    Soooooooo
We woke up at 3:30 HAHAHA.

We did 2 loads of washing and got Wills bag from outside.
Did I mention we washed it?
    DIE BED BUGS DIE.

We went and bought more lasagne and cooked that for dinner.

I have spent several hours today trying to organise the last few countries of our trip.
Getting in and out of Slovenia is a pain.
Until we have made it there I will continue to stress.
    Nothing goes direct boo.

Had a lie down in the shower before. So good hhah

    Wasteful day lol.

Alarm set for tomorrow though lol 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

    Photos from tomorrow.

    So the tour didn't happen...
BUT we did leave the house.
    Around 2.30..

I pinned all the things we had to see in our maps (don't know why I only just thought of this idea) and off we went - first stop was the chain bridge.
Frankly it's just a bridge and it isn't even that nice but the lion statues at the start are cool.
Unfortunately it was pretty hazy today as well so everything wasn't as crisp as it could be.
Across the river was Buda castle.
Budapest is two islands - Buda and pest.
We assume because of the castle we have been staying in Pest.
    Buda looks nicer.

The castle looked like more of a palace (don't actually know the difference but it's vibe was definitely palace) and wasn't grand enough that we felt we needed to explore it. Looking at it was enough.
We crossed the bridge and then had to walk up a gazillion stairs to reach the Fisherman Bastion.
It looks like a sand castle because it was white but the big thing in the middle was Matthias church which had a hectic colourful roof.
Not actually sure which bit was the fisherman Bastion but I think the general area, wall and look out points?
From the top was a beautiful view of parliament which really is a kick ass building.
    Gothic styled.

Walked back across the chain bridge and then walked to the metro.

Figured out the ticket machines and caught the train a few stops so I could have my bath 🤗🤗🤗

So yeah. We went to the Széchenyi thermal bath.
Will is a pooper and didn't want to participate but gave me an hour for my swim.

    I had a bloody blast!!

Ok so I had to hire swimmers which was $10 which is super expensive but I had to so..
stoked that he looked me over and handed me a size small woohooo!
    Expected the XL hahahahaha
Bit tight but I got in 💪🏻

They give you a watch and it activates your locker - a cool system. A private dressing room costs extra so I had to get rudely nudey with everyone.
One elderly lady I did not need to see what I did.

Figuring everything out took up 15 minutes of my swim time to I raced to the pools - this place is huge!!

It looked so cool! So much steam was rising off the water.

I jumped in pool 1 which was nice and warm and full of people. i just paddled about. I had a spin In the whirl pool too. The temp was 34°
I then did a freeeeezing cold run over to pool 2 and jumped into that.
It was so bizarre. You know the stinging sensation when your feet are really cold and you enter heated water?
That happened to my whole body.
    This pool was 38°

It was so cool. People were drinking beers and there were sooo many canoodling couples!!
There was also a place where you could place chess in the pool!.

Thankfully there was a clock so I knew when I had to get out.
I made a noob decision and left my towel in the locker (didn't realised you could bring it) but omg the run to the chance room was freeeezing!!! Lol

Got my shit sorted, went and took pics of the pools and went to meet up with Will in the foyer.

We caught the metro back then Walked to Indian.
    Nice place.

Walked home and have packed and booked a crap tonne of stuff.
Got a Bnb in Portugal and flights to Paris. 👍🏼👍🏼

    - Budapest has its own "Budapest eye" and its hilariously small in comparison.

    - People attach love locks to anything

    - at the Indian we got given a bunch of seeds with the check and we don't know why.

    Bah what a stressful morning!

We left with plenty of time and planned to get the metro.
We bought our tickets and then got told it wasn't running today...
annnnnd then came the stress. A little annoyed that we paid but the stress of missing the bus was far stronger.
And then began the 3km walk to reach the bus stop in time..
I say walk but my legs were on over drive. I was in so much pain and so damn hot.
I ran at certain times to keep up with Will. Stupid daddy long legs.
We did make it AND I found a magnet. I had totally given that idea a miss but due to our awesome athletic ability I had time to get one quickly before jumping on the bus. Its pretty average but I was still pleased.

Our bus driver was ridiculous. He tried to take the back routes and got lost. I slept a good chuck of the journey but I was awake for 2 complete U - turns so not sure how many he actually did throughout the whole journey hahah
He wasn't skilled with the brake either. So jerky. We arrived 30 mins late.
Our hostel was 5km away so we caught the metro - thank goodness it was working here! 🤗
We had to change over but the system was easy to understand and efficient.
Back to German booo so ugly hahah
Found our hostel and checked in. It's the same company as the one in Munich. Same everything pretty much.
Our room was empty so we got to pick our beds yayaayya
We got room mates shortly after from the Dominican Republic. I don't think I've met anyone from there so that was cool. They talked it up and now I want to go lol

We went out for an early dinner to get schnitzels but todays is the 4782 public holiday we have experiences in our European travels (honestly outrageous) so the place we walked to was closed.
    I think it's children's day or something ?

We found an Italian place open.

Back home and I'm shattered. It's only 7:20 so I'll try stay awake a little longer before I crash :$

So I kinda slept the whole night through but I woke up a good 5 times for wees and then the pillow was uncomfortable. I have since swapped with Will haha.

We left for food. Western Europe is rapidly taking our money.
We are trying to spend less than $50 a day but it's honestly not bloody possible.
Our cards current exchange rate is 0.58 euro to every dollar so we are basically paying double for everything 😭😭
    Occasionally it's the low 60's
    It's bullshit lol

We walked back to the hostel for a toilet stop then to the free walking tour meeting spot. We were meant to book an we hoped we would be allowed to participate.
Because we were 20 mins early she let us in weeee :)

Tour was the worst we have been on I think.
I think the problem was it was too much info on the wrong stuff and too little on the right stuff.
Like, he kept name dropping and I was like who the hell is this bloke?
He gave no background on Austrian history so I understood very few connections he made.
It still had some good bits.

Their opera house is nice. Ours is better. The designer killed himself though because the king (I think) said it looked like a train station.
It kind of does, just a reallllly fancy one.

We went through several court yards. Apparently you can rent the apartments? They might be attached to the place though? I seriously don't know - I couldn't hear over people translating next to me and his accent was thick.
There is a treasury in one section though which I reckon would have hectic crowns and stuff.
Francis Joseph is important. Still don't know who he is - i assume a king but that was not clarified. He is everywhere though.

Went to the biggest courtyard - that's what he called it but it wasn't enclosed so I don't consider it a courtyard... but the front of the palace (again, I think) was there and it was pretty.
All the buildings are the same. It's pretty yet boring?
If it was my first county I'd be blown away.
There are a lot of green horse/rider statues around the place.

In the distance he pointed out parliament and town hall. Both buildings looked terrific but we didn't approach... will check out another day..

We went to a church and inside to my great delight is a mosaic replica of the last supper. I left feeling like the void Milan left has been filled. It was very very good.
It was large and it looked like the painting so yay us.
The church also had a cool moving nativity scene.
Christmas decorations are still up everywhere!

We went to what translates to Michaels square where Roman remains are in the floor.
Looks like shit but once you say it's Roman it becomes ok hahaha
Down the street is a horse school and the first female did a show there recently so that's great - a big step.
Something to do with the Spanish.. 😅

We stopped at a fountain. I don't know why.
    Maybe the main square?

The royal family crypt is nearby which we are gonna check out tomorrow and it's somehow relevant to how a cappuccino got its name but again, and not for the last time, I don't know. The building was brown though 🤔 lol
So the next stop was a cool one - where Mozart worked and died. its only a plaque on a building but still interesting.

    Next, another courtyard... reason unknown.
Then St Stevens cathedral which had a hectic colour roof and is where Mozart got married. I wanna go back and see the crypt. Apparently there are intestines there lol

    The outside is pretty blackened.

Ok so we are terrible terrible people and we then ran away from the tour without a tip. It had 2 more stops to go but we were bored.
And the main reason - we are poor.

The train station is cool - it has Pie across the station. 3.14.......... blah blah blah.

Went home then popped out for dinner again.
I only had 2 cheeseburgers and a salad the whole day and we still broke budget 😖😖😖😖😖😖😖
    Like honestly it's not possible.
Will got a schnitzel and it was disgusting. They don't do chicken here - weirdos - so he got pork and made himself eat it but has felt funny since. At least it came with potato salad so he had something else to eat.

Our waiter was a goose. He corrected my English...
I was like uhm please. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
I asked if the salad came with sauce?
He goes do you mean dressing? It's called dressing not sauce......

Is can be called both but whatevssss.

At the end he was like tip not included.
I did not tip hhhahaha sucker.
    The food sucked. He sucked.

Home now. Had a nap and its currently 2am and I'm ready to go back down I think hah

I also messaged Vicki to ask if Austria sells taco. Her answer was promising but she is checking her supermarket tomorrow. Hahahhh
    She is too nice.

Chick in the room is sleep talking and it's weird.

    Slept crap.
Idiot next to us decided to wake up and read at 4am and his bed light was directly in my eyes.

Anywaysss we got on the move. We had subway for breakfast.

We then decided we would check out the parliament and town hall buildings we saw from a distance yesterday.

I now see why they were skipped. Parliament is badass but is under renovations so they are currently sitting somewhere else but it's like a big column Greek Roman looking thing.
Town hall we couldn't even get close to - out the front was all a construction zone. It also looked less fancy up close.
There was the coolest ice rink though! It was like a race track circuit that you had to follow around trees and stuff.
if I wasn't freezing and was wearing water resistant pants I would have signed up lol but one false move and my legs would be icicles all day haha

We then headed towards the imperial crypt but on the way walked past the imperial horse stables which I really loved cause you could see the horseys in there little huts with coats on 🤗🙃
It was also In the middle of the street so that was random/unexpected and therefore a highlight.
Animal involvement always gets bonus points haha

    Walk walk walk.

All the buildings are white or cream. Boring.
They have cool traffic lights though.. some are men, some are women, some couples - have seen a straight couple and lesbo ones. No men ones yet.
I know there are couples cause they hold hands and have a love heart. Lol
Still it's nice and a very not confronting display.

Found the crypt (it's the cappuccino building)
We paid 7€ each to go in.
    I lovedddd it.

It's where all the members of the hapburg** family are buried.
Stupid entry price but monarchies really interest me sooo down we went.

There were first little boxes that were for come children. Apparently 25% of the remains here are under the age of 5 which is just so so sad.
These boxes were for the under 1's though.

The coffins or what ever you want to call them were all really intricate but boring. All the same color metal.

There was a school group who were in the way so we quickly overtook.

    So many!!

We found Francis Joseph - royalists still leave flowers at his grave.
Franz Ferdinand's dad was also somewhere in the crypt too.
Lots of emperors. It was such a big empire so I love it :)
    Good choice us.

We left and then went back to St. Stevens cathedral and went inside.
A beautiful church. Even Will made comment.
It has catacombs that you can go see but the. Exit tour was 2 hours away so we gave that a miss.
    Got my Austrian magnet.

    Went home.
We napped before going out for dinner.
Cheap eats McDonalds for the win 🤙🏽 lol

Back home and I think I'm gonna read.

Helen also got Harvey - I added it to 2 days back. 👍🏼

    Woke up late.
Ate breakfast, then headed to the state library.
I thought it was 3€ entry but it was actually 8€ .. we still paid cause I reallllllyyy wanted to go in because it looked like Hogwarts 🙃
So it's basically a giant library with 200,000 books. From the looks of them they were all volumes wrapped in leather. Inside was also the cool bookcase ladders with wheels. Some dude was doing something to the books and he had gloves on.

There were big globes too. Some dates from before Australia was found so that was cool.

We weren't allowed flash - Wills went to take a photo and it randomly came on but he didn't realise. We got in trouble lol. I tried to tell him but he thought I was just waving my arms at him because I wanted him to take a photo of me.
I suppose that is it usual meaning🤔🤔😂😂

Pictures couldn't capture it. Even Wills fancy pants Samsung.
We just walked around looking at the books.
    Loved it!

We left and went for a walk.
We came across and English cinema and notes they were playing Star Wars. We went and bought tickets... our reasoning was Slovenia is not likely to have it in English and we want to see it while still in the cinemas.

We waited an hour at Starbucks before it started.

So I thought it was terrific. Will however sided with everyone else and hated it.
I agree they tried to be funny and it failed but I did enjoy the story.

We went home then decided we should get dinner before everything shut so we went next door for Chinese.
    grossly underwhelming but I'm full.

Seriously stressing about getting from The snow fields to Slovenia.
IF ONLY THE DAMN INTERNET WOULD WORK.

I find it boggling that they have at both wombat hostels (it's a chain) has appalling internet. People have shit to do.
Like, I don't need it for Facebook, I NEED TO PLAN MY LIFE AND LOOK UP TRAIN TIMETABLES.

    Gah.

Dad emailed me to say the Rakia made it home safe. Little does he know when we get home we are making everyone do a shot hahahaha
Mum excluded cause she would actually die.
We both hated it at first but it grows on you.

I want to do a big family BBQ when we get back and we can do it then.
    *evil laugh*

Gerty and Aggie better be excited to see me or they can sleep outside.

I am disappointed... there is an opera toilet in the station which is flat out best idea ever BUT we took a different route home and I forgot about it until now and now it's to late. 😭
I wanted to poop to pretty music.

We are dorming with an Indian man and he is so smelly.
Do they not use deodorant or does it just not work?!?!

Check out was at 10 but our train was at 3 so I slept in the lobby and Will watched videos.
We walked to the station, ate, then got on the train.

I had to get my passport out because of my ridiculous name. They didn't need Wills 😂😂 just to check I match my Arabic looking name hahahah

    I had a small snooze.

Austria has a lot of yellow buildings.

The country side was beautiful. Really eery.
A lot of mist and skeleton trees with farms and cute villages.

Arrived in Graz and Vicki met us on the platform.
The beautiful person brought with her tortillas because she thinks they are tacos but I don't care the gesture is beautiful.
She walked us back to her apartment (also yellow) where we dumped our stuff then went out for dinner.
Will got a local beer and we both got some traditional chicken salad thing that is famous in the area. They are big into pumpkin seed oil which I wasn't overly fussed by.
Vicki is so lovely and it wasn't awkward which was great.

We went home - both of us showered and she helped us book our trip to Ljubljana. Bless.

We then just hung out in her room chatting. She has such squeaky floors!

We introduced her to pewdiepie and also showed her our 2 best parliment videos -
    - Pauline Hanson wearing a burka
And when Bill Shorten got called a cunt in Parliament followed by "ministers will refer to each other by there correct titles" hahahahah STRAYA.

    https://youtu.be/5TsNL3uBw1g <- best video.

She is sleeping with her roommate and we are in her bed. Will better not malt in it.

She set the beds up like a bloody hotel!

    11 Januari 2018, Austria ⋅ ⛅ 3 °C

    BIG DAY.

So the day began at 9. I forced myself up. Vicki had of course set up breakfast. 😅

We left soon after and we just walked around the city so we could see it in daylight. I like it way better than Vienna. It's smaller and cosy.
She then took us to see the clock tower - to get up the mountain we had to take a lift which cost 1.50€ - happy to pay than take the gazillion stairs (I think they were shut anyway - maybe too Icey?)
Up we went. The view was nice. Got a few pics.
The clock tower isn't AMAZING but it's still cool. Got a photo with it too, of course. 💁🏼

To get back down we got a train thingy like the one at the blue mountains. It was a novelty ride and I think aimed at children and elderly. I enjoyed it more than I should have 😂

We then got on a tram to the bus station and from there 2 more buses to a little town called Thal. I couldn't have navigated our way there by ourselves. Very thankful for Vicki.

So why did we come here?
The Arnold Schwarzenegger museum of course. 🙃
Vicki had never been either so she was happy to take us.
It's not in the most convenient location because it's set up in his actual childhood home.
Cute village life for the win.

There were heaps of transformers around the place and we don't really understand why but still they added a crafty touch to the place lol.
I know he was in terminator but Will said they were not them lol.

Ok so up the street we went and into the house.
The lady was nice and gave us the discount price cause Vicki told her we are unemployed hahah Cha -Ching.

First room was about his childhoods, second was his political career, third was his Hollywood stuff and fourth was his body building. His kitchen and toilet were also on display though not with the original original items.

Room one had cute photos, room two has awards and a big ass desk, third had some inspirational speechs and movie posters and props and fourth had his weightlifting gear.
I actually really enjoyed it. I think everyone did.
As you leave there is a sign "I'll be back" hahaha
Not funny and yet really funny.
    Well placed haha.
In the yard were more transformers.
We walked back to the bus stop except on the way we went by a frozen lake! It was awesome to see ducks actually standing on it.
Naturally we threw rocks and sticks at it to try break it but every time it either bounced or the sticks broke - even the thick branches which gave us a super clever idea - lets try stand on it! 😂😂

Me and Vicki, after a lot of trial and error and hesitation were both successful. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Will didn't risk it - he is much bigger haha it was so much fun!
Won't lie I felt a little like Jesus.

Got back on the bus and did the long trip home (about 40mins)
We went out and got a pizza before heading back to the Apartment- we also bought 4 packets of taco flavoring 😂

Went home, packed and walked to the station.

Super awkward moment when she was like can I give you my card details so you can give me the money for the train tickets.
Ermmm I have in writing you saying you didn't want our money but of course we couldn't say no. It put a sort of sour vibe on the end. Not because we had to pay - of course we had to pay - we expected too but once she offered to do it herself that expectation went away and because she did we have shouted her a few things to pay her back a bit of it and as a way to show appreciation. We wouldn't have bought her dinner if we knew we were paying for our tickets.
In conclusion Just didn't like she changed her mind rather than we had to pay.
This negativity was all internal and we parted on happy terms at the station. 👍🏼
Happy to leave - keeping convo going is exhausting haha

So the journey to Hinterstroder consisted of 2 trains and a bus.
Sooooo lucky we got the bus because we had 4 minutes from when our train arrived to find it and it was the last for the night. I am so thankful I jotted down the company name because we would have missed it otherwise. It's a 6 person van, not a bus. Not what I was looking for. It's pitch black with no lights so praise the lord. 🙏🏼
    So grateful we made it.
The bus took us 11km to our hotel which on arrival no one answered the door for 5 minutes which was stressful! It crossed my mind we would have to sleep ourside but eventually someone came and we got into our room.

    Cue relaxation time!

    12 Januari 2018, Austria ⋅ ☀️ -3 °C

So tired but made it down in time for breakfast 💪🏻
After we ate we went straight next door to the Inter-sport shop. We had to fill in a big form about height weight etc for the snowboard hire. They didn't have a snowboard as big as Will normally gets but close enough for him to ride.
I ride goofy but he rides regular.
My shoelaces are pretty cool, it's a windy up button. Will has regular ones ha ha. Sucker.
We also realised when in the store that I have been a goose and booked one day longer than I realised. I thought we had 4 days on the fields but we actually get 5. This obviously raised the price a bit but we had kept $1000 aside specifically for this little adventure and the board hire and ski passes cost $1063 so pretty close.
We did however have to also buy goggles as well because Will and the shop assistant were insistent we must have them.
Cheapest was 49€ EACH 😭 so that put the price up again.

Off we went - Will was excited, I was apprehensive. Lessons were stupidly expensive so I decided to give it a go and wing it.

The lift up the mountain took about 10 minutes. We then reached the sort of middle point which had ski lifts going up into different directions.
I successfully made it down a small hill without dying so that helped my confidence.
We jumped straight on the biggest lift because the rest were T-bar lifts and they are so hard to use with a snowboard.
Another 5 minute ride up to the top.

The fog was insane! Couldn't see where I was going so that was really scary for me.

Will fell over first hahahaha #winner

I then had a really big fall and smacked the back of my head so hard on the ice my beanie and goggles fell off.
From then on I kept my goggles off my eyes. I cant stand wearing sunglasses so I'm not surprised I didn't like the goggles.
I had a small cry on the mountain about my head lol.
Ok a semi big one Hahah

    I carried on.

I hate the skiers. One nearly killed me. I don't like boarding on my toes cause that's when I fall so I go in zig zags as they do except they go 10000km an hour and I'm like a bloody snail. It is the person behinds job to watch the person in front. If they hit me it's there fault.

I rode both goofy and regular - my board kept on switching around so I let it lol.
I made it all the way down the mountain. Granted I had a lot of pit stops but I got there. ☺️
I took so long we went and had lunch. Haha
It was self serve and naturally super expensive cause its the only option.
When I went to stand up afterwards my legs were like jello.

We went up the same lift to the same run.
    I took it slow again.
I had another major fall but in a different spot. I prefer the ice to the snow. The snow gets on top of the board and you get stuck.
When I fell I did like three rolls and landed on my back again but this time I really hurt my thumb. It still is so painful now as I type this 10 hours later.
I think I have just sprained it. It hasn't swelled up but that could be because of the immediate icing I gave it hahah ❄️❄️
Apart from when I went with mum and dad when I was 6 or something I don't believe I have yet gone snowboarding without hurting something or going to the hospital.
1 thumb injury, 1 ass injury and I think 1 knee injury as well. I obviously have great skills.
We will be getting helmets tomorrow - couldn't afford today. Money hadn't transferred off my card onto Wills yet.
Once down we had another break in the cafeteria which has wifi so I sent off come emails.

Back up we went and got down without issues - we went a different way at the bottom fork and ended up at a different ski lift which took us back up to the halfway point of the original mountain.
My right quad was KILLING me. I had to break often. It's not hurt, I am just not strong enough to be in the break position the whole time which I pretty much have been. I'll be more adventurous with a helmet. But seriously omg. It was like a cork screw - I was at the very end of my very limited strength. 😅

Made it to the bottom. Took a few pics and videos on this run.

Up we went again - we got 1/5 of the way when Wills board broke. His shoe thing came off the board so we had to walk down the mountain which was difficult until we found a ski lift. Will was so annoyed and foul - he wanted my to board down the mountain WHILE CARRYING HIS BOARD to take it to inter-sport to get fixed and then bring it back to him.
No, I don't think that's gonna work somehow...
I did the obvious thing and asked a worker for help. Duh... 💁🏼
He didn't have any screws so we caught the cable car down (not to the bottom cause that wasn't possible) where Will got picked up by a snowmobile. It could only fit one so I went back up and boarded down and met Will at the inter-sport. (Not the one we rented from - there is one in the snow field)
Made it down safely. Apparently they fixed it easily.
We went back up for one final run.
    Oh my lord.
It was impossible to see in front of you. Wishing I didn't have a white jacket... although it's currently very brown hahaha
And then it began to snow.
I put my goggles back on. Hated it but I had to. Kinda glad I had to so it means the money wasn't a waste cause they were bloody expensive.
We took it slow and made it safely - Will went ahead of me because I had to keep stopping because of my quad.
We took the lift back home.

We went to the supermarket and bought bread to make sandwiches with for tomorrow so we don't have to buy anything - we then got out of our wet clothes.

We went next door for dinner.

I am so sore omg. I can't lift up my neck when I lie down. I think I must have tensed it the entire day lol

*** I read this back to Will and he would like me to add the fact he wanted to buy goggles in Italy at decathlon but I said no so it's my fault we had to pay so much. 😂👍🏼

    My body hurts.

Logged into skype and chatted to mum, dad, Annette and Jessica.
We chatted a fair while but unfortunately my internet cut out mid convo so we didn't say bye but it just never came back on so we got dressed and left.
We went next door to hire helmets. For hygienic reasons we had to buy head scarf things. Will looked ridiculous. He looked like a hood rat/ice T in law and order hahaha

All up was 50€ - expensive but worth it.
Got in the lift and went up the first mountain- as we were getting on a girl got out and she couldn't walk - she might have broken her foot.
    Up up up we went.

Today is a Saturday so there is soooooo many more people today.
The line to get on the lift took ages and we had to share today - yesterday it was just us.
Everything is made for skiers. Nowhere to rest your board so it just dangles painfully off your dominate foot on an angle while twisting your ankle.
Made it to the top and down we went - I was the first to fall today. The second time my knee twisted but not to badly.
There is soooooo much more new snow today it made it so difficult! So bumpy!!
I made it across the flat bit for the first time today - all yesterday I didn't have enough momentum and had to walk a bit of the way.

The fog was at the bottom of the mountain today not the top. The views were lovely! 😍

I was so damn sore I said to Will he should go on a run by himself and I would wait for him at the seats so off he went.
He was about 30 mins before he rejoined me.
We sat for a bit. Will ate some sandwiches but I wasn't hungry.

I don't know how, but his board shoe thing came off again 😂
He has some pride issues sometimes so he spent an hour fixing it himself instead of walking 30 meters to the shop where they would fix it for free with the proper equipment..
    anyways..
He wasn't in the best mood cause the board pissed him off, we are both so sore from falling and there are so many people.
So, we decided one more run then we would go home.
I was so fine with that.
I'm aching. My thumb finally has a bruise though which I'm happy about - evidence!!

    Up we went.
We decided to go down separately so I could stop without effecting him (leg still weak AF)

    I had 4 falls.
    2 major ones.
First one I fell cause of snow but no injuries.
Second I fell to prevent myself going off the side of the mountain - I did a few spins but no injuries.
Third one I was uninjured only because of my helmet. I wacked it hard. Helmet now worth every cent.
Fourth fall I ate shit. My knees hands and ankle hurt. I let out a small, singular sob and continued on.
NO VISIBILITY - even worse than yesterday- took it soooo slow.
But made it to the bottom alive and that's the main thing.
As we went to leave Will goes
    "Where are your goggles?"

Fuck. They must have fallen off on one of my 4 falls 😪😪😪😪😪
    Goodbye money.
They weren't on my eyes and I didn't notice they had come off because of my helmet 😖😖😖
    Not buying more though.

Will suggested I go back down the mountain to try find them but in reality they could by anywhere and the fog would make it even more of a challenge.

Got home and I washed my knot hair then fell asleep.

Went to dinner at the same place.

I am so sore I can barely move 😂😭😭😭😭😭😭

Alarm was set for 9 because we missed breakfast yesterday which really put the hotel owners out of sorts. Apparently they waited for us until 10 even though brekkie is from 8-9:30. 😳

Quick feed then back upstairs - I went back to bed for an hour because I felt at deaths door 😅

It was snowing quite hard outside
Ok ready to go at 11:30 after much fiddling around haha

I timed the first snow lift today - it takes 11 minutes.

We decided to go on one run and then we would eat - up we went. The sun was bright today which I thought might be an issue because of my lack of goggles but thankfully it was not in my vision.

I took it so slow I didn't make it over the first flat bit 😂
So many ski school kids today.

I kept an eye out from my goggles but no luck.
I just really hope no one tripped over them and hurt themselves 😖

I had one fall and it reallyyyy hurt my ass.
Fell like my tailbone shattered but I got up. ha, this will be the death of me.

The second half of the course is way better because the course lead off into others and we are on the flattest most unchallenging course they have so it's way less crowded so I can zigzag in peace.

Made it to the end thank heavens hahaha

Into the resturant where we sat for an hour and ate spaghetti bolognese. It's like rsl standard and yet yum.

Money still not in Wills account for whatever reason so we are still using my nab card. The conversion isnt that bad actually. Quite pleased.

I had to prep myself for the next run.
    Last one
    Last one
    You can do thissss

    Up and away.

    I didn't fall once 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

We went home and both slept for 4 hours 😅🙄😂

    Went next door for dinner.

Back home - legs are recovering slowly but now my arms are sore lol

    What fresh hell Is this?

    I can't move my arms 😂😂😂😂

We did the same rush job breakfast then I was granted another hour sleep while Will Skyped people.

Thankful the ski lift is so close because the boots hurt my calves at the beginning while I adjust. You cant really stand straight they push you so you lean forward.
I like the little wrist pocket in my jacket for my ski pass. It makes going through the barrier very easy - dont even have to get it out.

Didn't have to share again. Thankful cause 11 minutes is a long time for an awkward silence with strangers.

    I hate the first hill.
When you get off the lift you have to clip your snowboard on to go down a hill to the main section.
    It's so bumpy.
I have to then walk to the next lift.
Everyone looks like a dill walking in the boots. Me included.

    Less crowded today.
We did one run. On the way up it was snowing and the proper pretty snowflakes kept landing in my hand. They brightened my mood. They were beautiful.
I only had a tiny fall where I landed on my knees so that was ok.
Some parts of the mountain I'm really good at others i loathe. I am good at going slanty across the mountain and around corners. Just not straight 😂

We both hate the same stretch so we always break before it. It's just lumps and lumps of powder.

Forgot to mention yesterday A MAN SKIIED DOWN THE MOUNTAIN BACKWARDS.
    Like holy hell. Wowza.

Made it to the end and breaked for lunch.
We had to sit outside but found a semi covered section.

We did one final run. I didn't fall but Will did.

Went to the shops after and bought some nibblies.

    I fell asleep.

    Dinner same spot.

Came home and watched the movie "bright"
Will recommended it - I liked it - keen for the sequel to come out.

On the second time up the mountain the Ski lift stopped and Will was freaking out. It was kinda funny.
He was stressing that it was broken and he would have to get a ladder down.
    Pansy.

We look like dicks in our helmet hats.

Will bitched breakfast but I went down like a trooper.
    💪🏻
I came back up and slipped back into bed hoping not to wake him and continue sleeping 😌

When we woke up he said some magic words....

    "My back hurts"

    So I asked

"Do you not want to go?"

    And he said ....

    "No"

    🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

*fakes disappointment and goes back to bed*

I had a 30 minute sit in the shower and then I packed my bag.

We went and returned our boards, helmet and shoes. it's a bummer we wasted money paying for 5 days yet I really ain't too sad. I hurt hahahah 😅

Will returned his ski pass and got 2€ for it but I kept mine to add to my book :) :) :)

We went to the shops and bought some snacks to hold us over until dinner.

    Watched cars 2 - great movie 👍🏼

Went to dinner next door and there was a snail in my salad but still had to pay for it.
I wish I was one of those make a fuss people. Would have saved some money. lol

Watched princess bride then went to bed.

What a stressful day 😂 but we made it to Ljubljana!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Righto so, up at 6:45, at the bus station by 7:20.
The amount of snow was INSANE!!!!! The place was completely covered and it was coming down like rain.
Of course our side of the street didn't have a cover so we got completely covered while waiting for the bus.
The bus was a little late which was understandable but still stressful. Wasn't sure if had been cancelled because the weather was so bad.
The snow felt so cool. Picking it up was so soft and light. It wasn't cold either.

I paid the bus driver 5€ with all 10c & 20c pieces haha

Got to Hinterstroder train station and we had our tickets ready with the train number but there was a train already waiting but it didn't have visible numbers.
We were trying to figure out if it was ours or not and if we should get on or not lol.

It wasn't.. but we were very confused because our train was also late.
This was stressful because we had to change trains halfway through the journey and the change time only gave us 3 minutes to find the new train.
Our train was 4 minutes behind schedule. 😓😓😓

Winter wonderland the whole way ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Made it to where we are meant to change - we must have made up the time cause we made it 🎉🎉🎉

Another 2 hours on that train and we made it to Graz.

We had breakfast, and relaxed in maccas for 2 hours before going to catch our bus.

Once on the bus I felt so good. Stresss freeee 🙃
    On the way woohoo.
3 hour bus ride and we rode with flixbus again so Will fit and we had wifi so I could contact our Bnb host to say we were coming.

Got off and only had to walk 400m to our Bnb. Of course we are the top level 😪
Our host was a little late and spoke so fast - his English was not strong enough for him to do that. Neither of us really know what he said haha
I loveeeeeeeee the bathroom. It's so colourful!!! If I ever end up alone my house will look like that.
For now though... Will said no hahaha devoooo.

We went out and bought taco ingredients YAYAYAYAY finally ate them and it was terrific. We have another 3 packets hahahaha

    We did nothing else today.

I'm currently watching Hotel Transylvania 2. Will is sleeping.

But from what I have seen - I love it.
    It's beautiful.

Back home and had a Big Bang marathon.

We then cooked our lasagne in the microwave cause there is no oven and then we watched more Big Bang.
Will went to bed and I watched Bridget jones.
I will never not love it.
    Favourite movie.
That, and V for vendetta. 👌🏻

An interesting evening. Not sure of the exact time but I'd guess around 4 or 5.... a man tried to get into our apartment.
He was off his head and thought it was his house.
Will asked him through the latch gap
    "What are you doing?"
    He said to himself
    "Just unlocking the door"
I awoke to Will telling him
    "Wrong door buddy"
He was so drunk he didn't realize someone was there and speaking to him and must have thought he thought it himself In his head because he kept talking to himself and answered
"No no just need to unlock it"
Amazing how he switched to English and didn't even notice 😂😂
    Will said again
    "Wrong door"
Then he finally looked up and noticed Will
    "Wrong door?"
    "Wrong door"
    "Oh.... ok"
    And he left hahahah

Somehow managed to wake up at 2 hahah
    😓

We went and got food then went to the shops to buy more cereal and milk.

We went and dropped it home ( I was nominated to climb the stairs 😒😒😒)
Then because it was a beautiful day we decided to do some walking around.

We have walked over it everyday to get to the SPAR supermarket but I finally got some photos of their dragon bridge which is their famous landmark.
It also has cool griffon/hypogryphs* holding up the lamp posts.
I got an awesome picture of the sunset and one of the dragon statues.
    Walked up the river again.
    Sooo pretttyty 😍

They have heaps of statues around the place - a lot of little ones like there was one of 3 ducks with bread lol
Also one of a carcass which was beyond bizarre. The sun was in a shitty spot so the photo didn't pick up all the details.

Shockingly... Ljubljana also had a love lock bridge.

Seriously love this spot!! A real contender for my top 5 cities.

We just kept walking along the river which had a gazillion different bridge options.
Cute restaurants along the way and cute looking Buildings. It was clean.

The castle sits above the city though it actually doesn't look that impressive it still adds some vibes.

We took an alley way and ended up in Tivoli park which is meant to be beautiful and is in all the travel guides but I assume most guides are for summer... not winter when everything is dead lol.

We turned around and took a small detour so I could take a photo of an awesome building we saw on the way - as we got closer we figured out it was actually the American embassy so I couldn't - every damn time 😂😂 always got to have the best buildings in prime locations.
This was the least secure one I have seen though.
It didn't look like a prison and was an Elizabethan looking building without the wooden planks and stuff.
    Stunning building.

We kept walking on our way home but went and stopped in at a fountain that is on all the magnets - as we were walking a police car pulled up next to a man that was passed out on the footpath.
When an ambulance then turned up we thought maybe he was dead because he really wasn't moving and was in the most uncomfortable looking position.
On our loop around though he was getting up so he was alive but not well lol.
He was so drunk and was arguing with the police and paramedics because he didn't want to go with then and didn't seem to understand why they were there.
Even though I couldn't understand the body language was clear lol.

Got a picture with the big famous pink church in the city centre then walked though some graffiti covered streets to arrive back home.

Added pictures to past 2 days.

Chilled out then eventually went out for dinner - we got cheap Indian.

Back home and I watched Bridget Jones's diary 2.
Only the second time I've watched it but I enjoyed it a lot more this time.
    Had a lot of giggles.
It's still oh so cringe worthy though haha

Everyday I go to spell it Ljubliana not Ljubljana.

Shite sleep. The tv light was so bothersome I got up and blacked it with a shoe after trying to ignore it for several hours.

Will wanted to get s haircut but cause it's Sunday things were shut.

After I rolled out of bed at midday we headed to lLjubljana castle. It's quite close to our apartment. We bought one way tickets to get the little cart thing up so we didn't have to climb. Ticket for book yaya.
So the castle is grossly unauthentic. It's so stupidly modern. It was 90% new buildings with a big resturant. It had cool signs saying like go on tour and awaken the dragon but I really can't see where that would have been done 🤔 really unexciting.
The view from the top was nice though. There was mountains in the distance which always adds a little dramatic flare.

Walked back down and Will had his usual look for old swords 😂

    Will got McDonald's for lunch but I didn't - wasn't that hungry.
Went home and he played his new man bike game he has found and I watched Bridget jones baby - besstttt.

We then had tacos again for dinner 😅

I watched Nanny McPhee and he carried on with his game lol.

Off to get Wills haircut today for the last time because it's damn well ridiculous how many he has had this trip.
I'm stuck with a homeless hairstyle and he keeps getting re spruced lol

So the place we went was the worst service imaginable.
2 hours we waited for 3 people to be seen.
No acknowledgement upon arrival and the workers kept leaving their customers to check there phone! Appalling.
    I reviewed them 1 star ⭐️hahaha booooo 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Finally Will got seen and she didn't know what a number 2 was.
He has had his hair cut in like 5 different counties and they all knew.. it's universal damn it lol.

The sun was starting to set at this point 😒 but we quickly walked to Metelkova which is an old abandoned military barracks and is now some big art scene but it was bloody cool.
I'll elaborate more tomorrow because we are going to go back and have a look in the daylight lol

    Went home
So over the damn stairs - you go from freezing outside to walking into a furnace to exercise.
They really do over compensate for the shitty outdoor weather.

Pretty bummed out apartment doesn't have a washing machine. Dirty pile is getting pretty big.

Went out for a cheap eat at the Thai place again.
Still yummy but definitely a different chef.
    Preferred the first one.

Went home and I napped from 9pm -12.

It had weird statues, graffiti, art made from scraps of metal and wood etc.
I liked the big wooden spider and poltergeist looking things.
We just walked around then left.
    I liked the grunginess.

We walked to the post office where I got stamps for Bobbin and Ally's postcards then popped them in the box.

    ERliest wake up in daysss
Out the door by 10:45 and off to the bus station.
A bus was leaving at 11 but we bought the tickets for the bus at 12 instead so we could eat.
The bus ride took an hour. We didn't have to pay to store our bags underneath which was nice.
Once in Bled we only had to walk 200m to our hostel.
it's a no shoes policy one so I stunk up the entrance lol 😓
Check in was efficient. He was detailed and actually helpful.
    Back to top bunks woooo..

We really needed to do laundry so we spent the next hour at the local laundromat. Probably the nicest one we have been to. It had free wifi and water plus cushioned seats. #luxuriouslife
Wash took 40 mins and cost 4€
Drying took 20 and cost 2€
So maybe the cheapest place too 🤔

Dumped our stuff back at the hostel then went for a quick walk down to the lake.
We are going to walk around the whole thing tomorrow so we just went to the edge.
Very nice. A lot of lovely restaurants about too.
Sun was in a shocking spot and the reflection of the water meant you couldn't really look directly at it anyway haha
We went for a walk around town. Reminds me of a ski resort - the cabin building types and smallness.

There is a castle which we walked a small way around the edge to get a better look at.
    Niiiiice.
It's very standoffish. It just needs a sign "I hate everyone" out the front.
We are gonna buy bread and feed the ducks on our walk.
    Overall a lovely little spot.

Back to the hostel for an hour then off to dinner.
Terrific pizza tbh but the real highlight was the dog I pet on the way home. He stuck his head through the fence and once I decided he wasn't gonna bite me we had a pat 🤗🤗 his friends head couldn't fit so he missed out but I have every intention of going back tomorrow 😂

My nap screwed me over but I got up before sunset so all was well. 😅😂

    Ok so,
Went to try and find breakfast at the supermarket but once again they have no pre-made food so we got pringles and chocolate biscuits..
Oh and bread for the duckies.

We began our walk around the lake.
I was a bit sad at first because we were a little way grom the edge so I couldn't feed anyone the bread but we eventually got 1/4 of the way round and found some seats to sit and eat our nutritious breakfast and feed ducks.

These ducks were pretty ballsy - they ate it out of our hands 🤗🤗🤗😁😁😁
Got some nice photos from here but still eager to get to the other side of the lake out of the sun.

I really like the church in the middle of the lake. I think that's the whole point though. That everyone does.

Kept walking around until we got to another pier with a stunning view.
Whipped out the selfie stick but the sun made our faces all squinty in all of the pics lol.

I got a headstand one and Will nearly died of embarrassment cause people were nearby watching.
Slightly irked by the results but they will do. My options were slightly over split or slightly under. I went with slightly under for my uploads. 🙃🙃

    Walk walk walk.
Another lookout point with a great shot of the castle directly behind the church.

    This place is really lovely.
It would be a great daily walk for you and your dog.
Europes dogs are trained better - no one is ever on a lead.

I think it's about a 6km walk around the whole thing.
Near the end we stopped in at a cafe and shared a pizza.

There is a gross and yet totally MUST HAVE love heart shape thing for people to get photos with.
    I made Will.

Fed more ducks the last bits. These ducks weren't as brave as the other lot.

Came back to the hostel and I fell asleep for 4 hours 😓😓😓😓
    Will drank beers with people.

When I got up it was 8pm so I went and ate at a resturant by myself because Will wasn't hungry.
    Poo head.

Dogs weren't there for me to pay tonight :(

Came back and made myself join in and be social.

Our bus was delayed by 50 minutes which caused total chaos because there is only one flixbus bus stop in Ljubljana (normally 5+) and people from 3 different buses where waiting.
One African man lost his freaking mind.
Our bus was for 9:50 and his was for 10:25 - he didn't seem to understand that it wasn't his bus and that ours was delayed so maybe his was too. he pushed through the crowd and started screaming at the driver dropping every swear word at the top of his lungs. Like that was gonna help 🙄
    Sorry mate, not your bus.
He kept saying "my bus didn't come"
MAYBE ITS LATE LIKE EVERYONE ELSES YOU IDIOT.
He stormed away and will have missed his bus if it did come late.

Got on the bus and away we went.
At the Italian border things got interesting.

We all had to show our passports but then the bus suddenly smelt like weed so the customs offices went ballistic and took the 2 people in front of us off the bus.

They could still smell it on the bus and some Spanish girl goes to them
    "It smells like weed, yes?"

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I would never mention drugs to a federal officer even though we all knew the smell hahahaha
It was seriously funny she was having the time of her life
    She continued on saying
She was having a great little gossip saying to everyone
"The smell got less when they left... I don't want to say anything...."

    Very funny.

The 2 outside being searched looked super relaxed.
We all had our bags searched except randomly not me because it wasn't at my feet.
They looked under the carpet and everything.

after a half hour the 2 people were allowed back on because they couldn't find it.

As we were driving away the dude PULLED OUT A JOINT FROM HIS POCKET.
Like holy hell they conducted the worlds worst drug search.
    ARE YOU SERIOUS
    The couple laughed about it.
I witnessed an international drug smuggle today.
    Feeling worldly.

We kept driving and considering the start of the day the end of the trip was uneventful.

    Made it to Venice airport.
What a stupid airport. No signage. Our check in was in the arrivals not departures - geez I wonder why we were confused...
    stupid.

Check In was efficient so we went straight through security.
My bag got pulled over. I always have anxiety it's because of my meds but it never is. They didn't find anything and on we went.

We waited in the cafeteria for 2 hours then eventually boarded our plane.
We watched the bag guy load everything in and I bet everyone has broken stuff. His performance was a "current affairs" worthy. Just chucking everything with not a single care or consideration.

This is such a big day. 3 countries in 12 hours.

The flight to Barcelona took 1.45hrs.
Non eventful and I think we both snoozed.

    Ryanair is great.

Arrived in Spain but had to wait 20 mins for our bags to come out.

My mugs made it I think (haven't properly checked but they feel whole through the top of the bag.)

So on the bus, we were at the back with another girl.
An hour before Venice airport she got off at the first stop just past the border...
She was on our plane.... ermmmmmm why not get the bus direct to the airport?
    What a Wally.

    Anyways,

Had to find the shuttle bus.

Went the wrong way but after a lot of unnecessary exercise we found the stop. It's the opposite direction to the sign...
a 40 minutes journey to the city centre.
From there a 2km walk to our hostel.
    Found it 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

So we don't have room keys but wristband things like the locker keys at swimming pools. Wills doesn't even fit his wrist lol.

    Top bunk again 😪
Honestly my least favorite thing is making up a top bunk.
Freaking impossible when you can't reach.

We went to the main square but as it's a Saturday night everything was chockers. It was insane!
Everything had an hour wait so we just kept walking and walking.
We eventually found a cafe. It did the job.
Back home and have spoken to some Americans in our room who are very 'eh'.
More self absorbed than the average bear.
They are all 20 so hopefully time will help. Lol

Barcelona is the most like Sydney thus far.
Maybe cause of the sandstone vibes. ?

This whole trip I have grown a chin pimple in the same spot every few weeks. It's like a small island,

    28 Januari 2018, Sepanyol ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

The dorm room doesn't have blinds so it was very bright all night but I got to sleep around 1:30 which is better than normal.
We got up at 10:30 and headed to Hard Rock Cafe for lunch because we really want chicken wings haha
It hit the spot as usual but we now can't afford to eat the rest of the day 😅😅😅😅
We were the first customer of the day so everyone was in a good mood and not over life yet.

We then had an hour to kill before our tour so we walked a little bit to see the Casa Batllo. An awesome design by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi.
It was such a strange design but still really really cool. It was like waves and the colours were fun.
The building next to it was also bright and colourful.
We walked through the city to find out meeting spot.
On the way we saw a homeless man with 2 dogs and a CAT. I gave him money because that is awesome. It had a lead but it wasn't being used. He was just chilling with his family hahaha.

First impressions are excellent. Loving the city.
Currently waiting for our guide to show up :)
There is a penis cactus behind us. (Photo)

Righto so our guide was Leon and I was happy he was our guide until he actually properly began.
What a loon. He was either high or had undiagnosed ADHD because he was just so twitchy and all over the shop in every possible way. He never finished a sentence. I have never met someone with less of a filter - words literally fell out and he actually had to correct himself a lot because he said the wrong fact because he didn't first process before saying. He was insane. And he swore a lot which was sometimes fine and funny and sometimes uncomfortable.
I didn't like the tour because it was like he was self conscious and wanted us to enjoy but was second guessing what we wanted. I just want to be told what to do. I don't want to lead the group that's his job.
Same problem with info - he would start a story get halfway and be like oh no you don't care.
If you start you need to finish.
I learnt very little cause I couldn't keep up with his train of though.

So anyway he didn't really take us to see anything 🤔 we walked around and stopped in random spots.
The only thing I liked or understood was the Barcelona cathedral, Jewish quarter (I was able to keep up with his history lesson on this part) and the old Catalan Parliment.
He took us to a lot of places people were buried or rather nearby.
I liked the Catalan martyr bit. It has an eternal flame to remember them. He gave us his political info on Catalonia, it's flag and history.

If it does ever get its independence back it will really annoy me. Have I then been to Spain? Or have I been to Catalonia?
The only thing I will know is that i have been to Barcelona.

He gave this uncomfortably long poem at the end. It went for a solid 5 minutes - though very good it was awkward.

We gave him 10 euro cause I know he has to pay the tour company 3 euro per person on his tour so we felt obliged to at least cover him.

We ended up at some place....
    inside are ruins.....
that's all I can say in the subject....

Both of our backs were really sore so we sat for a long time before going back to the hostel.

3 people left so I stole a bottom bunk because this hostel doesn't have assigned beds. 🎉🎉

    I napped...

We went out for dinner to have a 'wok and go'
    Barcelona is expensive 😭😭😭😭

Walked home and now in bed.
Keen for tomorrow. Gonna see the cathedral and park :)
