie in our apartment.Baca lagi
