Bus day today, crossing the border from Spain into France again into Bordeaux
Only a short trip got in at 1 and we couldn't get in the hostel until 4 so we walked around and ticked off all the major sights in the afternoon
Then had a 3 course meal for dinner which was cheap only €17.60 Prawns, Steak and chips, then a delicious chocolate cake and custard and almonds and it was great!!
My feet are full of blisters and are absolutely killing me so tomorrow will be a day of rest. Supposed to get to 38 degrees and the hostel has no aircon but a day of chilling out is needed. The fatigue is definitely catching up now but these next couple of stops before Paris will be very chilled out😊Read more
Yesterday was very chilled as in I didn't do much, not temperature as it was 38 degrees so no relief from the heat the hostel had no aircon so was warm but then it stormed last night
Bus day today from Bordeaux to Tours and we are a hotel room such a good change from hostels and we cooked our own meal of salad, mash and sausages!!!!!
Yesterday was a chilled day before hitting up the next few stops which will be on the go pretty much constantly. Tours is a charming little city. There isn't anything touristy it's just a quiet city
We went to the botanical gardens and I took some inspiration shots for Melinda Ditchburn and Sam Aurisch so that they can add to their gardens haha
Then we just walked around for a little bit and saw 2 churches the first was the original one which there is minimal left standing and then the replacement church
We also went down a street which had extremely old buildings which was interesting to see how they were built
Another night in where I cooked pasta and salad😊Read more
Melinda DitchburnI can see these as the next project for Scott Aurisch
Not going to lie, yesterday I did pretty much nothing haha was still in recovery from the night before
But today my day started with the Louvre and wow there is so much amazing artwork and artefacts within it (way too many pictures to post). The Mona Lisa in my opinion is way overrated in the fact that the amount of tourists standing in front of it was ridiculous and he has many other works within the museum that are just as good (very similar in the faces be paints)
One of my favourite exhibitions was the ancient Egyptian collection. Really cool and you were able to walk into a preserved tomb with the writings and drawings still original on the walls
Then after spending multiple hours roaming the museum I went for a walk to the Eiffel Tower which in fact kind of turned into a hike. The distance between all the monuments is extreme. They are all spread very far apart! And I wasn't wearing comfortable shoes so my feet are quite sore now! Tomorrow I will put on the sneakers and head to the remaining monuments
Then a stroll up the Champs-Élysées with all of the shops that I can't afford
Then the Tour de France came through the streets of Paris so I lined the barrier and spent about 4 hours firstly waiting till it started then they had a massive parade of sponsors and all of their floats with lots of singing and shouting in French then the bikes came through which was amazing to see them live! They are ridiculously fast like you expect them to be but it's still really amazing to see in real life not that you do for long as the fly past. Amazing athletes😊
It was really overcast and windy today which made my photos not the greatest and the wind was so chilly like been back home! (But a nice change from the heat haha)
Early to bed for me as have another big day of sightseeing ahead👍Read more
Well today was a big one with a total of 18km walked just to get between 3 of the monuments out of the many
It was raining all day which didn't make the most fun to sightsee in and the pictures aren't the best due to the lighting
But it started with a walk to the Sacre Coeur Basilica which has amazing panoramic views of Paris of which I just saw clouds but the building itself was very very pretty
Then off to the Arc de Triomphe and another stroll up the opposite end of the Champs Élysées past more of the expensive stores like Louis Vitton and Gucci
This was again quite surreal to see in real life and it is very pretty also
Then another stroll to the Notre Dame which is interesting, the design on the side is very different to other cathedrals but it as still an amazing piece of architecture
Another stroll home and after a trip to the supermarket for a cheap dinner I'm in bed at 7.30 as my legs feel like they are going to fall off😊Read more
