    New digs

    July 2 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

The first apartment was only for one night to allow a guest extra time to get out of the one we booked. The ultimate landing point is a fair bit smaller but still nice, and still at the waterfront area. We're playing a ton of cards and reading. We expect an update on the lockdown status at 11.30AEST today. Fingers crossed but due to the news of an isolation breach late last night, bracing ourselves.Read more

    Waves, wharf and markets!

    July 2, 2017 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

We have had a big fun day! We went to the wave pool near our apartment, and it was so much fun!! Then we had a big walk to the South Hill Wharf where we saw memorials to the bombing of Darwin and had an icecream. Mum was excited to go to the Mindil beach markets. The beach was really nice and we bought necklaces at the market and went on a bouncy castle slide. Ruby lost a tooth so the snowcones helped! Sam said he saw a lot of things that remind him of Melbourne, especially the war memorials.Read more

    Farewell to Broome

    June 30, 2017 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

Here are some more pictures of our last day in Broome. We saw a beautiful sunset last night, had face painting, and said goodbye to Nannie and Gramps. We flew into Kunnunurra which is a desert town with a big lake (they can grow lots of fruit with the water!) and arrived in Darwin after dark. We'll go exploring tomorrow!!Read more

    Tunnels, crocodiles and Uncle Buster!

    July 3, 2017 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 26 °C

We are staying right near the special tunnels of Darwin. They were dug out to store fuel for warplanes, so it couldn't be blown up by bad guy bombers in World War 2. Seems like hard work, all that digging! There was also a cool robot made of old ship parts.
Then we went to a crocodile centre in town. We had our photos taken with a little crocodile called Fluffy. He felt soft to hold and he's was very calm. We also liked the snakes and lizards and turtles. We had a nice time exploring shops in Darwin.
Tonight we had dinner at Uncle Buster's house. He cooked yummy fish on the balcony. His house and pool are very tropical! We loved playing with Baz the dog.

    Territory Day in Darwin

    July 1, 2017 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

We didn't expect to arrive in the middle of a celebration but we did! The first of July is an anniversary of the Northern Territory starting it's own government. And it's also the one day a year anyone can buy and set off fireworks! Our apartment is at the waterfront and we can hear a lot of fireworks and we can see the big ones. Hopefully no-one starts a fire! Uncle Buster came for a BBQ on our balcony.Read more
